وَAndالْحَدِيثُthe hadithوَandعِلْمٌknowledgeهُوَit isدَوَاءٌa remedyالدِّينِof religionوَandهُوَit isعِلْمٌknowledgeالْفَتْوَىٰof fatwaإِذَاwhenنَزَلَit descendsبِالْعَبْدِupon the servantنَازِلَةٌa calamityاحْتَاجَhe needsإِلَىtoمَنْsomeoneيُشْفِيهِto heal himمِنْهَاfrom itكَمَاasقَالَsaidابْنُIbnمَسْعُودٍMas'ud.
And the hadith and knowledge is a remedy for religion, and it is knowledge of fatwa. When a calamity descends upon the servant, he needs someone to heal him from it, as Ibn Mas'ud said.
وَAndعِلْمٌknowledgeهُوَit isدَاءٌa diseaseالدِّينِof religion.وَAndهُوَit isالْكَلَامُthe speechالْمُحَدَثُthat is newly created.وَAndعِلْمٌknowledgeهُوَit isهِلَالٌthe moonالدِّينِof religion.وَAndهُوَit isعِلْمٌknowledgeالسِّحْرَof magicوَandنَحْوُهُthe like of it.
And knowledge is a disease of religion, and it is the speech that is newly created. And knowledge is the moon of religion, and it is the knowledge of magic and the like of it.
فَحَفَظَSo preservingالصِّحَةَthe healthبِالْمَثَلِby an example.وَإِزَالَةَAnd removingالْمَرَضَthe diseaseبِالضِّدِّby its oppositeفِيinمَرَضِthe diseaseالْجِسْمِof the physical bodyالطَّبِيعِيِّnatural.وَAndمَرَضِdiseaseالْقَلْبِof the heartالنَّفْسَانِيِّpsychologicalالدِّينِيِّreligious.الشَّرْعِيِّlegitimate.
So preserving health by an example and removing the disease by its opposite in the disease of the physical body and the disease of the psychological religious heart.
قَالَHe said(صلى(peaceاللَّهُof Allahعَلَيْهِupon himوَandسَلَّمَ)peace)كُلَّEveryمَوْلُودٍnewbornيُولَدُis bornعَلَىon theالْفِطْرَةِnatural state.فَأَبَوَاهُSo his parentsيُهَوِّدَانِهِraise him as a Jew.أَوْOrيُنَصِّرَانِهِthey raise him as a Christian.أَوْOrيُمَجِّسَانِهِthey raise him as a Magian.كَمَاAsتَنْتِجُthe animals produceالْبَهِيمَةُthe beast.بَهِيمَةٌthe beast.جَمْعَاءَmixed.هَلْDoتُحِسُّونَyou feelفِيهَاin itمِنَofجَدْعَاءَthe tail-less.ثُمَّThenيَقُولُhe saysأَبُوAbuهُرَيْرَةَHurayrah.اقْرَؤُواReadإِنْifشِئْتُمْyou wishالرُّومَthe Romans.
He said (peace of Allah be upon him), "Every newborn is born on the natural state. So his parents raise him as a Jew, or they raise him as a Christian, or they raise him as a Magian, as the animals produce a mixed beast. Do you feel in it any tail-less?" Then Abu Hurayrah says, "Read if you wish: 'The natural state of Allah, which He created the people upon.'"
أَخْرَجَاهُIt was narratedفِيinالصَّحِيحَيْنِthe two authentic books.قَالَHe saidتَعَالَىthe Most Highالرُّومَthe Romans.وَلَهُAnd to Himمِنْin theفِيheavensالسَّمَاوَاتِand theوَالْأَرْضِearth.كُلٌّEveryلَهُHisقَانِتُونَobedient.وَهُوَAnd He isالَّذِيthe one whoيُبْدِئُinitiatesالْخَلْقَcreationثُمَّthenيُعِيدُهُrecreates it.وَهُوَAnd He isأَهْوَنُeasierعَلَيْهِfor Him.وَلَهُAnd to Himالْمَثَلُthe exampleالْأَعْلَىthe highestفِيinالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensوَالْأَرْضِand the earth.إِلَىToقَوْلِهِHis sayingبَلْRatherاتَّبِعْfollowالَّذِينَthose whoظَلَمُواwronged themselvesأَهْوَاءَهُمْtheir desiresبِغَيْرِwithoutعِلْمٍknowledge.
It was narrated in the two authentic books. He said the Most High: 'The Romans. And to Him are those in the heavens and the earth, all are obedient to Him. And He is the one who initiates creation, then recreates it; and it is easier for Him. And to Him belongs the highest example in the heavens and the earth.' To His saying: 'Rather, follow those who wronged themselves with their desires without knowledge.'
إِلَىToقَوْلِهِHis sayingفَأَقِمْSo establishوَجْهَكَyour faceلِلِّدِّينِto the religionحَنِيفًاinclined.فِطْرَةَThe natural state.اللَّهِof Allah.الَّتِيthat whichفَطَرَHe createdالنَّاسَthe peopleعَلَيْهَاupon it.لَاDo notتَبْدِيلَalterلِخَلْقِthe creationاللَّهِof Allah.ذَلِكَThat isالدِّينُthe religionالْقَيِّمُupright.وَلَكِنَButأَكْثَرَmostالنَّاسِof the peopleلَاdo notيَعْلَمُونَknow.
