الرَّدُّThe responseعَلَىtoمُنْكِرِيthe deniersالرَّسَالَةِ:of the message:
The response to the deniers of the message:
وَكَانَAnd wasالرَّدُّthe responseعَلَىtoالْمُنْكِرِينَthe deniersلِلرَّسَالَةِof the message
And the response to those who denied the message
وَالْمُسْتَبْعِدِينَand considered it unlikelyلَهَاitبِالْوُجُوهِby the waysالتَّالِيَةِ:following:
and considered it unlikely was by the following ways:
1 - The occurrence of the message and its realization for past prophets.
{وَمَا{And notأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentمِنْfromقَبْلِكَbefore youإِلَّاexceptرِجَالًاmenنُوحِيWe revealإِلَيْهِمْ}to them}
{And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed}.
{وَيَقُولُ{And saysالَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواdisbelievedلَسْتَyou are notمُرْسَلًاa messenger
{And those who disbelieve say, 'You are not a messenger.'}
قُلْSayكَفَى'Sufficient isبِاللَّهِAllahشَهِيدًاas Witnessبَيْنِيbetween meوَبَيْنَكُمْand between you
Say, 'Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you
وَمَنْand whoeverعِنْدَهُwith him isعِلْمُknowledgeالْكِتَابِ}of the Book}'
and whoever has knowledge of the Book.'
2 - The response to the deeming unlikely of the message and finding it strange
بِأَنَّهَاin that it-_ - هُنَاhere-_ - عِبَارَةٌis an expressionعَنِofالْوَحْيِdivine revelationالْإِلَهِيِّdivine
that it - here - is an expression of divine revelation
(الَّذِي(whichيَتَلَقَّاهُreceives itرَجُلٌa manمِنَfromالْبَشَرِmankindبِاصْطِفَاءِby the selectionاللَّهِof Allahإِيَّاهُ).him).
(which a man from mankind receives by Allah's selection of him).
{قُلْ{Say,إِنَّمَاonlyأَنَاI amبَشَرٌa manمِثْلُكُمْlike youيُوحَىit is revealedإِلَيَّ}to me}
{Say, 'I am only a man like you, to whom it is revealed'}.
وَتَفْسِيرُAnd explainingالْوَحْيِrevelationبِمَاin a way thatلَاdoes notيَكُونُbecomeمِنَfromالْمُسْتَحِيلَاتِ.the impossibilities.
And explaining revelation in a way that is not among impossibilities.
{وَمَا{And notكَانَit isلِبَشَرٍfor any humanأَنْthatيُكَلِّمَهُspeaks to himاللَّهُAllahإِلَّاexceptوَحْيًاby revelation
{And it is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation
أَوْorمِنْfromوَرَاءِbehindحِجَابٍa partitionأَوْorيُرْسِلَHe sendsرَسُولًاa messenger
or from behind a partition or that He sends a messenger
فَيُوحِيَso he revealsبِإِذْنِهِby His permissionمَاwhatيَشَاءُHe willsإِنَّهُIndeed, He isعَلِيُّExaltedحَكِيمٌ}Wise}
to reveal by His permission what He wills. Indeed, He is Exalted and Wise}.
