وَفِيAnd inلَفْظthe wordingلَقَدIndeedسَأَلْتُI askedاللَّهGodبِاسْمِهِby His nameالْأَعْظَمthe Greatest(۱)
And in the wording: 'Indeed, I asked God by His Greatest name (1).'
وَفِيAnd inالسُّننthe Sunnahوَصَحِيحand the correctابْنof IbnحَنْبَلHanbalأَيْضًاalsoمِنfromحَدِيثthe narrationأَنَسAnasبِنbinمَالِكMalikأَنَّهُthat heكَانَwasمَعَwithرَسُولِ اللَّهthe Messenger of Godهُوَhe wasجَالِسًاsittingوَرَجُلٌand a manيُصَلِّيprayingثُمَّthenدَعَاhe prayedفَقَالَhe said (2):
And in the Sunnah and the authentic of Ibn Hanbal also from the narration of Anas bin Malik that he was with the Messenger of God sitting, and a man was praying, then he prayed and said (2):
اللَّهُمَّO AllahإِنِّيIndeed, Iأَسْأَلُكَask Youبِأَنَّthat byلَكَYouالْحَمْدthe praiseلَاthere is noإِلَٰهdeityإِلَّاexceptأَنتَYouالْمَنَّانthe Bestowerبَدِيعthe Originatorالسَّماواتof the heavensوَالأَرْضand the earthيَاOذَاPossessor ofالْجَلاَلGloryوَالْإِكْرَامand HonorيَاOحَيٌّLivingيَاOقَيُّومSustainer.
O Allah, indeed, I ask You that by You is the praise; there is no deity except You, the Bestower, the Originator of the heavens and the earth. O Possessor of Glory and Honor, O Living, O Sustainer.
فَقَالَHe saidالنَّبِيthe ProphetلَقَدIndeedدَعَاhe prayedاللَّهGodبِاسْمِهِwith His nameالْعَظِيمthe mightyالَّذِيwhichإِذَاifدُعِيَcalled uponبِهِwith itأَجَابَHe answersوَإِذَاand ifسُئِلَaskedبِهِby itأَعْطَىhe gives (3).
The Prophet said: 'Indeed, he prayed to God with His magnificent name which, if called upon, He answers; and if asked by it, He gives (3).'
وَأَخْرَجَAnd narratedالْحَدِيثَيْنthe two narrationsالإِمَامthe ImamأَحْمَدAhmadفِيinمُسْنَدِهِhis Musnad (4)
And the two narrations were narrated by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad (4).
وَفِيAnd inجَامِعthe جامعالتُّرمِذِيof Al-Tirmidhi (5)مِنfromحَدِيثthe narrationأَسْمَاءAsmaبِنْتthe daughter ofيَزِيدYazidأَنthatالنَّبِيthe Prophetﷺ(peace be upon him)
And in the جامع (of Al-Tirmidhi (5)), from the narration of Asma, the daughter of Yazid, that the Prophet ﷺ.
(۱)سُنَنSunnahأَبِيof AbuدَاوُدDawood(١٤٩٤)وَفِيAnd inز:the Z:لَقَدIndeedسَأَلَasked.
(1) Sunnah of Abu Dawood (1494). And in Z: 'Indeed, he asked.'
(۲)فَقَالَHe saidلَمnotيُرَدْmentionedفِيinف.F.
(2) He said: 'It was not mentioned in F.'
(۳)أَخْرَجَهُIt was narratedأَبُوby AbuدَاوُدDawood(١٤٩٥)وَالنَّسَائيand Al-Nasa'i(۱۳۰۰)وَابْنand IbnمَاجَهMajah(٣٨٥٨)وَالتُّرمِذِيand Al-Tirmidhi(٣٥٤٤)وَابْنand IbnحَنْبَلHanan(۸۹۳)وَأَحْمَدand Ahmad(١٢٠/٣،١٥٨،٢٦٥١٢٢٠٥،١٢٦١١،۱۳۷۹۸)وَغَيْرُهُمْand othersمِنfromطُرُقmany waysكَثِيرَةabout AnasعَنْأَنَسAnasفَذَكَرَهُand mentioned itوَفِيهِand in itقِصَّةthe story.
(3) It was narrated by Abu Dawood (1495), Al-Nasa'i (1300), Ibn Majah (3858), Al-Tirmidhi (3544), Ibn Hanbal (893), Ahmad (120/3, 158, 265, 12205, 12611, 13798) and others from many ways about Anas. He mentioned it and in it is the story.
وَأَقْوَىAnd the strongestالطُّرُقwaysعَنْfromأَنَسAnasطَرِيقُthe wayإِبْرَاهِيمIbrahimبِنbinعُبَيْدUbaidبِنbinرَفَاعَةRafa'aوَطَرِيقُand the wayأَنَسAnasبِنbinسِيرِينَSirrinوَطَرِيقُand the wayحَفْصHafsبِنbinعُمَرUmar.
And the strongest ways from Anas: the way of Ibrahim bin Ubaid bin Rafa'a and the way of Anas bin Sirrin, and the way of Hafs bin Umar.
وَالْحَدِيثAnd the narrationصَحَّحَهُwas authenticatedابْنby IbnحَنْبَلHanbalوَالْحَاكِمand Al-Hakimوَالضِّيَاءand Al-DiyaالْمَقْدِسِيAl-Maqdisi.انظُرْSee:الْأَحَادِيثthe narrationsالْمُخْتَارَةthe selected (1514, 1552, 1885).
And the narration was authenticated by Ibn Hanbal, Al-Hakim, and Al-Diya Al-Maqdisi. See: the selected narrations (1514, 1552, 1885).

(5) By number (3476). It was narrated by Abu Dawood (1496) and Ibn Majah (3855) and Ahmad (461/6) and Al-Tabarani in the invocation (113) and Al-Baghawi in the explanation of the Sunnah (38/5 - 39) and others, from the way of Ubaidullah bin Abu Ziyad who narrated Shahr bin Hushab from Asma, and he mentioned it.
وَالْحَدِيثAnd the narrationصَحَّحَهُwas authenticatedالتُّرمِذِيby Al-Tirmidhiوَتَكَلَّمَand spokeفِيهِin itالْبَغَوِيAl-Baghawiفَقَالَand said: 'This narration is strange.'
And the narration was authenticated by Al-Tirmidhi and Al-Baghawi spoke about it and he said: 'This narration is strange.'
قُلْتُI said:عُبَيْدِلَّهUbaidullahوَشَهْرand Shahrفِيinحِفْظِهِمَاtheir memorizationضَعُفَis weak.
I said: 'Ubaidullah and Shahr in their memorization is weak.'