To His saying: 'So establish your face to the religion, inclining to the natural state of Allah, which He created the people upon. Do not alter the creation of Allah. That is the upright religion; but most people do not know.'
فَأَخْبَرَSo Allah informedاللَّهُthat Heأَنَّهُcreatedفَطَرَthe natural state.عِبَادَهُof His servantsعَلَىto be uponإِقَامَةِestablishingالْوَجْهِthe faceحَنِيفًاinclining.وَهُوَAnd it isعِبَادَةٌworshipاللَّهِof Allahوَحْدَهُalone.لَاNoشَرِيكَpartnerلَهُfor Him.فَهَذِهِSo this isمِنَofالْحَرَكَةِthe movementالْفِطْرِيَةِnatural.الطَّبِيعِيَّةِregular.الْمُسْتَقِيمَةِupright.لِلْقَلْبِfor the heart.وَتَرْكُهَاAnd abandoning it isظُلْمٌoppression.عَظِيمٌgreat.
So Allah informed that He created His servants to be upon establishing their face inclining. And it is the worship of Allah alone, with no partner for Him. So this is of the natural upright movement for the heart, and abandoning it is great oppression.
اتَّبِعْFollowأَهْلَهُمْhis peopleأَهْوَاءَهُمْtheir desiresبِغَيْرِwithoutعِلْمٍknowledge.وَلَاAnd do notتُجِبْobligedلِهَذِهِfor thisالْفِطْرَةِnatural state.وَالخَلْقَةِand creation.وَهِيَAnd it isصِحَةٌhealthالْخَلْقَةِof creation.مِنْfromقُوَّةٍstrengthوَغِذَاءِand nutrition.يُمِدُّهَاthat supports it.بِنَظِيرِby the equivalentمَاwhatفِيهَاis in itمِمَّاof whatفَطَرَHe created.عَلَيْهِupon it.عِلْمٌknowledgeوَandعَمَلٌaction.
Follow his people without knowledge. And do not oblige for this natural state and creation. And it is health of creation from strength and nutrition that supports it, by the equivalent of what is in it of what He created it upon, in knowledge and action.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reason,كَانَthere wasتَمَامُcompletionالدِّينِof the religionبِالْفِطْرَةِby the natural state.الْمُكَمِّلَةِthat completesبِالشَّرِيعَةِby the legislation.الْمُنَزَّلَةِrevealed.وَهِيَAnd it isمَأْدَبَةُthe banquet.اللَّهِof Allah.كَمَاAsقَالَHe saidالنَّبِيُّthe Prophet(صلى(peaceاللَّهُof Allahعَلَيْهِupon himوَandسَلَّمَ)peace)
And for this reason, the completion of the religion is by the natural state which is completed by the revealed legislation. And it is the banquet of Allah, as the Prophet (peace of Allah be upon him) said.
فِيInحَدِيثِthe hadithابْنِof IbnمَسْعُودٍMas'ud.إِنَّIndeed,كُلُّeveryآدَمِيٍّNobleيُحِبُّlovesأَنْtoتُؤْتَىbe givenمَأْدَبَتَهُhis banquet.وَإِنَّAnd indeedمَأْدَبَةَthe banquetاللَّهِof Allahهِيَisالْقُرْآنَthe Qur'an.وَمَثْلُهَاAnd the like of itكَمَاasأَنزَلَهُit was revealed to.اللَّهَAllahمِنَfromالسَّمَاءِthe heavens.كَمَاAsجَرَىhas runتَمْثِيلُهُthe representationبِذَلِكَwith thatفِيinالْكِتَابِthe bookوَandالسُّنَّةِthe Sunnah.
In the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud, indeed, every noble loves to be given his banquet, and indeed the banquet of Allah is the Qur'an and the like of it as it was revealed from the heavens, as its representation has run in the book and the Sunnah.
وَالْمُحَرِّفُونَAnd the distortersلِلْفِطْرَةِof the natural state.الْمُغَيِّرُونَthe ones who changeلِلْقَلْبِthe heartعَنْfromاستِقَامَتِهِits uprightness.هُمْThey areمُمْرِضُونَsickeningلِلْقُلُوبِfor the hearts.مُسْقِمُونَand making ill for them.
And the distorters of the natural state, the ones who change the heart from its uprightness, they are sickening for the hearts and making them ill.
وَقَدْAnd He hasأَنزَلَdescendedاللَّهُAllahكِتَابَهُHis Bookشِفَاءًa cureلِمَاfor whatفِيis inالصُّدُورِthe chests.وَمَاAnd whateverيُصِيبُstrikesالْمُؤْمِنَthe believerفِيinالدُّنْيَاthe worldمِنَofالمَصَائِبِcalamitiesبِمَنْزِلَةِis likeمَاwhatيُصِيبُstrikesالْجِسْمَthe bodyمِنَofالأَلَمِpain.
And He has descended His Book as a cure for what is in the chests. And whatever strikes the believer in the world with calamities is like what strikes the body of pain.
