الطَّهَارَةُpurificationمِنَfromالنَّجَاسَةِimpurityأَوْorمِنَfromالْأَحْدَاثِdistractions
Purification from impurity or distractions is a condition for the validity of prayer.
خَوْفًاout of fearمِنْofأَنْthatتَفْسُدَit corruptsصَلَاتَنَاour prayer
Out of fear that our prayer might be corrupted.
لَكِنَّbutيَغِيبُit is absentعَنَّاfrom usكَثِيرًاa lotأَنْthatنَشْعُرُwe feelبِأَنَّthatهَذَاthisقُرْبَةٌa proximityوَسَبَبٌand a causeلِمَحَبَّةِfor the loveاللَّهِof Godلَنَاfor usلَوْifكُنَّاwe wereنَسْتَحْضِرُto be mindfulعِنْدَمَاwhenيَغْسِلُwashesالْإِنْسَانُthe personنُقْطَةًa dropبَوْلٍurineأَصَابَتْaffectedثَوْبَهُhis garmentأَنْthatذَاكَthatيُجَلِّبُbringsمَحَبَّةَloveاللَّهِGodلَهُfor himلَحَصَلْنَاwe would have attainedخَيْرًاgoodnessكَثِيرًاmuchلَكِنَّنَاbut weفِيinغَفْلَةٍheedlessness
But it is often absent from us that we should feel that this is a proximity and a cause for God's love for us. If we were to be mindful that when a person washes a drop of urine that has affected his garment, that brings God's love for him, we would have attained much goodness; but we are in heedlessness.
خامِسًاFifth::قَوْلُهُHis saying::قُلْSayإِنْifكُنتُمْyou areتُحِبُّونَyou loveاللَّهَAllahفَاتَّبِعُونِيthen follow meيُحْبِبْكُمُHe will love youاللَّهُAllahوَيَغْفِرْand forgiveلَكُمْfor youذُنُوبَكُمْyour sins
Fifth: His saying: 'Say, if you love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins.'
هَذَاThisأَيْضًاalsoيَسْتَوْجِبُrequiresأَنْthatنَحْرِصَwe striveغَايَةًto the utmostالْحِرْصَcarefulnessعَلَىonاتِّبَاعِfollowingالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetﷺ(peace be upon him)؛;بِحَيْثُin such a wayنَتَرَسَّمُwe traceطَرِيقَهُhis path;;لاdo notنَخْرُجُwe deviateمِنْهُfrom it,,وَلاand do notنَقْصُرُwe shortenعَنْهُfrom it,,وَلاand do notنَزِيدُwe increaseوَلاand do notنُنْقِصُwe decrease..
This also requires us to strive to the utmost on following the Prophet (peace be upon him), in such a way that we trace his path; we do not deviate from it, nor shorten it, nor increase or decrease it.
وَشُعُورُنَاAnd our feelingهَذَاthisيَحْمِينَاprotects usمِنَfromالْبِدَعِinnovation,,وَيَحْمِينَاand protects usمِنَfromالتَّقْصِيرِshortcomings,,وَيَحْمِينَاand protects usمِنَfromالزِّيَادَةِincreaseوَالْغُلُوِّand extremism
And this feeling protects us from innovation, and protects us from shortcomings, and protects us from increase and extremism.
وَلَوْIf onlyأَنَّنَاwe feelنَشْعُرُfeelبِهَذِهِwith thisالْأُمُورِmatters؛;فَانْظُرْthen seeكَيْفَhowيَكُونُit isسُلُوكُنَاour behaviorوَآدَابُنَاand our mannersوَأَخْلَاقُنَاand our moralsوَعِبَادَاتِنَاand our acts of worship
If only we were to feel this in our behavior; then see how our behavior, manners, morals, and acts of worship would be.
سَادِسًاSixth::قَوْلُهُHis saying::يَاOأَيُّهَاthose whoالَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواbelievedمَنْwhoيَرْتَدُّrenounceمِنكُمْamong youعَنْfromدِينِهِhis religion,,فَسَوْفَthen shortlyيَأْتِيwill comeاللَّهُAllahبِقَوْمٍwith a peopleيُحِبُّهُمْHe loves themوَيُحِبُّونَهُand they love Him
Sixth: His saying: 'O you who have believed, who among you renounces his religion, then shortly Allah will bring forth a people whom He loves and who love Him.'
نُحَذِّرُWe warnبِهِwith itمِنَfromالرِّدَّةِapostasyعَنْaboutالإِسْلاَمِIslam;:الَّتِيwhichمِنْهَاfrom itتُرْكُabandoningالصَّلَاةِthe prayerمَثَلاًfor example
We warn about apostasy from Islam; for example, abandoning the prayer.
فَإِذَاSo ifعَلِمْنَاwe knowأَنْthatاللَّهَAllahيُهَدِّدُنَاthreatens usبِأَنَّنَاthat weإِنْifارْتَدَدْنَاwe renounceعَنْfromدِينِنَاour religion;;أَهْلَكَناHe will destroy usاللَّهُAllahوَأَتَىand broughtبِقَوْمٍa peopleيُحِبُّهُمْHe loves themوَيُحِبُّونَهُand they love Him
So if we know that Allah threatens us that if we renounce our religion, He will destroy us and bring forth a people whom He loves and who love Him.
فَإِنَّنَاThen weنُلازِمُwe adhereطَاعَةَobedienceاللَّهِAllahوَالِابْتِعَادَand distancingعَنْfromكُلِّeveryمَاwhatيُقَرِّبُbrings nearلِلرِّدَّةِto apostasy
Then we adhere to obedience to Allah and distancing from everything that brings near to apostasy.
سَابِعًاSeventh::قَوْلُهُHis saying::إِنَّIndeedاللَّهَAllahيُحِبُّlovesالَّذِينَthose whoيُقَاتِلُونَfightفِيinسَبِيلِهِHis wayصَفًّاin rowsكَأَنَّهُمْas if theyبُنْيَانٌbuildingsمَرْصُوصٌfirmly compacted
Seventh: His saying: 'Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His way, in rows, as if they were a solid structure.'
إِذَاIfآمَنَّاwe believeبِهَذِهِin thisالْمَحَبَّةِlove؛:فَعَلْنَاwe doهَذِهِtheseالْأَسْبَابَcausesالْخَمْسَةِthe five
If we believe in this love; we do these five causes.
