الإحْكَامُperfectionوَandالإتْقَانُprecision
Perfection and precision.
وَفِيAnd inسِتَّةِsixأَيَّامٍdays))وَمَدَّةَAnd the periodهَذِهِof theseالأَيَّامِdaysكَأَيَّامِنَاis like our daysالَّتِيthatنَعْرِفُ؛we know;لِأَنَّbecauseاللَّهَAllahسُبْحَانَهُglory be to Himوَتَعَالَىand exaltedذَكَرَهَاmentioned itمُنْكَرَةً،indefinite,فَتَحْمَلُit is takenعَلَىuponمَاwhatكَانَwasمَعْرُوفًا.known.
And the period of these days is like our days that we know; because Allah, glory be to Him and exalted, mentioned it in the indefinite form, thus it is taken as what was known.
وَأَوَّلُAnd the firstهَذِهِof theseالأَيَّامِdaysيَوْمُdayالأَحَدِ،Sunday,وَآخِرُهَاand its lastيَوْمُdayالْجُمُعَةِ.Friday.
And the first of these days is Sunday, and its last is Friday.
مِنْهَاOf themأَرْبَعَةٌfourأَيَّامٍdaysلِلْأَرْضِ،for the earth,وَيَوْمَانِand two daysلِلْسَّمَاءِ؛for the sky;كَمَاasفَصَّلَ اللَّهُAllah detailedذَٰلِكَthatفِيinسُورَةٍthe chapterفَصَلَتْ:Fussilat:
Of them are four days for the earth, and two days for the sky; as Allah detailed that in the chapter Fussilat:
قُلْSay,أَبِنَّكُمْ"Is it that youلَتَكْفُرُونَwill denyبِالَّذِيin whatخَلَقَcreatedالْأَرْضَthe earthفِيinيَوْمَيْنِtwo daysوَتَجْعَلُونَand you makeلَهُfor Himأَندَادًاequals?"ذَٰلِكَThat isرَبُّthe Lordالْعَالَمِينَof the worlds.
Say, "Is it that you will deny what created the earth in two days and make for Him equals?" That is the Lord of the worlds.
وَجَعَلَAnd He madeفِيهَاin itرَوَاسِيَmountainsمِنْfromفَوْقِهَاabove it,وَبَرَكَand He blessedفِيهَاin it,وَقَدَّرَand He determinedفِيهَاin itأَقْوَاتَهَاits provisionsفِيinأَرْبَعَةِfourأَيَّامٍdaysسَوَاءًequalلِلسَّابِلِينَ)for the travelers)
And He made in it mountains from above it, and He blessed in it, and determined its provisions in four days equal for the travelers)
فَصَارَتْSo it becameأَرْبَعَةً.four.
So it became four.
﴿﴿ثُمَّThenاسْتَوَىHe roseإِلَىtoالسَّمَاءِthe skyوَهِيَand it isدُخَانٌ.smoke.
Then He rose to the sky, and it is smoke.
فَقَالَSo He saidلَهَاto itوَلِلْأَرْضِ،and to the earth,اَنْتِىَاCome forthطَوْعًاwillinglyأَوْorكَرْهًاforcefully.
So He said to it and to the earth, "Come forth willingly or forcefully."
قَالَتَاThey both said,أَنَّا"Weطَابِعِينَare willing."
They both said, "We are willing."
فَقَضَاهُنَّSo He finished themسَبْعَsevenسَمَوَاتٍheavens in
So He finished them seven heavens in
فِيinيَوْمَيْنِ﴾two days."
in two days."
وَقَوْلُهُ:And His saying:﴿﴿ثُمَّThenاسْتَوَىHe roseعَلَىuponالْعَرْشِthe Throne
And his saying: "Then He rose upon the Throne"
تَمَّis completeلِلْتَّرْتِيبِ.for arrangement.
is complete for arrangement.
اسْتَوَى؛He rose;بِمَعْنَى:meaning:عَلَاexalted.
He rose; meaning: exalted.
وَAndالْعَرْشِthe Throneهُوَit isذَٰلِكَthatالسَّقْفُthe ceilingالمُحِيطُthat surroundsبِالْمَخْلُوقَاتِ،the creatures,وَلَاand we do notنَعْلَمُknowمَادَّةَthe materialهَذَاof thisالْعَرْشِ؛Throne;لِأَنَّهُbecauseلَمْthere has notيُوْضَعْbe putعَنْaboutالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetﷺpeace be upon himحَدِيثٌa narrationصَحِيحٌauthenticيُبَيِّنُthat indicatesمِنْfromأَيْنَwhereخُلِقَit createdهَذَاthisالْعَرْشُ،Throne,لَكِنَّاbut weنَعْلَمُknowأَنَّهُthat it isأَكْبَرُthe largestالْمَخْلُوقَاتِof the creaturesالَّتِيthatنَعْرِفُهَا.we know.
And the Throne is that ceiling that surrounds the creatures, and we do not know the material of this Throne; because there has not been an authentic narration from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that indicates from where this Throne was created, but we know that it is the largest of the creatures that we know.
وَأَصْلُAnd the originالْعَرْشِof the Throneفِيinاللُّغَةِthe languageالسَّرِيرِthe bedالَّذِيthatيَخْتَصُّis specificبِهِto him,الْمَلِكُ،the king,وَمَعْلُومٌand it is knownأَنَّthatالسَّرِيرَthe bedالَّذِيthatيَخْتَصُّis specificبِهِto himالْمَلَكُthe kingسَيَكُونُwill beسَرِيرًاa bedعَظِيمًاgreatفَخْمًاmagnificentلَاnotنَظِيرٌpeerلَهُ.to it.
And the origin of the Throne in the language is the bed that is specific to the king, and it is known that the bed that is specific to the king will be a magnificent great bed with no peer to it.
