The explanation of the linguistic grammarians:
وَطَائِفَةٌAnd a groupاشْتَغَلَتْbusy themselvesبِبَيَانِwith clarifyingلُغَةِthe language ofالْقُرْآنِthe Quranوَإِعْرَابِهِand its parsing
And a group was busy with clarifying the language of the Quran and its parsing
(وَجُمَلِهِ(and its sentencesوَمُفْرَدَاتِهِ)and its vocabulary)وَأَوْرَدُواand they citedالشَّوَاهِدَthe proofsالْكَثِيرَةَmanyمِنْfrom
and its sentences and vocabulary, and they cited many proofs from
كَلَامِthe speech ofالْعَرَبِthe Arabsفِيinكُلِّeveryبَابٍchapterمِنَofالْأَبْوَابِ،the chapters,
the speech of the Arabs in every chapter of the chapters,
وَهَذَاand thisمَذْهَبُis the method ofالنُّحَاةِthe grammariansاللُّغَوِيِّينَ.linguistic.
and this is the method of the linguistic grammarians.

[The explanation of the brilliant literati:]
وَتَوَجَّهَتْAnd turnedجَمَاعَةٌa groupإِلَىtoإِشْبَاعِexhaustingالْكَلَامِspeechفِيin
And a group turned to exhausting speech in
اللَّطَائِفِsubtletiesوَالنُّكَاتِand witty pointsمِنَfromالْمَعَانِيmeaningsوَالْبَيَانِ،and rhetoric,
subtleties and witty points of meanings and rhetoric,
وَأَوْفَوْاand they gaveالْكَلَامَspeechحَقَّهُits dueوَجَاؤُواand they broughtبِآيَاتِverses ofالْبَلَاغَةِeloquence
and they gave speech its due and brought verses of eloquence
وَرَوَائِعِand wonders ofالْبَيَانِ،rhetoric,وَهَذَاand this isهُوَitمَسْلَكُthe path ofالْأُدَبَاءِthe literatiالْبَارِعِينَ.brilliant.
and wonders of rhetoric, and this is the path of the brilliant literati.
تَفْسِيرُExplanation ofالْقُرَّاءِthe recitersالْمَاهِرِينَ:skilled:
Explanation of the skilled reciters:
وَاهْتَمَّAnd some of them caredبَعْضُهُمْaboutبِرِوَايَةِnarratingالْقِرَاءَاتِthe readingsالْمَأْثُورَةِtransmitted
And some of them cared about narrating the transmitted readings
عَنْfromشُيُوخِهِمْtheir sheikhsفِيinالْقُرْآنِthe Quranالْكَرِيمِ،noble,
from their sheikhs in the noble Quran,
وَلَمْand they did notيَدَعُواleaveدَقِيقاًsubtleوَلَاnorجَلِيلًاmajesticفِيin
and they did not leave subtle nor majestic in
هَذَاthisالْبَابِchapterإِلَّاexceptجَاؤُواthey broughtبِهِ،it,وَهَذِهِand this is
this chapter except they brought it, and this is
هِيَitصِفَةُthe attribute ofالْقُرَّاءِthe recitersالْمَاهِرِينَ.skilled.
the attribute of the skilled reciters.
[تَفْسِيرُ[Explanation ofالصُّوفِيَّةِthe Sufisالْمُتَنَسِّكِينَ:]devout:]
[Explanation of the devout Sufis:]
وَاعْتَنَىAnd caredرِجَالٌmenبِبَيَانِfor clarifyingلَطَائِفِsubtleties ofعِلْمِthe science ofالسُّلُوكِconduct
And men cared for clarifying the subtleties of the science of conduct
وَعِلْمِand the science ofالْحَقَائِقِrealitiesبِأَدْنَىwith the slightestمُنَاسَبَةٍrelationلُغَوِيَّةٍlinguistic
and the science of realities with the slightest linguistic relation
بِالْآيَاتِto the versesالْكَرِيمَةِ،noble,وَهَذَاand this isهُوَitمَشْرَبُthe drink ofالصُّوفِيَّةِthe Sufisالْمُتَنَسِّكِينَ.devout.
to the noble verses, and this is the path of the devout Sufis.
وَبِالْجُمْلَةِAnd in summaryفَإِنَّهُit isمَجَالٌa fieldوَاسِعٌ،vast,وَقَصْدُand the intention of
And in summary it is a vast field, and the intention of
كُلِّeveryمُسْلِمٍMuslimيَتَعَلَّقُrelatesبِتَفْهِيمِto making understoodمَعَانِيmeanings ofالْقُرْآنِthe Quran
every Muslim relates to making understood the meanings of the Quran
الْكَرِيمِnobleوَمَطَالِبِهِ،and its demands,وَقَدْand indeedخَاضَdove intoكُلٌّeachمِنْهُمْof them
noble and its demands, and indeed each of them dove into
فِيinفَنٍّan artمِنْfrom
