كُلُّEveryمِلَّةٍsectفِيinقَوَالِبِmolds ofالْأَلْفَاظِthe expressionsوَالْكَلِمَاتِand wordsالْمَعْرُوفَةِknownالسَّائِدَةِand prevalentفِيهِمْamong themلِهَذِهِfor theseالْمَعَانِيmeanings
Every sect expresses these meanings in the molds of expressions and words known and prevalent among them.
فَمَاSo what isالْغَرَابَةُthe strangenessإِذَنْ،then,لَوْifذُكِرَتْwas mentionedكَلِمَةُthe word"الْأَبْنَاءِ""the sons"بَدَلَinstead ofالْمَحْبُوبِينَ!؟the beloved ones!?
So what is the strangeness, then, if the word "sons" was mentioned instead of the beloved ones!?
وَلَكِنَّAnd butالْيَهُودَthe Jewsظَنُّواthoughtأَنَّthatهَذَاthisالتَّشْرِيفَhonorيَدُورُrevolvesعَلَىaroundاسْمِthe nameالْيَهُودِيِّJewوَالْعِبْرِيِّand Hebrewوَالْإِسْرَائِيلِيِّ،and Israeli,
But the Jews thought that this honor revolves around the name of the Jew, the Hebrew, and the Israeli,
وَلَمْand they did notيَعْرِفُواknowأَنَّthatهَذَاthisالتَّشْرِيفَhonorلَيْسَis notلِاسْمٍfor a nameدُونَrather thanاسْمٍ،another name,
and they did not know that this honor is not for a name to the exclusion of another name,
إِنَّمَاratherهُوَit isلِأَجْلِfor the sake ofالِانْقِيَادِsubmissionوَالطَّاعَةِ،and obedience,وَالْخُضُوعِ،and humility,وَالسَّيْرِand walkingعَلَىonطَرِيقِthe path ofالْأَنْبِيَاءِthe prophetsوَالْمُرْسَلِينَ،and messengers,لَيْسَnotغَيْرَ.otherwise.
rather it is for the sake of submission, obedience, humility, and following the path of the prophets and messengers, nothing else.
وَهُنَاAnd hereكَثِيرٌare manyمِنْofأَمْثَالِlikes ofهَذِهِtheseالتَّأْوِيلَاتِinterpretationsالْفَاسِدَةِcorruptالَّتِيthatرَكَزَتْbecame entrenchedفِيinنُفُوسِهِمْ،their souls,
And here are many of such corrupt interpretations that became entrenched in their souls,
وَتَلَقَّوْهَاand they received themوَتَوَارَثُوهَاand inherited themعَنْfromآبَائِهِمْ،their fathers,وَقَدْand indeedتَكَفَّلَhas undertakenالْقُرْآنُthe QuranالْكَرِيمُNobleبِرَدِّهَاrefuting themوَرَفْعِand liftingهَذِهِtheseالشُّبُهَاتِdoubtsوَدَحْضِهَاand refuting themوَإِبْطَالِهَاand invalidating themأَتَمَّthe most completeإِبْطَالٍ.invalidation.
and they received them and inherited them from their fathers, and the Noble Quran has undertaken to refute them, remove these doubts, debunk them, and invalidate them most completely.
كِتْمَانُConcealment ofالْآيَاتِthe verses
Concealment of the Verses
أَمَّاAs forكِتْمَانُconcealment ofالْآيَاتِthe verses,فَإِنَّindeedالْيَهُودَthe Jewsكَانُواused toلِأَجْلِfor the sake ofالْمُحَافَظَةِpreservingعَلَىaجَاهٍstatusشَرِيفٍnobleأَوْorكَبِيرٍ،great,
As for the concealment of the verses, the Jews used to, in order to preserve a noble or great status,
أَوْorلِطَلَبِfor seekingمَنْصِبٍa positionأَوْorرِئَاسَةٍleadership,يُخْفُونَhideبَعْضَsomeالْأَحْكَامِrulingsوَالْآيَاتِand versesمِنَfromالتَّوْرَاةِ،the Torah,
or for seeking a position or leadership, conceal some rulings and verses from the Torah,
حَتَّىso thatلَاnotيَذْهَبَfadeاعْتِقَادُthe belief ofالنَّاسِpeopleفِيهِمْin themبِتَرْكِهِمْdue to their abandoningلِلْعَمَلِworkingبِهَا،by them,وَانْصِرَافِهِمْand turning awayعَنْهَا،from them,وَلِنَذْكُرَand let us mentionبَعْضَsomeالْأَمْثِلَةِexamplesمِنْهُ.thereof.
so that people's belief in them does not fade due to their abandoning working by them and turning away from them, and let us mention some examples thereof.
1 - Among those rulings was the ruling of stoning the adulterer, which was explicitly stated in the Torah, but due to the consensus of their rabbis on abandoning
