لَاNoيُحِبُّ،Loves,وَلَاnorيُعْطِيgivesالإِيمَانَfaithإِلَّاexceptمِنْfor whomيُحِبُّloves.
No one loves nor gives faith except for those who love.
وَقَالَAnd saidبَعْضُsomeالسَّلَفِof the predecessors:رُبَّPerhapsمُسْتَدْرَجٌone who is luredبِنِعْمِby the blessingsاللَّهِof Godعَلَيْهِ،upon him,وَهُوَand heلَاdoes notيَعْلَمُknow.
And some of the predecessors said: Perhaps one who is lured by the blessings of God upon him, and he does not know.
وَرAndمَغْرُورٌdeceivedبِسِتْرِby the concealmentاللَّهِof Godعَلَيْهِ،upon him,وَهُوَand heلَاdoes notيَعْلَمُknow.
And one who is deceived by the concealment of God upon him, and he does not know.
وَرAndرَبُّPerhapsمُفْتُونٌone who is temptedبِثَنَاءِby the praiseالنَّاسِof peopleعَلَيْهِupon himوَهُوَand heلَاdoes notيَعْلَمُknow.
And perhaps one who is tempted by the praise of people upon him, and he does not know.
فَصْلٌSectionوَأَعْظَمُAnd the greatestالْخَلْقِof creationغُرُورًاdeceptionمِنْis fromاِغْتِرَارٍbeing deceivedبِالدُّنْيَاby the worldوَعَاجِلِهَا،and its immediate (benefits),فَآثَرَهَاand prefers itعَلَىoverالْآخِرَةِ،the Hereafter,وَرَضِيَand is pleasedبِهَاwith itمِنْoverالْآخِرَةِ.the Hereafter.
Section And the greatest of creation's deception is from being deceived by the world and its immediate benefits, and preferring it over the Hereafter, and being pleased with it over the Hereafter.
حَتَّىUntilيَقُولُsome say:بَعْضُSomeهَؤُلَاءِof these:الدُّنْيَاThe worldنَقْدٌ،is cash,وَالْآخِرَةُand the Hereafterنَسِيئَةٌ،is credit,وَالنَّقْدَand cashأَنْفَعُis more beneficialمِنْthanالنَّسِيئَة!credit!
Until some say: The world is cash, and the Hereafter is credit, and cash is more beneficial than credit!
وَيَقُولُAnd they sayبَعْضُهُمْ :some of them:ذَرَّةٌA grainمَنْقُودَةٌ،of cash,وَلَاand notدُرَّةٌa pearlمَوْعُودَةٌ!of credit!
And they say some of them: A grain of cash is worth more than a pearl of credit!
وَيَقُولُAnd one of them says:آخَرُAnotherمِنْهُمْfrom themلَذَّاتُthe joys ofالدُّنْيَاthe worldمُتَيَقِّنَةٌare certainوَلَذَّاتُand the joysالْآخِرَةِof the Hereafterمُشْكُوكَةٌare doubtful.
And one of them says: The joys of the world are certain and the joys of the Hereafter are doubtful.
نَحْفَظُWe preserveكَلَامَهُwording
We preserve his wording.
عَنْaboutالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetإِلَّاexceptمِنْfromهَذَاthisالْوَجْه.way.
about the Prophet except from this way.
بِهَذَاWith thisالإِسْنَادِchain..
With this chain.
قُلْتُ :I said:الصَّبَاحُAl-SabahبِنbenمُحَمَّدٍMuhammadضَعِيفٌweakالْحَدِيثُthe narration.
I said: Al-Sabah bin Muhammad's narration is weak.
وَرَوَاهُAnd narrated itالثَّوْرِيُّAl-Thawriوَمُحَمَّدٌand MuhammadبِنbinطَلْحَةَTalhaعَنْaboutزُبَيْدٍZubaidعَنْaboutمُرَّةَMurrahعَنْaboutابْنِibnمَسْعُودٍ،Mas'ud,فَذَكَرَهُand he mentioned itمَوْقُوفًا.as a narration.
And Al-Thawri and Muhammad bin Talha narrated it from Zubaid from Murrah from Ibn Mas'ud, and he mentioned it as a narration.
أَخْرَجَهُHe presented itابْنُIbnالْمُبَارَكِal-Mubarakفِيinالزُّهْدِasceticism(۱۱۳۴)وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّand Al-Tabaraniفِيinالْكَبِيرِthe great(۸۹۹۰)وَغَيْرِهِمَا.and others.
He presented it in asceticism (1134) and Al-Tabarani in the great (8990) and others.
وَرَجَّحَAnd it is favoredالْمَوْقُوفَthe narrationالْعُقَيْلِيُّof Al-Aqiliوَالْدَّارَقُطْنِيُّand Al-Daraqutniوَالذَّهَبِيُّ.and Al-Dhahabi.
And the narration is favored by Al-Aqili, Al-Daraqutni, and Al-Dhahabi.
انْظُرْ:Look:الضُّعَفَاءُat the weak(۲/(2/۲۱۳)213)وَعِلَلِand the reasonsالدَّارَقُطْنِيِّof Al-Daraqutni(٢٦٩/٥(269/5--٢٧١)271)وَالْمِيزَانُand the scale.(٤٢٠/٣)(420/3).
Look at the weak (2/213) and the reasons of Al-Daraqutni (269/5 - 271) and the scale (420/3).
ف:For:بِنِعْمَةِBy the blessingاللَّهِ».of God.
For: By the blessing of God.
وَرَبُّAnd Perhapsمَغْرُورٌdeceived...إِلَىtoهُنَاhereسَاقِطٌis missingمِنfromل .
And perhaps deceived... to here is missing from L.
عَلَيْهِupon him.
upon him.
وَقَدْAndضَمَّنَthe author includedالمُؤَلِّفُthe authorهَذَاthisالأَثَرَnarrationكَلَامًاwordsلَهُfor himفِيinمَدَارِجِthe ranksالسَّالِكِينَof the travelers.
And the author included this narration in the words for him in the ranks of the travelers.
(۱۷۲/۱)(172/1)(ص).(p).أَخْرَجَهُHe narrated it.أَحْمَدُAhmadفِيinالزُّهْدِasceticism(١٦٠٦)(1606)عَنْfromالْحَسَنِAl-HasanالْبَصْرِيِّAl-Basriبِمَعْنَاهُ .in its meaning.
He narrated it from Ahmad in asceticism (1606) from Al-Hasan Al-Basri in its meaning.
وَسَنْدُهُAnd its chainصَحِيحٌis correct.(ز).(Z).
And its chain is correct.
ف:For:«وَآثَرَهَا»."and preferred it."
For: "and preferred it."
وَرَضِيَAnd is pleasedبِهَاwith itمِنْoverالْآخِرَةِthe Hereafter.سَاقِطٌis missingمِنْfromس،كَمَاasسَقَطَit fellمِنْfromالْآخِرَةِ»the Hereafter."مِنْfromل .
And is pleased with it over the Hereafter is missing from S, as it fell from the Hereafter from L.
