أَنَّthatسَفِينَةًa shipتَأْتِيcomesبِدُونَwithoutقَائِدٍa captainوَتَنْزِلُand landsوَتَنْصَرِفُand departs؟!?!
Does a ship come without a captain, land, and then depart?! This is not reasonable!
قَالَhe said::كَيْفَhowلَاdo notتَعْقِلُونَcomprehendهَذَاthisوَتَعْقِلُونَand you comprehendأَنَّthatهَذِهِtheseالسَّمَاوَاتِheavensوَالشَّمْسِand the sunوَالْقَمَرِand the moonوَالنُّجُومِand the starsوَالْجِبَالِand the mountainsوَالشَّجَرِand the treesوَالْدَّوَابِّand the animalsوَالنَّاسِand mankindكُلَّهَاall of themبِدُونِwithoutصَانِعٍa maker؟!?!
How do you not comprehend this, yet you comprehend that these heavens, the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the animals, and all mankind are without a maker?!
فَعَرَفُواso they recognizedأَنَّthatالرَّجُلَthe manخَاطَبَهُمْaddressed themبِعُقُولِهِمْwith their mindsوَعَجَزُواand they were unableعَنْaboutجَوَابِهِhis answerهَذَاthisأَوْorمَعْنَاهُits meaning
So they recognized that the man addressed them with their minds and they were unable to respond to his answer or its meaning.
وَقِيلَand it was saidلِأَعْرَابِيٍّto a Bedouinمِنَfromالْبَادِيَةِthe desert::بِمَby whatعَرَفْتَdid you recognizeرَبَّكَyour Lord?؟?
And it was said to a Bedouin from the desert: By what did you recognize your Lord?
فَقَالَHe said::الْأَثَرُthe traceيَدُلُّindicatesعَلَىonالْمَسِيرِthe travel،,وَالْبَعْرَةُand the droppingsتَدُلُّindicateعَلَىonالْبَعِيرِ؛the camel;
He said: The trace indicates the travel, and the droppings indicate the camel;
فَسَمَاءٌSo the skyذَاتُof havingأَبْرَاجٍtowers,,,وَأَرْضٌand the earthذَاتُof havingفِجَاجٍspaces,,وَبِحَارٍand seasذَاتُof havingأَمْوَاجٍwaves;أَلَاDo they notتَدُلُّindicateعَلَىonالسَّمِيعِthe All-Hearingالْبَصِيرِ؟the All-Seeing?
So the sky of having towers, and the earth of having spaces, and the seas of having waves; do they not indicate the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing?
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reasonقَالَsaidاللَّهُGodعَزَّ وَجَلَّMighty and Majestic::أَمْDo theyخُلِقُواwere createdمِنْfromغَيْرِwithoutشَيْءٍa thingأَمْorهُمْtheyالْخَالِقُونَare the creators?
And for this reason, God Mighty and Majestic said: Were they created from nothing, or are they the creators?
فَحِينَئِذٍThen at that timeيَكُونُthere will beالْعَقْلُthe mindدَالًّاan indicatorدَلَالَةًof a clear indicationقَطْعِيَّةًthat is decisiveعَلَىforوُجُودِthe existenceاللَّهِ.of God.
Then at that time the mind will be a clear indicator of the existence of God.
وَأَمَّاAs forدَلَالَةُthe indicationالْحَسَنَةُof the goodnessعَلَىonوُجُودِthe existenceاللَّهِ؛of God;فَإِنَّthenالْإِنسَانَthe human beingيَدْعُوcalls uponاللَّهَGod;عَزَّ وَجَلَّ؛Mighty and Majestic;يَقُولُhe says:يَاOرَبِّLord!وَيَدْعُوand he callsبِالشَّيْءِfor the thing،,ثُمَّthenيُسْتَجَابُis responded toلَهُto himفِيْهِin it,وَهَذِهِand thisدَلَالَةٌis an indicationحِسِّيَّةٌsensibleهُوَhe himselfلَمْdid notيَدْعُوcall uponإِلَّاexceptاللَّهَ،God,وَاسْتَجَابَand God respondedاللَّهُGodلَهُ،to him;رَأَىhe sawذَلِكَthatرَأْيًۭاwith his own eye.
As for the indication of the goodness on the existence of God; then the human being calls upon God, Mighty and Majestic; he says: O Lord! And he calls for the thing, then he is responded to in it, and this is an indication that is sensible; he himself did not call upon anyone except God, and God responded to him; he saw that with his own eyes.
وَكَذَاكَAnd likewiseنَحْنُweنَسْمَعُhearعَمَّنْabout those whomسَبَقَprecededوَعَمَّنْand those whomفِيinعَصْرِنَاour time;أَنَّthatاللَّهَGodاسْتَجَابَrespondedلَهُمْ.to them.
And likewise we hear about those who preceded and about those in our time that God has responded to them.
فَالأَعْرَابِيُّSo the Bedouinالَّذِيwhoدَخَلَenteredوَالرَّسُولُand the messenger ﷺ(peace be upon him)يَخْطُبُis delivering a sermonالنَّاسَto the peopleيَوْمَon the dayالْجُمُعَةِof Fridayقَالَhe said::هَلَكَتِThe wealth has perishedالأَمْوَالُthe funds;وَانْقَطَعَتِand the roads have severed;فَادْعُواtherefore, call uponاللَّهَGodيُغِيثَنَا.to aid us.
So the Bedouin who entered while the messenger (peace be upon him) is delivering a sermon to the people on the day of Friday said: The wealth has perished and the roads have severed; therefore, call upon God to aid us.
قَالَhe saidأَنَسٌAnas::وَاللَّهُand by Godمَاthere is noفِيinالسَّمَاءِthe skyمِنْofسُحُبٍcloudsوَلَاnorقَزَعَةٍa puff (of cloud)(أَيْ(i.e.:قِطْعَةٍa pieceسُحُبٍ)،of cloud),وَمَاand there is notبَيْنَنَاbetween usوَبَيْنَand betweenسَلْعٍSal'a (the mount),(جَبَلٍ(a mountain)فِيinالْمَدِينَةِthe cityتَأْتِيcomesمِنْfromجِهَتِهَاits directionالسُّحُبُthe cloudsمِنْfromبَيْتِthe houseوَلَاand notدَارٍthe home;......
Anas said: And by God, there is no cloud in the sky, nor a puff (of cloud); and there is not between us and Sal'a (the mount) (a mountain in the city) any clouds coming from the direction of the house or the home; ...
......وَبَعْدَAnd afterدُعَاءِthe supplicationالرَّسُولِthe messenger ﷺ(peace be upon him)فَوْرًاimmediatelyخَرَجَتْthere appeared
And after the supplication of the messenger (peace be upon him), there appeared immediately.
