يُمْكِنُIt is possibleأَنْtoيَخْتَارَchooseفِيinكُلِّeveryفَصْلٍseason
It is possible to choose in every season
مِنْfromفُصُولٍseasonsوَطَقْسٍand weatherمِنَofالطُّقُوسِthe ritualsعِلَاجاًa remedyمُخْتَلِفاًdifferent
of seasons and weather from the rituals a different remedy
يُنَاسِبُthat suitsالْفَصْلَthe seasonوَالطَّقْسَ.and the weather.
that suits the season and the weather.
كَذَلِكَLikewiseلَمَّاwhenأَرَادَwilledالْحَكِيمُthe WiseالْمُطْلَقُAbsolute
Likewise, when the Absolute Wise willed
وَالطَّبِيبُand the PhysicianالْحَقِيقِيُّTrueمُعَالَجَةَto treatمَرَضِthe diseaseالنُّفُوسِof soulsوَالْقُلُوبِ،and hearts,
and the True Physician to treat the disease of souls and hearts,
وَاقْتَضَتْand demandedمَشِيئَتُهُHis will- جَلَّ- majesticمَجْدُهُ -is His glory -إِصْلَاحَto reformمِزَاجِهِمْ،their temperament,
and His will - majestic is His glory - demanded the reformation of their temperament,
وَتَقْوِيَةَand strengtheningمَلَكَاتِهِمْtheir facultiesوَإِزَالَةَand removingالْفَسَادِthe corruptionالطَّارِئِreigningعَلَيْهِمْ،over them,
and strengthening their faculties and removing the corruption reigning over them,
اخْتَلَفَdifferedنَهْجُهُHis approach- تَقَدَّسَتْ- sanctifiedأَسْمَاؤُهُ -are His names -لِاخْتِلَافِdue to the difference inعَادَاتِhabits ofالشُّعُوبِpeoples
His approach - sanctified are His names - differed due to the difference in habits of peoples
وَالْأُمَمِand nationsوَاخْتِلَافِand the difference inمَلَكَاتِهِمْtheir facultiesوَاسْتِعْدَادَاتِهِمْand preparationsوَمُرَاعَاةًand considerationلِلْمَشْهُورَاتِfor the famousوَالْمُسَلَّمَاتِand axiomatic thingsعِنْدَهُمْ.among them.
and nations and the difference in their faculties and preparations and consideration for the famous and axiomatic things among them.
وَعَلَىAnd uponكُلٍّ،all,فَإِنَّكَthen indeed youإِذَاwhenأَرَدْتَyou wantأَنْtoتَرَىseeنَمَاذِجَmodels ofالْيَهُودِthe Jews
And upon all, indeed you, when you want to see models of the Jews
فِيinهَذِهِthisالْأُمَّةِnationفَانْظُرْthen lookإِلَىatعُلَمَاءِscholars ofالسُّوءِ،evil,
in this nation, then look at the scholars of evil,
طُلاَّبِseekers ofالدُّنْيَا،the world,الْمُولَعِينَinfatuated withبِتَقْلِيدِimitatingآبَائِهِمْ،their fathers,
seekers of the world, infatuated with imitating their fathers,
الْمُعْرِضِينَturning awayعَنْfromكِتَابِthe Bookاللَّهِof Allah- تَعَالَى -- exalted be He -وَسُنَّةِand the Sunnahرَسُولِهِof His Messenger- صَلَّى- may Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ -and grant him peace -
turning away from the Book of Allah - exalted be He - and the Sunnah of His Messenger - may Allah bless him and grant him peace -
الَّذِينَthose whoيَسْتَنِدُونَrelyإِلَىuponتَعَمُّقَاتِdeep technicalities ofالْعُلَمَاءِthe scholarsوَتَشْدِيدَاتِهِمْ،and their strictures,
those who rely upon the deep technicalities of the scholars and their strictures,
وَاسْتِنْبَاطَاتِهِمُand their deductionsالَّتِيwhichلَاnoأَصْلَoriginلَهَاfor themفِيinالْكِتَابِthe Bookوَالسُّنَّةِ،and the Sunnah,
and their deductions which have no origin in the Book and the Sunnah,
تَارِكِينَleavingكَلَامَthe speech ofالشَّارِعِthe Lawgiverالْمَعْصُومِthe Infallible- صَلَّى- may Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ -and grant him peace -
leaving the speech of the Infallible Lawgiver - may Allah bless him and grant him peace -
يَتَتَبَّعُونَthey track downالْأَحَادِيثَthe ahadithالْمَوْضُوعَةَ.fabricated.
they track down fabricated ahadith.
وَيَجْرُونَAnd they runوَرَاءَbehindالتَّأْوِيلَاتِinterpretationsالْفَاسِدَةِ.corrupt.
And they run behind corrupt interpretations.
الْجَدَلُThe dialogueالْقُرْآنِيُّQuranicمَعَwithالنَّصَارَىthe Christians
The Quranic Dialogue with the Christians
ضَلَالُThe straying ofالنَّصَارَىthe Christiansفِيinبَحْثِdiscussingحَقِيقَةِthe reality ofالْمَسِيحِthe Messiah- عَلَيْهِ- upon himالسَّلَامُ:be peace:
The straying of the Christians in discussing the reality of the Messiah - upon him be peace:
لَقَدْIndeedكَانَwereالنَّصَارَىthe Christiansيُؤْمِنُونَbelievingبِسَيِّدِنَاin our masterعِيسَىJesus- عَلَيْهِ- upon himالسَّلَامُ -be peace -
Indeed, the Christians were believing in our master Jesus - upon him be peace -
وَلَكِنْbutكَانَwasضَلَالُهُمْtheir strayingفِيinتَقْسِيمِهِمُtheir dividingالرَّبَّthe Lord- تَبَارَكَ- blessedوَتَعَالَى -and exalted be He -إِلَىinto
but their straying was in their dividing the Lord - blessed and exalted be He - into
