وَAndاللَّهُGodالرَّحْمَـٰنُthe Most Merciful

And God is the Most Merciful.

وَلَاThere is noحَوْلَpowerوَلَاand noقُوَّةٌstrengthإِلَّاexceptبِاللَّهِby Godالْعَلِيُّthe Exaltedالْعَظِيمُthe Great

There is no power and no strength except by God, the Exalted, the Great.

مَاWhatتَقُولُونَdo you sayالسَّادَةُthe gentlemenالْعُلَمَاءُthe scholarsأَئِمَّةُleadersالدِّينِof the religion(۲)-رَضِيَMay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwith Godعَنْهُمْthemأَجْمَعِينَall.(۳)

What do you say, O gentlemen scholars, leaders of the religion (May Allah be pleased with them all)?

فِيAboutرَجُلٍa manابْتُلِيَwho was afflictedبِبَلِيَّةٍ،with a calamity,وَعَلِمَand he knewأَنَّهَاthat it (the calamity)إِنْifاسْتَمَرَّتْit persistsبِهِupon himأَفْسَدَتْit will ruinعَلَيْهِ(٤)for himدُنْيَاهُhis worldly lifeوَآخِرَتَهُ،and his hereafter,وَقَدْand he hasاجْتَهَدَstrivedفِيinدَفْعِهَاpushing it awayعَنْfromنَفْسِهِhimselfبِكُلِّby everyطَرِيقٍ،way,فَمَاbut whatتَزْدَادُit increases(ه)إِلَّاonlyتَوَقُّدًاin intensityوَشِدَّةٍ؛and severity;فَمَاso what is the remedyالْحِيلَةُfor pushing it away?فِيinدَفْعِهَا؟pushing it away? What

About a man who was afflicted with a calamity, and he knew that if it persists upon him, it will ruin his worldly life and his hereafter, and he has strived in pushing it away from himself by every way, but it only increases in intensity and severity; so what is the remedy for pushing it away? And what is the way to reveal it?

(V)،وَاللَّهُAnd Allahفِيis inعَوْنِthe helpالْعَبْدِof the servantمَاas long asكَانَhe wasالْعَبْدُthe servant(٦)

And Allah is in the help of the servant as long as he serves.

فَرَحْمَةُSo may have mercyاللَّهُGodعَلَىon whomأَعَانَhelpsمُبْتَلًىthe afflicted(٦)،فِيinعَوْنِhelpأَخِيهِ»his brother.'(😃)،أَفْتُونَاGive us a fatwaمَأْجُورِينَmay you be rewarded.(٩)

So may God have mercy on those who help the afflicted, ‘in helping his brother.’ Give us a fatwa, may you be rewarded.

فَأَجَابَSo he answeredالشَّيْخُthe Sheikhالإِمَامُthe Imamالْعَالِمُthe Scholarشَيْخُthe Elderالإِسْلَامِof Islamمُفْتِيthe Muftiالْفِرَقِof the sectsشَمْسُShams ad-Din.(١)س:Q: «رَبِّO Lordيَسِّرْmake easyوَأَعِنَّاand help us.بِرَحْمَتِكَBy Your mercy.ز:Z: حَسْبِيSufficient for meاللَّهُis Godوَنِعْمَand He is the bestالْوَكِيلُTrustee.اللَّهُمَّO Allahوَفِّقْgrant success.

So he answered: 'O Lord, make things easy and help us by Your mercy.' Z: 'Sufficient for me is God and He is the best Trustee, O Allah, grant success.'

ل:A: «رَبِّO Lordيَسِّرْmake easyوَأَعِنَّاand help us.

A: 'O Lord, make things easy and help us.'

(۲)هَكَذَاThusبَدَأَتِbeganالنَّسْخَتَانِthe two copiesفَandخَبُ.Khab. وَفِيAnd inغَيْرِهِمَاothers,ذُكِرَmentionedاسْمُthe nameالْمُؤَلِّفِof the authorوَأَلْقَابُهُand his titlesفِيinأَوَّلِthe beginningالْكَلَامِ،of the speech,فَبَدَأَتْand it beganزZ, similarly,مَثَلاًfor example,عَلَىas follows:سُئِلَThey askedالشَّيْخُthe Sheikhالإِمَامُthe Imamالْعَالِمُ. . . :the Scholar... مَاWhatتَقُولُونَdo you sayالسَّادَةُthe gentlemenالعُلَمَاءُ ..the scholars...'.مَأْجُورِينَ.may you be rewarded.فَكَتَبَSo he wroteالشَّيْخُthe Sheikhرَضِيَmay God be pleasedاللَّهُwith Godعَنْهُ:about him:الْجَوَابُ :The answer is:الْحَمْدُPraise beاللَّهُ ،to God,ثَبَتَit is established.....

Thus, the two copies began: and in others, the name of the author and his titles were mentioned at the beginning of the speech, for example: 'They asked the Sheikh, the Imam, the Scholar... What do you say, O gentlemen, scholars...? May you be rewarded.' So the Sheikh wrote: 'May God be pleased with him: the answer is: Praise be to God, it is established...'

(٣)أَجْمَعِينَall.سَاقِطٌis omittedمِنْfromز.Z.

All is omitted from Z.

(٤)«عَلَيْهِ'upon himمِنْfromس ،S,ل ،L,خَا.Kha.

'Upon him' from S, L, Kha.

(٥)كَيْفَThusفِيinلL.خَا.Kha.وَلَمْand notيَنْقُطُit was pointedحَرْفٌthe letterالْمُضَارِعِof the verb 'to increase' in S.فِيInغَيْرِهَا:others:يَزْدَادُ».'it increases.'

Thus in L, Kha. and it was not pointed, the letter of the verb 'to increase' in S. In other versions: 'it increases.'

(٧)«الْعَبْدُ»The servant.سَاقِطٌis omittedمِنْfromف.F.

‘The servant' is omitted from F.

(٨)مِنْFromحَدِيثِthe Hadithأَبِيof AbuهُرَيْرَةَHurairaرَضِيَMay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwith Godعَنْهُ .about him.أُخْرِجَهُIt was narratedمُسْلِمٌby Muslimفِيinكِتَابِthe Bookالذِّكْرِof Remembranceوَالدُّعَاءِand Supplication(٢٦٩٩)(2699)

From the Hadith of Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him). It was narrated by Muslim in the Book of Remembrance and Supplication (2699).

(٩)كَيْفَThusفِيinفَز.Fz.وَزَادَand addedفِيinس،S,خَبKhabرَحِمَكُمmay He have mercy on you.اللَّهُ.God.وَفِيAnd inل:L:رَحِمَكُمmay He have mercy on youاللَّهُand Godوَرَضِيَand be pleasedعَنكُمْwith you.وَزَادَAnd addedفِيinخَبِّ:Khab:وَخَتَمَand concludedلَكُمْfor youبِخَيْرٍ».with goodness.'

Thus in Fz. and it is added in S, Khab, 'May He have mercy on you.' And in L: 'May He have mercy on you and God be pleased with you.' And it is added in Khab: 'And concluded for you with goodness.'
