حَذْفُOmissionخَبَرِof the predicate ofإِنَّInnaوَجَزَاءِand the response ofالشَّرْطِthe conditional sentenceوَغَيْرِand otherذَلِكَthat
Omission of the predicate of Inna, the response of the conditional sentence, and other such things:
وَلْيُعْلَمْAnd let it be knownأَنَّthatحَذْفَomission ofخَبَرِthe predicate ofإِنَّInna
And let it be known that the omission of the predicate of Inna
أَوْorحَذْفَomission ofجَزَاءِthe response ofالشَّرْطِthe condition
or the omission of the response of the condition
أَوْorمَفْعُولِthe object ofالْفِعْلِthe verb
or the object of the verb
أَوْorمُبْتَدَأِthe subject ofالْجُمْلَةِthe sentence
or the subject of the sentence
وَأَمْثَالَand similarذَلِكَto that
and similar things
إِذَاwhenكَانَwhat isمَاwhatبَعْدَهُcomes after it
when what comes after it
يَدُلُّindicatesعَلَيْهِit
points to it
مُطْتَرِدٌis regular and consistentفِيinالْقُرْآنِthe Quranالْحَكِيمِthe Wise
is consistent in the Wise Quran
وَتَكْثُرُand are frequentأَمْثِلَتُهُits examples
and its examples are frequent.
مِثَالُExample ofحَذْفِthe omission ofالْمَفْعُولِthe object
Example of the omission of the object:
قَوْلُهُHis sayingتَعَالَىHe, the Most High
His saying - the Most High -:
فَلَوْAnd ifشَاءَHe had willedلَهَدَاكُمْHe would have guided youأَجْمَعِينَall
{And if He had willed, He would have guided you all}
أَيْmeaningفَلَوْifشَاءَHe willedهِدَايَتَكُمْguidance for youلَهَدَاكُمْHe would have guided you
meaning: And if He had willed your guidance, He would have guided you.
مِثَالُExample ofحَذْفِthe omission ofالْمُبْتَدَأِthe subject
Example of the omission of the subject:
قَوْلُهُHis sayingتَعَالَىthe Most High
His saying - the Most High -:
الْحَقُّThe truthمِنْfromرَبِّكَyour Lord
{The truth is from your Lord}
أَيْmeaningهَذَاthisالْحَقُّtruthمِنْis fromرَبِّكَyour Lord
meaning: This is the truth from your Lord.
أَمْثِلَةٌExamplesأُخْرَىotherمُتَفَرِّقَةٌvarious

قَوْلُهُHis sayingتَعَالَىthe Most High
His saying - the Most High -:
لَاNotيَسْتَوِيare equalمِنْكُمْamong youمَنْhe whoأَنْفَقَspentمِنْfromقَبْلِbeforeالْفَتْحِthe conquestوَقَاتَلَand fought
{Not equal among you is he who spent before the conquest and fought}
أُولَئِكَThoseأَعْظَمُare greater inدَرَجَةًrankمِنَthanالَّذِينَthose whoأَنْفَقُواspentمِنْafterبَعْدُwardsوَقَاتَلُواand fought
{Those are greater in rank than those who spent afterwards and fought}
الْآيَةُthe verseأَيْmeaningلَاnotيَسْتَوِيequalمَنْis he whoأَنْفَقَspentمِنْfromقَبْلِbeforeالْفَتْحِthe conquest
the verse, meaning: He who spent before the conquest is not equal
وَمَنْand he whoأَنْفَقَspentمِنْfromبَعْدِafterالْفَتْحِthe conquest
to he who spent after the conquest
فَحَذَفَso he omittedالثَّانِيَthe second oneلِدَلَالَةِdue to the indication ofقَوْلِهُHis sayingتَعَالَىthe Most High
so he omitted the second part due to the indication of His saying - the Most High -:
أُولَئِكَThoseأَعْظَمُare greater inدَرَجَةًrankمِنَthanالَّذِينَthose whoأَنْفَقُواspentمِنْafterبَعْدُwards
{Those are greater in rank than those who spent afterwards}
وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمُto themاتَّقُواFearمَاwhat isبَيْنَbetweenأَيْدِيكُمْyour hands
{And when it is said to them, Fear what is before you}
وَمَاand whatخَلْفَكُمْis behind youلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتُرْحَمُونَreceive mercy٤٥(45)
{and what is behind you that you may receive mercy (45)}
وَمَاAnd notتَأْتِيهِمْcomes to themمِنْfromآيَةٍa signمِنْfromآيَاتِthe signs ofرَبِّهِمْtheir Lord
{And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord}
إِلَّاexceptكَانُواthey wereعَنْهَاfrom it
{except that they were from it...}
