All of it is between drinking and urinating; how can sleep overtake him?

If he says, "It is only that I put my head down, and I am just a stone thrown until morning," he says, "That is because food intoxicates and numbs and makes sluggish and moistens the brain and moistens the veins, and the whole body relaxes upon it. And if it were right, you should sleep night and day."

فَإِنْthen ifقَالَhe said::««أَصْبَحْتُI woke upوَأَنَاwhile IلَاnotأَشْتَهِيI desireشَيْئًاanything»»،,قَالَhe said::إِيَّاكَbewareأَنْthatتَأْكُلَyou eatقَلِيلًاlittleوَلَاand notكَثِيرًاmuch،,فَإِنَّfor indeedأَكْلَeatingالْقَلِيلِthe littleعَلَىuponغَيْرِother thanشَهْوَةٍappetiteأَضَرَّis more harmfulمِنْthanالْكَثِيرِthe muchمَعَwithالشَّهْوَةِappetite،,قَالَhe saidالْخَوَانُthe table companion::««وَيْلٌwoeلِيto meمِمَّنْfrom one whoقَالَsaidلَاnoأُرِيدُI want»»..وَبَعْدُand furthermore،,فَكَيْفَthen howتَشْتَهِيdo you desireالطَّعَامَfoodالْيَوْمَtoday،,وَأَنْتَwhile youقَدْindeedأَكَلْتَateبِالْأَمْسِyesterdayطَعَامَfoodعَشَرَةٍten»»؟?

If he says, "I wake up and I do not desire anything," he says, "Beware of eating little or much, for eating little without appetite is more harmful than eating much with appetite." The table companion said, "Woe to me from one who says 'I do not want.' And furthermore, how can you desire food today when you ate yesterday the food of ten?"

And he often used to say to his drinking companions, "Beware of eating during a hangover, for the remedy of a hangover is drink. A hangover is indigestion, and the one with indigestion if he eats, he dies inevitably. And beware of eating much after cupping, bloodletting, and the bath. And keep to lightening up during the entire summer, and avoid meat especially."

And he used to say: Nothing corrupts people except people. This one who farts and speaks cold speech and with disapproved glances, if he did not find someone who laughs at him and some who thank him and laugh with him, or is it not in his view just to show admiration at him, the farter would not have farted, and no one would have undertaken anecdotes except its own people. People's saying to the voracious eater and the greedy glutton: "So-and-so is good at eating," is what destroyed him and increased his desire, until he made that a craft, and until perhaps he ate, because of their saying and their bringing him near and their admiring, what he cannot bear. Then he does not cease to attack a people and eat their provision and leave them.
