ثُمَّThenالمَذهَبُThe doctrineالصَّحيحُRight**وَهُوَAnd it isمَذهَبٌDoctrineأَهْلُOf the peopleالسُّنَّةِOf the traditionوَالجَمَاعَةِAnd the communityأَنْThatأَفْعَالٌActionsالْعِبَادِOf the servantsعَلَىAre ofنَوْعَيْنِTwo types::مِنْهَاSome of themمَاWhat isوَمِنْهَاAnd some of themمَاWhat isمَعْصِيَةٌSinفَالطَّاعَةُSo obedienceوَالْمَعْصِيَةُAnd the sinبِهَذَاIn thisطَاعَةٌObedience
Then the correct doctrine, which is the doctrine of the people of the Sunnah and the community, states that the actions of servants are of two types: some of them are good and some of them are sin, so obedience and sin are understood in this context.
فَإِنْIf it is saidقِيلَIt is saidمَاWhatمَعْنَىIs the meaning ofقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَىThe ExaltedمَاWhatأَصَابَكَHas afflicted youمِنْOfحَسَنَةٍGoodnessفَمَنThen fromاللَّهِGodوَمَاAnd whatأَصَابَكَHas afflicted youمِنْOfسَيِّئَةٍEvilفَمَنThen fromنَفْسِكَYourselfقُلْنَاWe said::مَعْنَاهُIts meaning isأَنْThatلَاNotيُضَافُIs addedالشَّرُّEvilإِلَىToاللَّهِGodعِندَAtالاِنْفِرَادِIndependenceمُرَاعَاةًConsiderationلِلْأَدَبِTo the etiquetteوَإِنْEven ifكَانَIt wasحُصُولُThe occurrenceذَٰلِكَThatمِنَFromالْعَبْدِThe servantبِتَخْلِيقِBy creatingاللَّهِGodإِيَّاهُHimوَذَٰلِكَAnd thatلَأَنَّBecauseالإِضَافَةَThe additionعَلَىToنَوْعَيْنِTwo types..إِضَافَةٌAdditionتَحْقِيقٌ،Verification,إِضَافَةٌAdditionتَكْرِيمٌ،Honor,فَإِضَافَةُSo the additionالتَّحْقِيقِOf verificationمِثْلُLikeقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَىThe ExaltedوَاللَّهُAnd GodمِيرَاثٌInheritanceالسَّمَاوَاتِOf the heavensوَالْأَرْضِAnd the earthوَإِضَافَةٌAnd additionالتَّكْرِيمِOf honorمِثْلُLikeقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَىThe Exalted«بَيْتُHouseاللَّهِGodوَ»"«"وَنَاقَةُAnd the she-camelاللَّهِGodفَالطَّاعَةُSo obedienceوَالْمَعْصِيَةُAnd the sinخَارِجَتَانِAre outsideعَنْOfإِضَافَةِThe additionالتَّحْقِيقِOf verificationلِأَنَّBecauseذَٰلِكَThatمَذْهَبٌDoctrineالمُجْبَرَةِOf the compulsionوَبَقِيَتْAnd remainedإِضَافَةُThe additionالتَّكْرِيمِOf honorفَالطَّاعَةُSo obedienceمَكْرُمَةٌIs an honorمَرْضِيَّةٌPleasantجَازَIs permissibleأَنْToتُضافَBe addedإِلَىToاللَّهِGodتَعَالَىThe ExaltedعِندَAtالْاِنْفِرَادِThe independenceفَيُقَالُThen it is said
If it is said, what is the meaning of His saying, the Exalted, 'What has afflicted you of goodness is from God, and what has afflicted you of evil is from yourself?' We say: Its meaning is that evil is not added to God in isolation due to respect, even though its occurrence is from the servant as created by God.
وَذَٰلِكَAnd thatلَأَنَّBecauseالإِضَافَةَThe additionإِلَىToنَوْعَيْنِTwo types..إِضَافَةٌThe additionتَحْقِيقٌ،Verification,إِضَافَةٌThe additionتَكْرِيمٌ،Honor,فَإِضَافَةٌSo the additionالتَّحْقِيقِOf verificationمِثْلُLikeقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَىThe ExaltedوَاللَّهُAnd GodمِيرَاثٌInheritanceالسَّمَاوَاتِOf the heavensوَالْأَرْضِAnd the earthوَإِضَافَةٌAnd additionالتَّكْرِيمِOf honorمِثْلُLikeقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَىThe Exalted«بَيْتُHouseاللَّهِGodوَ»"«"وَنَاقَةُAnd the she-camelاللَّهِGodفَالطَّاعَةُSo obedienceوَالْمَعْصِيَةُAnd the sinخَارِجَتَانِAre outsideعَنْOfإِضَافَةِThe additionالتَّحْقِيقِOf verificationلِأَنَّBecauseذَٰلِكَThatمَذْهَبٌDoctrineالمُجْبَرَةِOf the compulsionوَبَقِيَتْAnd remainedإِضَافَةٌThe additionالتَّكْرِيمِOf honorفَالطَّاعَةُSo obedienceمَكْرُمَةٌIs an honorمَرْضِيَّةٌPleasantجَازَIs permissibleأَنْToتُضافَBe addedإِلَىToاللَّهِGodتَعَالَىThe ExaltedعِندَAtالْاِنْفِرَادِThe independenceفَيُقَالُThen it is said
And that is because the addition can be of two types. The addition of verification, like His saying, the Exalted: 'Indeed, God is the inheritance of the heavens and the earth.' And the addition of honor, like His saying, the Exalted: 'The house of God' and 'the she-camel of God.' So obedience and sin are outside of the addition of verification because that is the doctrine of the compulsionists. The addition of honor remains, so obedience is an honor, acceptable, and can be added to God the Exalted in isolation, and it is said that the good comes from God.
وَالشَّرُّAnd the evilلَيْسَIs notمِنْOfمَحَلِّThe placeالإِكْرَامِOf honorعِندَAtالاِنْضِيَافِIn the joiningإِلَىToاللَّهِGodعِندَAtالْانْفِرَادِAt independenceوَلَكِنَّهُBut itيُضَافُIs addedإِلَىToاللَّهِGodعِندَAtالجُمْلَةِOverallكَمَاAsقَالَHe saidاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىThe Exalted::«"قُلْSayكُلُّAllمِنْFromعِندَAtاللَّهِGod،,فَإِنْIfأَشْكَلَComplicated
And evil is not from the place of honor with respect to God at the independence. But it is added to God at the totality, as God the Exalted said: 'Say, all is from God.' If this is complicated for you in actions.
فَاعْتَبِرْهُThen consider itبِالْأَعْيَانِWith respect to entitiesإِنَّهُIndeed, itلَاNotيُقَالُBe saidيَاOخَالِقُCreatorالْخَنَازِيرِOf the pigsوَالثَّعَابِينِAnd snakes
Then consider it regarding entities; indeed, it cannot be said, 'O Creator of pigs and snakes.'
