وَقَالَAnd he saidلَابْنِهِto his sonوَهُوَwhile heفِيinالْمَوْتِdeath::وَيْحَكَWoe to youاَضَعْputخَدِّىmy cheekعَلَىonالأَرْضِthe groundعَسَىperhaps itأَنْthatيَرْحَمَنِيHe have mercy on me..
And he said to his son while he was in death: Woe to you! Put my cheek on the ground, perhaps He will have mercy on me.
ثُمَّThenقَالَhe said::وَيْلٌWoeأُمِّيto my mother::إِنIfلَمْnotيَغْفِرْforgiveلِيme..
Then he said: Woe to my mother! If He does not forgive me.
ثَلاثًاthree times,,ثُمَّThenقَضَىhe passed away..
Three times, then he passed away.
وَكَانَAnd he wasيَمُرُّpassingبِالْآيَةِby the verseفِيinوَرَدِّهِhis recitationبِاللَّيْلِat night,,فَتَخْنُقُهُso it chokes him,,فَيَبْقَىso he staysفِيinالْبَيْتِthe house..
And he was passing by the verse in his recitation at night, so it choked him, and he stayed in the house.
أَيَاOhمَاwhateverيُعَادُis repeated,,يَحْسِبُونَهُthey think himمَرِيضًاill..
Oh, whatever is repeated, they think him ill.
وَكَانَAnd he wasفِيinوَجْهِهِhis faceرَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُmay Allah be pleased with himخَطَّانِtwo linesأَسْوَدَانِblackمِنَfromالْبُكَاءِcrying..
And he had two black lines from crying on his face, may Allah be pleased with him.
وَقَالَAnd he saidلَهُto himابْنُthe sonعَبَّاسٍAbbas::مَصْرَYou made strong the citiesاللَّـهَAllahبِكَby youالْأَمْصَارَthe cities,,وَفَتَحْتَand openedبِكَby youالْفُتُوحَthe victories,,وَفَعَلْتَand didوَفَعَلْتَand did,,فَقَالَhe said::وَدِدْتُI wishedأَنْthatأَنْْجُوَI be saved,,لَاnotأَجْرٌrewardوَلَاnorوِزْرٌsin..
And he said to him, Ibn Abbas: You made the cities strong with Allah, opened the victories with you, did this and that. He said: I wished to be saved, having no reward nor sin.
وَهَذَاAnd thisعُثْمَانُUthmanبْنِIbnعَفَّانَAffan--رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُmay Allah be pleased with himـ-كَانَwasإِذَاifوَقَفَhe stoodعَلَىoverالْقَبْرِthe graveيَبْكِيhe criesالإِسْلَامِIslamمِرَارًاrepeatedly,,انظُرْlookمَثَلًاfor example::مِنْهَاجِthe pathالسُّنَّةِof the Sunnah(٣٥٦/٥)(356/5),,مَجْمُوعِcollectionالْفَتَاوىthe fatwas(١٢/١١(12/11--١٣)13)
And this is Uthman ibn Affan - may Allah be pleased with him - was if he stood over the grave, he cried for Islam repeatedly. Look, for example, the path of the Sunnah (356/5), collection of fatwas (12/11 - 13).

(2) For: "If He does not have mercy on me." (3) Narrated by Abu Dawood in asceticism (46) and Ibn Shaba in the history of the city (918/3).
ف:So:«فَتَخْنُقُهُ"It chokes himالْعَبْرَةُthe sobbing.».".
So: "It chokes him the sobbing."
(٥)(5) س:In:«أَيَّامٍ"daysفِيinالْبَيْتِthe house. .. (١)(1) أَخْرَجَهُNarratedأَحْمَدَAhmadفِيinالزُّهْدِasceticism(٦٢٧)(627).وَأَبُوand AbuنَعِيمٍNaeemفِيinالْحَلِيَةِthe adornment(٥١/١(51/1) ..
(5) In: "Days in the house." (1) Narrated by Ahmad in asceticism (627) and Abu Naeem in the adornment (51/1).

(8) He narrated Ahmad in asceticism (697) and Abu Naeem in the adornment (52/1) and Ibn Shaba in the history of the city (3/915). His chain of narration is authentic.
