الْجَوُّThe atmosphereمُسْتَنِيراًis illuminated؛;بِخِلَافِUnlikeالْأَسْوَدِthe blackوَالْأَحْمَرِand red؛;فَإِنَّهُfor itتَحْصُلُresultsبِهِwith itالظُّلْمَةِthe darkness,,وَهُوَand it isأَجْمَلُmore beautifulمَنْظَرًاin appearance
The atmosphere is illuminated; unlike the black and red; for it results in darkness, and it is more beautiful in appearance.
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His saying﴿[وَالْمَلَائِكَةُand the angels::الْمَلَائِكَةُthe angelsبِالرَّفْعِin nominative caseمَعْطُوفٌattachedعَلَىtoلَفْظِthe termالْجَلَالَةِthe majestyاللَّـهَAllah؛;يَعْنِيmeans::أَوْorتَأْتِيَهُمُthey come to themالْمَلَائِكَةُthe angels،,وَسَبَقَAnd it was previouslyبَيَانُa statementاشْتِقَاقِof the derivationهَذِهِof thisالْكَلِمَةِword,,وَمَنْand whoهُمْthey areالْمَلَائِكَةُthe angels
And His saying: 'And the angels' is in the nominative case, attached to the term of the majesty of Allah; means: or the angels come to them, and it was previously stated regarding the derivation of this word, and who are the angels.
وَالْمَلَائِكَةُAnd the angelsتَأْتِيcomeيَوْمَthe Dayالْقِيَامَةِof Resurrection؛;لِأَنَّهَاbecause theyتَنْزِلُdescendفِيinالْأَرْضِthe earth؛;يَنْزِلُdescendsأَهْلُthe inhabitantsالسَّمَاءِof the heavensالدُّنْيَاthe lowest،,ثُمَّthenالثَّانِيَةَthe secondثُمَّthenالثَّالِثَةَthe thirdثُمَّthenالرَّابِعَةَthe fourth،,وَهَكَذَاand so on......إِلَىtoالسَّابِعَةِthe seventh؛;يُحِيطُونَsurroundبِالنَّاسِthe people
And the angels come on the Day of Resurrection; because they descend to the earth; the inhabitants of the lowest heaven descend, then the second, then the third, then the fourth, and so on to the seventh; they surround the people.
وَهَذَاAnd thisتَحَذِيرٌis a warningمِنْofهَذَاthisالْيَوْمِdayالَّذِيwhichيَأْتِيcomesعَلَىin aهَذَاthisالْوَجْهِmanner؛;فَهُوَit isمَشْهَدٌa spectacleعَظِيمٌgreatمِنْofمَشَاهِدَthe scenesيَوْمِthe Dayالْقِيَامَةِof Resurrection،,يُحَذِّرُHe warnsاللَّـهُAllahبِهَـذَاwith itهَـؤُلَاءِtheseالْمُكَذِّبِينَdeniers
And this is a warning of this day which comes in this manner; it is a great spectacle of the scenes of the Day of Resurrection, with which Allah warns these deniers.
الْآيَةُThe verseالثَّانِيَةُthe second::قَوْلٌThe sayingهَلْDoيَنْظُرُونَthey awaitإِلَّاexceptأَنْthatتَأْتِيَهُمُcomes to themالْمَلَائِكَةُthe angelأَوْorيَأْتِيَcomesرَبُّكَyour Lordأَوْorيَأْتِcomesبَعْضُsomeآيَاتِكَof the signsرَبِّكَof your Lord
The second verse: 'Do they await except that the angel comes to them or your Lord comes or some of the signs of your Lord?'
نَقُولُWe sayفِيinهَلْDoيَنْظُرُونَthey awaitمَاwhatقُلْنَاwe saidفِيinالْآيَةِthe verseالسَّابِقَةِprevious;؛;أَيٌّthat isمَاwhatيَنْتَظِرُawaitsهَـؤُلَـاءِtheseإِلَّاexceptوَاحِدَةًoneمِنْofهَذِهِtheseالْأَحْوَالِsituations::
We say in 'Do they await' what we said in the previous verse; that is: what do these await except one of these situations:
أَوَّلًاFirst::إِلَّاexceptأَنْthatتَأْتِيَهُمُcomes to themالْمَلَائِكَةُthe angels؛;أَيٌّthat isلِقَبْضِto takeأَرْوَاحِهِمُtheir souls؛;قَالَsaidاللَّـهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted::﴿[وَلَوْAnd ifتَرَىyou seeإِذْwhenيَتَوَفَّىtakesالَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواdisbelievedالْمَلَائِكَةُthe angelsيَضْرِبُونَthey strikeوُجُوهَهُمْtheir facesوَأَدْبَارَهُمْand their backsوَذُوقُواand tasteعَذَابَthe tormentالْحَرِيقِof the fire
First: except that the angels come to take their souls; Allah, the Exalted, said: '[And if you see when the angels take the souls of those who have disbelieved, striking their faces and their backs and tasting the torment of the fire]'
ثَانِيًاSecond
Second:
أَوْorيَأْتِيَcomesرَبُّكَyour Lordيَوْمَon the Dayالْقِيَامَةِof Resurrectionلِلْقِيَامِto judgeبَيْنَهُمْbetween them؛;ثَالِثًاThird::أَوْorيَأْتِيcomesبَعْضُsomeءَايَاتِكِof the signsرَبِّكَof your Lord
Second: or your Lord comes on the Day of Resurrection to judge between them.
ثَالِثًاThird::أَوْorيَأْتِيcomesبَعْضُsomeءَايَاتِكِof the signsرَبِّكَof your Lord
Third: or some of the signs of your Lord.
