٣3--ثَالِثاًَ:Third:بَيَانُexplanationإِجْمَاعِof the consensusالْأَنْبِيَاءِof the prophetsوَالْمُرْسَلِينَand messengers

Third: Explanation of the consensus of the prophets and messengers

عَلَىonهَذِهِthisالْحَقِيقَةِgreatالْكُبْرَى:truth:

on this great truth:

{وَمَاAnd whatأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentمِنْofقَبْلِكَbefore youمِنْanyرَسُولٍmessengerإِلَّاexceptنُوحِيWe revealإِلَيْهِto himأَنَّهُthatلَاnoإِلَهَgodإِلَّاexceptأَنَاMeفَاعْبُدُونِ}so worship Me}

{And We did not send any messenger before you except that We revealed to him that there is no god except Me, so worship Me}

٤4--رَابِعاً:Fourth:بَيَانُexplanationشَنَاعَةِof the uglinessعِبَادَةِof the worshipالْأَصْنَامِ،of idols,

Fourth: Explanation of the ugliness of idol worship

وَأَنَّand thatالْأَحْجَارَstonesسَاقِطَةٌfall shortعَنْofمَرْتَبَةِthe rankالْكَمَالِof humanالْإِنْسَانِيِّperfection

and that stones fall short of the rank of human perfection

فَكَيفَso howتَظَلُّcan they remainبِمَرْتَبَةِat the rankالْأُلُوهِيَّةِ،of divinity,

so how can they remain at the rank of divinity,

يَسْجُدُprostrated toلَهَاfor themوَيُتَوَجَّهُand turned towardsإِلَيْهَا!them!

prostrated to and turned towards!

وَمِثْلُAnd likeهَذَاthisالرَّدِّrefutationوَالتَّفْنِيدِand debunkingلِأُولَئِكَfor thoseالْمُشْرِكِينَpolytheistsالَّذِينَwhoكَانُواused toيَعْتَقِدُونَbelieveهَذِهِtheseالْأَصْنَامَidolsآلِهَةًgodsمَعْبُودَةًworshipedلِذَاتِهَا.for themselves.

And like this refutation and debunking for those polytheists who used to believe these idols were gods worshiped for themselves.

[الرَّدُّ[The refutationعَلَىofالتَّشْبِيهِ:]anthropomorphism:]

[The refutation of anthropomorphism:]

وَكَانَAnd theالرَّدُّrefutationعَلَىofالتَّشْبِيهِanthropomorphismبِعِدَّةِwas by severalطُرُقٍ:ways:

And the refutation of anthropomorphism was by several ways:

١1--أَوَّلاً:First:بِمُطَالَبَتِهِمْby demanding from themبِالدَّلِيلِthe proofعَلَىforدَعْوَاهُمْ،their claim,وَنَقْضِand invalidatingتَمَسُّكِهِمْtheir adherenceبِتَقْلِيدِto the imitation ofآبَائِهِمْ.their fathers.

First: By demanding proof for their claim from them, and invalidating their adherence to the imitation of their fathers.

٢2--ثَانِياً:Second:بِبَيَانِby explainingضَرُورَةِthe necessityالتَّجَانُسِof homogeneityبَيْنَbetweenالْوَالِدِthe parentوَالْوَلَدِ،and the child,

Second: By explaining the necessity of homogeneity between the parent and the child,

(لِلرَّدِّ(to refuteعَلَىthe doctrineعَقِيدَةِofالْأَبْنِيَةِ)sonship)وَظَاهِرَةِand the phenomenonأَنَّهُthat it isمَفْقُودٌ،missing,بَادٍevidentذَلِكَthatلِلْعِيَانِ.to the naked eye.

(to refute the doctrine of sonship) and the phenomenon that it is missing, that being evident to the naked eye.

٣3--ثَالِثاً:Third:بَيَانُexplanationشَنَاعَةِof the uglinessنِسْبَةِof attributingمَاwhatهُوَisمَكْرُوهٌdislikedوَمَذْمُومٌand blameworthyلَدَيْهِمْto them

Third: Explanation of the ugliness of attributing what is disliked and blameworthy to them

--كَمَا- asتَدُلُّpointsعَلَىtoذَلِكَthatمَوَاقِفُهُمْtheir stances ---إِلَىtoاللَّهِGod--تَعَالَىthe Exalted--

- as their stances indicate that - to God - the Exalted -

قَالَHe saidتَعَالَىthe Exalted{أَلِرَبِّكَ{Is for your Lordالْبَنَاتُthe daughtersوَلَهُمُand for themالْبَنُونَ}the sons}

He said the Exalted {Is for your Lord the daughters and for them the sons}
