meaning they did not doubt,
فَأَمَّاso as forالْمُرْتَابُthe doubterفَهُوَthen he isمِنَfromالْمُنَافِقِينَthe hypocrites
for as for the doubter, he is from the hypocrites.

قَالَwho saidقَالَsaidالنَّبِيُّthe Prophetصَلَّىmay Allah send blessingsاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peace

'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah

وَتَقَدَّمَAnd has precededحَدِيثُthe hadith ofأَبِيAbuهُرَيْرَةَHurayrah
And the hadith of Abu Hurayrah has preceded:
رَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُAllahعَنْهُwith him
may Allah be pleased with him:

with his heart being certain of it, then give him glad tidings of Paradise.'
قَالَSaidالشَّيْخُSheikhحَافِظُHafizالْحَكَمِيُّAl-Hakami
Sheikh Hafiz Al-Hakami said:
فَاشْتَرَطَSo he stipulatedفِيinدُخُولِthe entrance ofقَائِلِهَاits utterer intoالْجَنَّةِParadise
'He stipulated for the utterer's entry into Paradise

that his heart be certain of it, not doubting in it,
وَإِذَاand ifانْتَفَىis negatedالشَّرْطُthe conditionانْتَفَىis negatedالْمَشْرُوطُwhat is conditioned upon it
and if the condition is negated, what is conditioned upon it is negated.'
وَقَدْAnd it has beenرُوِيَnarratedعَنْfromابْنِIbnمَسْعُودٍMas'udرَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُAllahعَنْهُwith him
And it has been narrated from Ibn Mas'ud - may Allah be pleased with him -
قَالَwho saidالصَّبْرُPatience isنِصْفُhalf ofالْإِيمَانِfaithوَالْيَقِينُand certainty isالْإِيمَانُfaithكُلُّهُall of it
that he said: 'Patience is half of faith, and certainty is all of faith.'
فَالْيَقِينُSo certainty isشَرْطٌa conditionفِيinصِحَّةِthe validity ofالْإِيمَانِfaith
Certainty is a condition for the validity of faith,
وَهُوَand it isحَقِيقَةُthe reality ofالْعِلْمِknowledgeبِأَنْthatلَاnoneإِلَهَhas the right to be worshippedإِلَّاexceptاللَّهُAllah
and it is the reality of knowing that there is no god but Allah
وَأَنَّand thatمُحَمَّدًاMuhammadرَسُولُis the Messenger ofاللَّهِAllah
and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,
فَلَاso there isبُدَّno escapeمِنْfromانْتِفَاءِthe negation ofالشَّكِّdoubtوَارْتِفَاعِand the removal ofالرَّيْبِsuspicion
so there must be the negation of doubt and the removal of suspicion.

بِالشَّهَادَتَيْنِof the two testimoniesبَلْratherلَاthere isبُدَّno escapeمِنْfromاسْتِيقَانِthe certainty ofالْقَلْبِthe heart
of the two testimonies is not sufficient, rather there must be the certainty of the heart.'
