The first chapter
فِيInتَرْتِيبِarrangementالْقُرْآنِof the QuranالْكَرِيمِNoble
In the arrangement of the Noble Quran
وَأُسْلُوبِand styleالسُّوَرِof the surahsفِيهِin it
and the style of the surahs in it
لَيْسَIs notالْقُرْآنُthe Quranمُرَتَّباًarrangedعَلَىuponالْأَبْوَابِthe chaptersوَالْفُصُولِand sections
The Quran is not arranged by chapters and sections:
لَمْDid notيَنْزِلِdescendالْقُرْآنُthe QuranالْكَرِيمُNoble
The Noble Quran did not descend
عَلَىuponمَنْهَجِthe methodالْمُتُونِof textsالْمُبَوَّبَةِcategorizedوَالْمُفَصَّلَةِand detailed
upon the method of categorized and detailed texts
حَتَّىso thatيَكُونَisكُلُّeveryمَوْضُوعٍtopicفِيهِin it
so that every topic in it
يَخْتَصُّbelongsبِبَابٍto a chapterمِنَofالْأَبْوَابِthe chapters
belongs to one of the chapters
أَوْorفَصْلٍsectionمِنَofالْفُصُولِthe sections
or one of the sections.
أُسْلُوبُStyleسُوَرِof surahsالْقُرْآنِof the QuranالْكَرِيمِNoble
The style of the surahs of the Noble Quran
كَأُسْلُوبِis like the styleفَرَامِينِof decreesالْمُلُوكِof kingsوَرَسَائِلِهِمْand their letters
is like the style of kings' decrees and their letters:
بَلْRatherافْتُرِضَis imaginedالْقُرْآنُthe QuranالْكَرِيمُNoble
Rather, the Noble Quran is imagined
كَمَجْمُوعَةِas a collectionالرَّسَائِلِof lettersوَالْفَرَامِينِand decrees
as a collection of letters and decrees
الَّتِيwhichيُوَجِّهُهَاdirectالْمُلُوكُthe kingsوَالسَّلَاطِينُand sultans
which kings and sultans direct
إِلَىtoرَعَايَاهُمْtheir subjectsحَسَبَaccording toمُقْتَضَيَاتِdemandsالْأَحْوَالِof circumstances
to their subjects according to the demands of circumstances
وَمُتَطَلَّبَاتِand requirementsالظُّرُوفِof conditions
and requirements of conditions,
وَيُوَجِّهُونَand they directوَاحِدَةًoneثُمَّthenأُخْرَىanother
and they direct one then another
فَثَالِثَةًthen a thirdفَرَابِعَةًthen a fourthوَهَلُمَّ جَرَّاand so on
then a third, then a fourth, and so on,
حَتَّىuntilتَجْتَمِعَgatherنَمَادِجُmodelsكَثِيرَةٌmanyمِنْfromهَذِهِtheseالْفَرَامِينِdecrees
until many examples of these decrees gather,
فَيَقُومَso undertakesشَخْصٌa personبِتَدْوِينِهَاby recording themوَتَرْتِيبِand arrangingمَجْمُوعَةٍa collectionلَهَاfor them
so a person undertakes to record them and arrange a collection for them.
الْقُرْآنُThe Quranفِيinعَهْدِthe eraالرَّسُولِof the Messengerصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَpeace and blessings be upon him
The Quran in the era of the Messenger - peace and blessings be upon him:
وَهَكَذَاAnd thusالْمَالِكُthe Ownerعَلَىuponالْإِطْلَاقِabsoluteجَلَّ ثَنَاؤُهُGlorified is His praise
And thus the absolute Owner - Glorified is His praise -
أَنْزَلَsent downعَلَىuponنَبِيِّهِHis Prophetالْمُصْطَفَىthe Chosenصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَpeace and blessings be upon him
sent down upon His Chosen Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him -
لِهِدَايَةِfor guidanceعِبَادِهِof His servantsوَإِرْشَادِهِمْand directing themحَسَبَaccording toمُقْتَضَيَاتِdemands
for the guidance of His servants and directing them according to demands
