الْقُرْآنُThe Quranأَجْمَلُis more generalوَالسُّنَّةُand the Sunnahفَصَّلَتْ:detailed.
The Quran is more general and the Sunnah detailed it:
وَقَدْAnd indeedجَاءَتْhave comeأَحْكَامُrulings ofالصَّلَاةِthe prayerوَمَسَائِلُهَاand its issuesفِيinالْقُرْآنِthe Quranالْعَظِيمِthe Magnificentمُجْمَلَةًsummarized.
And indeed the rulings of the prayer and its issues have come in the Magnificent Quran summarized.
وَاسْتُعْمِلَAnd was usedلَفْظُthe word"الْإِقَامَةِ"،"Al-Iqamah",لِلصَّلَاةِ،for the prayer,الَّذِيwhichتَنَاوَلَهُhandled itالنَّبِيُّthe Prophet- صَلَّى- peaceاللَّهُbe uponعَلَيْهِhimوَسَلَّمَ -and blessings -بِالتَّفْصِيلِwith detailبِالْأَمْرِby commandingبِبِنَاءِto buildالْمَسَاجِدِthe mosquesوَالْجَمَاعَةِand the congregationوَبَيَانِand clarifyingالْمَوَاقِيتِ،the times,
And the word "Al-Iqamah" was used for the prayer, which the Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - handled in detail by commanding the building of mosques, the congregation, and clarifying the times,
كَذَلِكَLikewiseوَرَدَتْcameأَحْكَامُrulings ofالزَّكَاةِZakatبِاخْتِصَارٍwith brevityوَإِيجَازٍ،and conciseness,
Likewise, the rulings of Zakat came with brevity and conciseness,
وَفَصَّلَهَاand detailed itالنَّبِيُّthe Prophet- صَلَّى- peaceاللَّهُbe uponعَلَيْهِhimوَسَلَّمَ -and blessings -أَيَّمَاeveryتَفْصِيلٍ،detail,
and the Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - detailed it thoroughly,
وَجَاءَAnd cameذِكْرُmention ofالصَّوْمِfastingأَيْضاًalsoفِيinسُورَةِSurahالْبَقَرَةِ،Al-Baqarah,
and the mention of fasting also came in Surah Al-Baqarah,
وَالْحَجُّand Hajjوَالْجِهَادُand Jihadوَالْقِتَالُand fightingفِيinسُورَتَيْtwo SurahsالْبَقَرَةِAl-Baqarahوَالْأَنْفَالِand Al-Anfalوَمَوَاضِعَand placesمُتَفَرِّقَةٍscatteredأُخْرَى،other,
and Hajj, Jihad, and fighting in the two Surahs Al-Baqarah and Al-Anfal and other scattered places,
وَذُكِرَand was mentionedالْحُدُودُthe legal punishmentsفِيinسُورَةِSurahالْمَائِدَةِAl-Ma'idahوَالنُّورِand An-Nur
and the legal punishments were mentioned in Surah Al-Ma'idah and An-Nur,
وَجَاءَتِand cameالْمَوَارِيثُthe inheritancesفِيinسُورَةِSurahالنِّسَاءِ،An-Nisa,
and the inheritances came in Surah An-Nisa,
وَأَحْكَامُand rulings ofالنِّكَاحِmarriageوَالطَّلَاقِand divorceفِيinسُورَةِSurahالْبَقَرَةِAl-Baqarahوَالنِّسَاءِand An-Nisaوَالطَّلَاقِ،and At-Talaq,وَغَيْرِهَاand othersمِنَfromالسُّوَرِ.the Surahs.
and the rulings of marriage and divorce in Surah Al-Baqarah, An-Nisa, and At-Talaq, and other Surahs.
قِسْمٌA sectionآخَرُotherمِنَofالْأَحْكَامِthe rulingsفِيinالْقُرْآنِ:the Quran:
Another section of the rulings in the Quran:
وَبَعْدَAnd afterأَنْthatمَضَىpassedهَذَاthisالْقِسْمُsectionمِنَofالْأَحْكَامِthe rulingsالَّذِيwhichتَعُمُّencompassesفَائِدَتُهُits benefitجَمِيعَallأَفْرَادِmembers ofالْأُمَّةِ،the nation,
And after this section of rulings passed, whose benefit encompasses all members of the nation,
تَذْكُرُyou rememberقِسْماًa sectionآخَرَother(يَتَعَلَّقُ(pertainingبِالْحَوَادِثِto the eventsوَالْوَقَائِعِand incidentsالْخَاصَّةِspecificوَإِنْeven ifكَانَwasحُكْمُهَاits rulingعَامّاً)general)
you remember another section (pertaining to specific events and incidents even if its ruling was general)
وَكَانَتْand wereصُوَرُforms ofتَشْرِيعِهِits legislationكَمَاasتَلِي:follows:
and the forms of its legislation were as follows:
* Sometimes they would ask in the presence of the Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - about something, and the Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - would reply (so that becomes a way for legislation).
