فَالْجَوَابُSo the answerاللَّهُGodأَعْلَمُknowsبِذَٰلِكَof that
So the answer is: God knows of that.
فَإِنْIfقُلْتَyou say::هَلْIsاسْتَوَاءُthe ascentاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىٰthe Most HighعَلَىٰuponعَرْشِهِHis Throneمِنْone ofالْصِّفَاتِthe attributesالْفِعْلِيَّةِof actionsأَوْorالذَّاتِيَّةِof essence
If you say: Is God's ascent upon His Throne one of the attributes of action or of essence?
فَالْجَوَابُSo the answer::أَنَّهُis that itمِنْis fromالْصِّفَاتِthe attributesالْفِعْلِيَّةِof action؛;لِأَنَّهُbecause itيَتَعَلَّقُrelatesبِمَشِيئَتِهِto His will،,وَكُلُّand everyصِفَةٍattributeتَتَعَلَّقُthat relatesبِمَشِيئَتِهِto His will؛;فَهِيَit isمِنْofالْصِّفَاتِthe attributesالْفِعْلِيَّةِof action
So the answer is that it is one of the attributes of action; because it relates to His will, and every attribute that relates to His will is of the attributes of action.
آيَاتٌVersesإِثْبَاتٌProvingعَلَىuponاللَّهِGodعَلَىuponمَخْلُوقَاتِهِHis creatures
Verses proving God's superiority over His creatures.
الشَّرْحُExplanation::ذُكِرَHe mentionedالْمُؤَلِّفُthe authorرَحِمَهُmay he have mercyاللَّهُGodفِيinإِثْبَاتِprovingعُلُوِّhighnessاللَّهِof GodعَلَىonخَلْقِهِHis creationسِتٌّsixالْآيَاتُverses
The author, may God have mercy on him, mentioned in proving God's highness over His creation six verses.
الْآيَةُThe verseالأُولَىٰthe first::قَوْلُهُHis saying﴿[يَا عِيسَىO JesusإِنِّيIndeed, Iمُتَوَفِّيكَwill take youوَرَافِعُكَand I will raise youإِلَىto﴾][آل[Aliعِمْرَانَ:Imran:٥٥55
The first verse: His saying: 'O Jesus, indeed, I will take you and raise you to [Me].' [Al-i Imran: 55]
الْخِطَابُThe addressلِعِيسَىto Jesusابْنِthe son ofمَرْيَمَMaryالَّذِيwhoخُلِقَwas createdاللَّهُby Godمِنْfromأُمٍّa motherبِلاَwithoutأَبٍa father,,وَلِهَذَاand for this reasonيُنْسَبُhe is attributedإِلَىtoأُمِّهِhis mother,,فَيُقَالُit is said::عِيسَىJesusابْنُthe son ofمَرْيَمَMary
The address is to Jesus, the son of Mary, who was created by God from a mother without a father; and for this reason, he is attributed to his mother, and it is said: Jesus, son of Mary.
يَقُولُHe saysاللَّهُGod::﴿[إِنِّيIndeed, Iمُتَوَفِّيكَwill take you::ذَكَرَHe mentionedالْعُلَمَاءُthe scholarsفِيهَاin itثَلاَثَةَthreeأَقْوَالٍsayings
God says: 'Indeed, I will take you.' The scholars mentioned three sayings regarding it.
الْقَوْلُThe sayingالأَوَّلُthe first::﴿[مُتَوَفِّيكَI take you؛;بِمَعْنَىmeaning::قَابِضُكَI seize you,,وَمِنْand fromهُنَاhereقَوْلُهُمْtheir saying::تَوَفَّىhe tookحَقَّهُhis right;;
The first saying: 'I will take you;' meaning: 'I seize you,' and from here their saying: 'he took his right.'
الْقَوْلُThe sayingالثَّانِيthe second::﴿[مُتَوَفِّيكَI take you﴾]مُنِيمُكَI cause you to sleep؛;لِأَنَّbecauseالنَّوْمُsleepوَفَاةٌis death;;كَمَاasقَالَhe saidتَعَالَىٰthe Most High::﴿[وَهُوَAnd He isالَّذِيthe one whoيَتَوَفَّنَكُمْtakes youبِاللَّيْلِat nightوَيَعْلَمُand knowsمَاwhatجَرَحْتُمْyou didبِالنَّهَارِduring the dayثُمَّthenيَبْعَثُكُمْHe resurrects youفِيهin itلِيُقْضَىthat be determinedأَجَلٌa termمُّسَمًّىthat is specified
The second saying: 'I take you' [Allah: 55]; 'I cause you to sleep,' because sleep is death; as He, the Most High, said: 'And He is the one who takes you at night and knows what you did during the day. Then He resurrects you in it that a term be determined.' [Al-An'am: 60]
