لَكِنَbutمَعَwithالْأَسَفِsadnessالشَّدِيدِsevereأَيُّهَاOالإِخْوَةُbrothers::
But with great sadness, O brothers: among us are thousands of people who want to follow the path of the disbelievers in this world, so they made this world their main concern.
إنَّifمِنَّاamong usأُنَاسًاpeopleآلافًاthousands
Indeed, among us are thousands of people.
يُرِيدُونَthey wantأَنtoيَلْحَقُواjoinبِرَكْبِthe companyالْكُفَّارِof the disbelieversفِيinالدُّنْيَاthe worldحَتَّىuntilجَعَلُواthey madeالدُّنْيَاthe worldهِيَit isهِمَّهُمْtheir concern,,إنْifأُعْطُواthey are given؛;رَضُواthey are pleased,,وَإنْand ifلَمْnotيُعْطَوْاthey are not given؛;إِذاifهُمْtheyيَسْخَطُونَthey become angry
They want to join the ranks of the disbelievers in this world, so they made the world their main concern, if they are given, they are pleased, and if they are not given, then they become angry.
هَـؤُلَاءِTheseمَهْمَاhoweverبَلَغُواthey reachفِيinالرَّفَاهِيَةِluxuryالدُّنْيَوِيَّةِworldly؛;فَهُمْthey areفِيinجَحِيمٍhell؛;لَمْnotيَذُوقُواthey tasteلَذَّةَthe pleasureالدُّنْيَاof the worldأَبَدًاnever,,إنَّمَاratherذَاقَهَاhe tasted itمَنْwhoآمَنَbelievedبِاللَّهِin Allahوَعَمِلَand didصَالِحًاrighteous
These, no matter how much they reach in worldly luxury, they are in hell; they have never tasted the pleasure of the world, but rather, it is tasted by the one who believes in Allah and does righteous deeds.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for thisقَالَsaidبَعْضُsomeالسَّلَفِof the predecessors::وَاللَّهُBy Allah؛;لَوْifيَعْلَمُthey knewالْمُلُوكُthe kingsوَأَبْنَاءُand the sonsالْمُلُوكِof kingsمَاwhatنَحْنُwe areفِيهِin it؛;لَجَادَلُونَاthey would fight usعَلَيْهِabout itبِالسُّيوفِwith swords
And for this, some of the predecessors said: By Allah, if the kings and the sons of kings knew what we have, they would fight us for it with swords.
لأَنَّهُbecauseحَالٌthe situationبَيْنَهُمْbetween themوَبَيْنَand betweenهَذَاthisالنَّعِيمِblissمَاwhatهُمْtheyعَلَيْهِupon itمِنَofالْفُسُوقِimmoralityوَالْعِصْيَانِand disobedienceوَالْرُّكُونِand leaningإِلَىtowardsالدُّنْيَاthe worldوَأَنَّهَاand that itأَكْبَرُthe greatestهِمَّهُمْtheir concern,,وَمَبْلَغُand the maximumعِلْمِهِمof their knowledge
Because it is the situation that kept them from this bliss, that they are upon, from immorality, disobedience, and leaning towards the world, and that it is their greatest concern and the maximum of their knowledge.
قَوْلُهُHis saying::﴿رَحْمَةً"Mercy"وَعِلْمًاand "knowledge"﴾"::
His saying: "Mercy and knowledge."
تَمْيِيزٌDistinctionمَحُولٌtransferredعَنْfromالْفَاعِلِthe doer،,وَكَذَٰلِكَand likewiseوَعِلْمًاand "knowledge"؛;لِأَنَّbecauseالأَصْلُthe original::رَبَّنَاOur LordوَسِعْتَYou encompassedرَحْمَتَكَYour mercyوَعِلْمَكَand Your knowledgeكُلَّallشَيْءٍthing
Distinction transferred from the doer, and likewise "and knowledge"; because the original is: Our Lord, Your mercy and Your knowledge encompasses all things.
وَفِيAnd inالْآيَةِthe verseمِنْofصِفَاتِattributesاللَّهِAllahالرَّبُّوبِيَّةِof Lordshipوَعُمُومِand the generalityالرَّحْمَةِof mercy،,وَالْعِلْمِand knowledge.
And in the verse are attributes of Allah's Lordship and the generality of mercy and knowledge.
الْآيَةُThe verseالثَّالِثَةُthe third::قَوْلُهُHis saying::﴿وَكَانَ"And was"بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَwith the believersرَحِيمًاmerciful"
The third verse: His saying: "And was merciful with the believers."
(الْمُؤْمِنِينَ(the believers))::مُتَعَلِّقٌrelatedبِـto(رَحِيم)،(merciful),وَتَقْدِيمُand presentingالْمَعْمُولَthe affected wordيَدُلُّindicatesعَلَىonالْحَصْرِthe exclusivity،,فَيَكُونُtherefore it isمَعْنَىthe meaningالْآيَةِthe verseوَكَانَand wasبِالْمُؤْمِنِينَwith believersلَاnotغَيْرَهُمْother than them.
(The believers): Related to the (merciful), and the presentation of the affected word indicates exclusivity. Therefore, the meaning of the verse is: "And was merciful with the believers, not with others."
وَلَـكِنْButكَيْفَhowنَجْمَعُcan we combineبَيْنَbetweenهَذِهِtheseالْآيَةِthe verseوَالَّتِيand whichقَبْلَهَاpreceded it:﴿رَبَّنَا"Our Lordوَسِعْتَand You encompassed٢٥٠250
But how can we combine between these verses and the one that preceded it: "Our Lord, and You encompassed 250
