The two paths mean between good and evil, so if he chooses evil, he is excused, and if you consider the servants excused for committing sins, and if he chooses good, he has a favor over the one given authority and the choosable.

فَافْهَمْunderstandإِنْifشَاءَwilledاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىthe Most Highثُمَّthenالْمَذْهَبَthe doctrineالصَّحِيحَcorrectوَهُوَand it isمَذْهَبٌthe approachأَهْلُthe peopleالسُّنَّةِof the Sunnahوَالْجَمَاعَةِand the communityأَنْthatلِلْعَبْدِfor the servantفِعْلًاan actionحَقِيقَةًrealityلَاnotمَجَازًاfiguratively

Understand, if God wills, then the correct approach, which is the approach of the people of Sunnah and the community, is that for the servant, there is a real action, not a figurative one.

وَقَالَتْAnd saidالْمُجَبِّرَةُthe deterministsلَاnoفِعْلَactionلِلْعَبْدِfor the servantوَلَهُand he hasفِعْلٌactionعَلَىonوَجْهٍmannerمَجَازٍfigurativeلَاnotعَلَىonوَجْهٍmannerالْحَقِيقَةِthe truth

And the determinists said, 'There is no action for the servant, and he has action in a figurative manner, not in a true manner.'

وَنَرُدُّAnd we respondعَلَيْهِمْto themفَنَقُولُand sayإِنَّthatقَوْلَكُمْyour statementهَذَاthisيُؤَدِّيleadsإِلَىtoإِسْقَاطِthe negationالرَّجَاءِhopeوَالخَوْفِand fearعَنْfromالْعَبْدِthe servantلَاnotيَخَافُhe fearsمِنْfromفِعْلِهِhis actionوَلَاnorيَرْجُوhopesعَلَىforخَيْرِهِthe goodعَمَلِهِhis deedوَهَذَاand thisكُفْرٌis disbeliefلَأَنَّbecauseفِيinزَوَالِthe absenceسُوءٍthe badالرَّجَاءِhopeقُنُوطًاdespairingقَالَsaidاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىthe Most HighلَاnotتَقْنَطُواdespairمِنْfromرَحْمَةِmercyاللَّهِGod

And we respond to them and say that your statement leads to the negation of hope and fear from the servant; he does not fear from his action and does not hope for the good of his deed, and this is disbelief because in the absence of bad hope is despairing; God, The Most High said, 'Do not despair of the mercy of God.'

وَقَالَAnd saidفِيinآيَةٍthe verseأُخْرَىٰanotherإِنَّهُsurelyلَاnoيَئِسَdespairمِنْfromرُوحِspiritاللَّهِGodإِلَّاexceptالْقَوْمُthe peopleالْكَافِرُونَthe disbelievers

And He said in another verse, 'Surely, there is no despair of the spirit of God except for the people who are disbelievers.'

وَفِيAnd inزَوَالِthe absenceالْخَوْفِthe fearإِسْقَاطِthe negationالْعِبَادَةِthe servitudeوَتَفْوِيتِand the forfeitureالرُّبُوبِيَّةِthe lordshipوَهَذَاand thisأَشَدُّis more severeمِنَthanالأَوَّلِthe first

And in the absence of fear is the negation of servitude and the forfeiture of lordship, and this is more severe than the first.

And surely the two groups, the Qadarites, went astray by attributing a quality of God the Most High to the servant, and in the creation of actions.

And the determinists, by attributing their ugly actions to God the Most High, Allah the Most High, are exalted above that.

Thus in the origin, and perhaps some (words) fell from here, some expressions of the corrector.

Indeed, for the servant.
