With the approaching winter season, Molly increased her committing of foolishness.

كَانَتْshe wasتَتَأَخَّرُbeing lateعَنْforعَمَلِهَاher workكُلَّeveryصَبَاحٍmorningوَتَقَدَّمَتْand she gaveأَعْذَارًاexcusesمِنْofقَبِيلَlikeأَنَّهَاthat sheلَمْdid notتَسْتَيْقِظْwake upبَاكِرًاearlyوَأَنَّهَاand that sheتُعَانِيsuffersمِنْfromآلَامٍpainsخَاصَّةًspecial

She was being late for her work every morning, and she gave excuses like that she did not wake up early, and that she suffers from special pains.

رَغْمَdespiteشَهِيَّتِهَاher appetiteالْقَوِيَةِstrongوَلَأَدْنَىand for the slightestسَبَبٍreasonتُغَادِرُshe leavesعَمَلَهَاher workوَتَهْرُبُand escapesإِلَىtoالْمَوْرِدِthe watering placeكَيْtoتَتَمَرَّنَshe trainsعَلَىonالْمَاءِwaterمِثْلَlikeالْحَمْقَىthe foolish

Despite her strong appetite, and for the slightest reason, she leaves her work and escapes to the watering place to train on water like the foolish.

لَكِنَّbutهُنَاكَthere areإِشَاعَاتٍrumorsأُخْرَىotherتُرَوِّجُcirculatedحَوْلَهَاabout her

But there are other rumors circulating about her.

ذَاتَoneيَوْمٍdayوَهِيَand sheتَتَقَدَّمُis advancingفِيinالسَّاحَةِthe squareخَفِيفَةًlightlyتَخُبُّshe trotsوَهِيَand sheتُحَرِّكَmovesذَيْلَهَاher tailبِغَنْجٍwith graceوَتَمْضَغُand chewsالْحَشِيشَthe grass

One day, as she was advancing in the square, lightly trotting and moving her tail with grace while chewing the grass,

فَأَخَذَتْهَاClover took her«كُلُوفَرَ»Cloverعَلَىasideحِدِّهَاaway

Clover took her aside.

مُولِّيMollyخَاطَبَتْهَاaddressed herقَائِلَةًsayingأُرِيدُI wantأَنْtoأُحَدِّثُكَspeak to youبِكُلِّwith allجِدٍّseriousness

Molly addressed her saying, 'I want to speak to you with all seriousness.'

لَقَدْI haveرَأَيْتُكِseen youهَذَاthisالصَّبَاحَmorningوَأَنْتِand youتَنْظُرِينَare lookingمِنْfromوَرَاءَbehindالسِّيَاجِthe fenceالَّذِيwhichيَفْصِلُseparatesبَيْنَbetweenفُوكْسْوُودFoxwood

I have seen you this morning, and you are looking from behind the fence which separates between Foxwood and the farm.

وَكَانَand there wasأَحَدٌoneرِجَالِof the menالسَّيِّدِMr.بيلنغتونBellington

And there was one of Mr. Bellington's men standing on the other side.

لَقَدْI haveكُنتُbeenعَلَىatبُعْدٍa distanceأَعْتَرِفُI admitبِذَٰلِكَthat......لَكِنَّنِيbut Iأكَادُalmostأَكُونَbeمُتَأَكِّدَةًcertain

I have been at a distance, I admit that... but I am almost certain.

رَأَيْتُهُI saw himوَهُوَand heيُحَدِّثُكَis talking to youوَيُدَاعِبُand is caressingخَطْمَكَyour snout

I saw him and he is talking to you and caressing your snout.

مَاذَاwhatتَعْنِيdoes it meanتِلْكَthatمِسَافَةٌdistance

What does that distance mean?
