نَبِيٌّProphetبَعْدِيَafter me

A prophet after me.

(عَابِدِينَ)(Worshippers)أَيthat isكَانُواthey wereعَابِدِينَworshippersاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىExalted

(Worshippers) that is, they were worshippers of Allah, Exalted.

(ثَابِتِينَ(steadfastعَلَىonالْحَقِّthe truth) وَمَعَand with(الْحَقِّ)(the truth)

(Steadfast on the truth) and with (the truth).

أَيthat isكَانُواthey wereمَعَwithالْحَقِّthe truthتَعَالَىExaltedفِيinعِبَادَتِهِمtheir worshipيَعْنِيit meansعَبَدُوهُthey worshipped Himبِالْصِّدْقِwith sincerityوَالْإِخْلَاصِand purityوَالْخُشُوعِand humilityوَالْخُضُوعِand submission

That is, they were with the truth, Exalted, in their worship; it means they worshipped Him with sincerity, purity, humility, and submission.

(نَتَوَلَّاهُمْ)(we love them)أَيthat isنُحِبُّهُمْwe love them(جَمِيعًا)(all)

(We love them) that is, we love them all.

أَيthat isجَمِيعَallالْخُلَفَاءَthe caliphsالأَرْبَعَةَthe four

That is, all four caliphs.

لَاnotنُفَرِّقُwe differentiateبَيْنَهُمْbetween themبِحُبٍّby lovingالْبَعْضِsomeوَبُغْضٍand hatingالْبَعْضِsome

We do not differentiate between them by loving some and hating others.

الرَّافِضَةُthe Rafidahأَبْغَضُواhatedالْخُلَفَاءَthe caliphsالثَّلاَثَةَthe threeأَيthat isجَمِيعَallالْخُلَفَاءَthe caliphsالثَّلاَثَةَthe threeفَرَضَوْاso they rejectedوَتَرَكُواand leftالْمَذْهَبَthe doctrineالْحَقَّthe truth

The Rafidah hated the three caliphs; that is, all three caliphs, so they rejected and left the true doctrine.

وَالْخَوَارِجُand the KharijitesأَبْغَضُواhatedعَلِيًّاAliفَخَرَجُواso they exitedعَنْfromالصِّرَاطِthe straight path

And the Kharijites hated Ali, so they exited from the straight path.

وَلَاand we do notنَذْكُرُmentionأَحَدًاanyoneمِنْfromأَصْحَابِthe companionsالرَّسُولِthe MessengerاللَّهِAllahإِلَّاexceptبِخَيْرٍwith good

And we do not mention anyone from the companions of the Messenger of Allah except with good.

يَعْنِيit meansاعْتِقَادُthe beliefأَهْلُthe peopleالسُّنَّةِof the Sunnahوَالْجَمَاعَةِand the communityتَزْكِيَةٌthe purificationجَمِيعِallالصَّحَابَةِthe companionsوَالثَّنَاءَand praiseعَلَيْهِمْon themكَمَاjust asأَثْنَىHe praisedاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىExaltedوَرَسُولَهُand His Messengerعَلَيْهِمْon them

It means the belief of the people of the Sunnah and the community is the purification of all companions and praising them as Allah, Exalted, and His Messenger praised them.

وَمَاAnd whatجَرَىoccurredبَيْنَbetweenعَلِيٍّAliوَمُعَاوِيَةَand Muawiyaكَانَwasمَبْنِيًّاbasedعَلَىonالْاجْتِهَادِijtihadكَذَاthus

And what occurred between Ali and Muawiya was based on ijtihad, thus.

فِيInالْأَحْيَاءِthe revivingعَنِaboutعُمَرَUmarرَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُAllahعَنْهُwith himقَالَsaidرَسُولُ اللَّهِthe Messenger of AllahأَكْرِمُواHonorأَصْحَابِيmy companionsفَإِنَّهُمْfor they areخِيَارُكُمْthe best of youثُمَّthenالَّذِينَthose whoيَتْبَعُونَهُمْfollow themثُمَّthenيَظْهَرُwill appearالْكَذِبُthe falsehood

In the reviving, Umar may Allah be pleased with him said: "Honor my companions for they are the best of you, then those who follow them, then there will appear falsehood."

مِنْfromالْمَصَابِيحِthe lampsوَلَاand do notنَكْفُرُdisbelieveمُسْلِمًاa Muslimبِذَنبٍwith sinمِنَfromالذُّنُوبِthe sinsوَإِنْand ifكَانَتْit wasكَبِيرَةًgreatإِذَاifلَمْnotيَسْتَحِلَّهَاtreat it as lawfulيَعْنِيit meansوَلَاand do notنَكْفُرُdisbelieveمُسْلِمًاa Muslimبِذَنبٍwith sinكَمَاasيَكْفُرُthey disbelieveوَالْمُؤْمِنُونَand the believersمَسَاوُونَare equalفِيinالإِيمَانِfaithوَالتَّوْحِيدِand the onenessمُتَفَاضِلُونَare distinguishedفِيinالأَعْمَالِthe deedsوَالْإِسْلَامُand Islamهُوَisالتَّسْلِيمُsubmissionوَالْإنْقِيَادُand obedienceلِأَوَامِرِto the commandsاللَّهِAllahتَعَالَىExalted

And do not disbelieve a Muslim with a sin from the sins, and if it was great if he did not treat it as lawful; It means and do not disbelieve a Muslim with a sin as they disbelieve, and the believers are equal in faith and in oneness; they are distinguished in deeds, and Islam is submission and obedience to the commands of Allah, Exalted.
