After that, but without any result, he learns well the letters H, Kh, D, R, but as soon as he learns these letters, he forgets what comes after them. In the end, he decided to stay within the limits of the first four letters, writing them once or twice a day to refresh his memory. Molly refused to learn the alphabet, except for the five letters that make up her name. She wrote them skillfully with twigs, then adorned them with one or two flowers and admiredly surrounded them with a circle.

It was also observed that most of the animals, like sheep and chickens and ducks, are not able to memorize the seven commandments by heart.

And after a long thought, Snowball expressed his intention to shorten the seven commandments to one slogan which is as follows: Yes for those with four legs, no for those with two legs.

At first, the birds objected, saying that they are the other kind that have legs, but Snowball demonstrated their mistake, saying: "Indeed, the wings of the birds, O companions, are organs of movement and not for control, and thus they should be considered as legs; this is known - and the hand is the distinguishing mark of man, the hand that controls, the hand of gluttony."
