مُقَدِّمَةٌIntroduction:
Introduction
بِسْمِIn the nameاللَّهِof Allahالرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful,وَالصَّلَاةِand peaceوَالسَّلاَمِand blessingsعَلَىuponنَبِيِّنَاour ProphetمُحَمَّدٍMuhammad,وَعَلَىand uponآلِهِhis familyوَأَصْحَابِهِand his companionsأَجْمَعِينَall together.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and companions all together.
أَمَّاAs forبَعْدَafter:
As for what follows:
فَإنَّIndeedهَذَاthisالْكِتَابَbookالَّذِيthatيُسَمَّىis called«العَقِيدَةُ"the Creedالْوَاسِطِيَّةُ»al-Wasitiyyah",أَلَّفَهُwas authored byحَبْرٌthe scholarالأُمَّةِof the Ummahفِيinزَمَانِهِhis timeأَبُوAbuالْعَبَّاسِAl-Abbas,شَيْخُthe Sheikhالإِسْلَامِof Islam,أَحْمَدُAhmadابْنُbinعَبْدِAbdالْحَلِيمِAl-HalimابْنُbinعَبْدِAbdالسَّلاَمِAl-SalamابْنُbinتَيْمِيَّةَTaymiyyahالْحَرَانِيِّAl-Harraniرَحِمَهُmay Allah have mercy on himاللَّهُAllah،الْمُتَوَفَّىwho diedسَنَةَin the year٧٢٨728ﻫـAH.
Indeed, this book that is called "the Creed of al-Wasitiyyah" was authored by the scholar of the Ummah in his time, Abu al-Abbas, the Sheikh of Islam, Ahmad ibn Abdul Halim ibn Abdul Salam ibn Taymiyyah al-Harrani, may Allah have mercy on him, who died in the year 728 AH.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for thisالرَّجُلُmanمِنْofالْمَقَامِthe stations-الَّتِيwhichيُشْكَرُare thankedعَلَيْهَاfor itوَالَّتِيand whichنَرْجُوwe hopeمِنَfromاللَّهِAllahلَهُfor himالْمَثُوبَةَthe rewardsعَلَيْهَاfor itفِيinالدِّفَاعِdefenseعَنْofالْحَقِّthe truthوَمُهَاجَمَةِand attackingأَهْلِthe peopleالْبَاطِلِof falsehoodمَاwhatيَعْلَمُهُhe knowsكُلُّeveryoneمِنْwhoتَتَبَّعَfollowedكُتُبَهُhis books،وَسَبَرَهَاand explored themوَالْحَقِيقَةُand the truthأَنَّهُis that heمِنْofنِعَمِthe blessingsاللَّهِAllahعَلَىuponهَذِهِthisالأُمَّةِUmmah؛لَأَنَّbecauseاللَّهَAllahسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himوَتَعَالَىand exalted be Heكَفَّpreventedبِهِby himأُمُورًاmattersعَظِيمَةًgreatخَطِيرَةًseriousعَلَىagainstالْعَقِيدَةِthe creedالإِسْلَامِيَّةِIslamic
And for this man, there are stations for which he should be praised and we hope from Allah for him the rewards for them in defending the truth and attacking the people of falsehood, what is known by everyone who has followed his books and explored them. The truth is that he is one of the blessings of Allah upon this Ummah; because Allah, Glory be to Him and exalted be He, has prevented by him great and serious matters against the Islamic creed.
وَهَذَاAnd thisالْكِتَابُbookكِتَابٌa bookمُخْتَصَرٌis a summary,يُسَمَّىis called«العَقِيدَةُ"the Creedالْوَاسِطِيَّةُof al-Wasitiyyah",أَلَّفَهُwas authored byشَيْخُthe Sheikhالإِسْلَامِof Islam;لِأَنَّهُbecauseحَضَرَa man came toإِلَيْهِhimرَجُلٌa manمِنْfromقُضَاةِthe judgesوَاسِطٍof Wasit,شَكَاcomplainedإِلَيْهِto himمَاwhatكَانَwasالنَّاسُpeopleيُعَانُونَsufferedمِنَfromالْمَذَاهِبِthe sectsالْمُنْحَرِفَةِthe deviantفِيمَاin matters relatedيَتَعَلَّقُrelatedبِأَسْمَاءِto the namesاللَّهِof Allah،وَandأَسْمَائِهِHis names.
And this book is a summary, called "the Creed of al-Wasitiyyah," was authored by the Sheikh of Islam; because a man from the judges of Wasit came to him and complained about what the people were suffering from the deviant sects in matters related to the names of Allah and His names.
