اللَّهُGodالرَّحْمَـٰنُthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful
God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
المُقَدِّمَةُthe introduction
The Introduction
الْحَمْدُPraiseلِلَّهِbe to Godرَبِّthe Lordالْعَالَمِينَof the worldsوَالصَّلَاةُand prayerوَالسَّلاَمُand peaceعَلَىuponسَيِّدِthe masterالْمُرْسَلِينَof the messengersوَرَسُولِand the messengerرَبِّthe Lordالْعَالَمِينَof the worldsوَعَلَىand uponآلِهِhis familyوَأَصْحَابِهِand his companionsأَجْمَعِينَall together
Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the master of the messengers and the messenger of the Lord of the worlds, as well as upon his family and all his companions.
وَبَعْدُAnd after::فَمِنْAmongالْغَنَائِمِthe spoilsالْعَظِيمَةِthe greatالَّتِيwhichيَجِبُshouldالْمُبَادَرَةُthe initiativeإِلَىtoنَيْلِهَاattain it
And after that, among the great spoils that should be seized is the revival of Islamic heritage in all its research.
هُوَit isإِحْيَاءُrevivingالْتُّرَاثِthe heritageالْإِسْلَامِيِّIslamicفِيinجَمِيعِallأَبْحَاثِهِits researchوَلَاand notسِيمََاespeciallyفِيمَاin whatيَتَعَلَّقُrelatesبِشَرَائِعِto the lawsالإِسْلَامِof Islamمِنْofتَفْسِيرٍinterpretationوَحَدِيثٍand hadithوَفِقْهٍand jurisprudence
Especially those that relate to the laws of Islam, like interpretation, hadith, and jurisprudence.
يَتَّضِحُIt becomes clearبِذَٰلِكَthusمَاwhatيَجِبُshouldعَلَىonالْمُسْلِمِthe Muslimفِيinحَيَاتِهِhis life,,وَمِنْand amongأَهَمِّthe most importantمَاwhatيَتَأَكَّدُis confirmedالِاعْتِنَاءُtaking careبِهِto itعِلْمُthe knowledgeالْفِقْهِof jurisprudenceفِيinكِتَابِthe bookاللَّهِof Godوَفِيand inسُنَّةِthe traditionرَسُولِthe messengerاللَّهِGodوَفِيand inشَرَائِعِthe lawsوَاجِبَاتِobligationsاللَّهِof God
Thus, it becomes clear what a Muslim should do in his life, and among the most important things that should be confirmed is taking care of the knowledge of jurisprudence in the Book of God, in the tradition of the messenger of God, and in the laws of God's obligations.
وَلَقَدْAnd indeedخَدَمَservedهَذَاthisالْمَجَالَfieldفِيinالْعُهُودِthe agesالْمَاضِيَةِpastرُجَالٌmenصَدَقُواwho were truthfulمَاwhatعَاهَدُواthey pledgedاللَّهَGodعَلَيْهِto Him,,فَاغْتَرَفُواand they drew uponمِنْfromمَعِينِthe sourceالْحَقِيقَةِof truthوَوَضَّحُواand they clarifiedمَعَالِمَthe featuresالشَّرِيعَةِof the Shariahفَكَانُواand they wereقَلِيلًاa littleمِنْofاللَّيْلِthe nightمَاnotيَهْجَعُونَthey sleep
And indeed, this field was served in the past by men who were truthful to what they pledged to God; they drew from the source of truth and clarified the features of the Shariah; they were little in the night, not sleeping.
وَبِالْأَسْحَارِAnd during the pre-dawnهُمْtheyيَسْتَغْفِرُونَseek forgiveness
And during the pre-dawn, they seek forgiveness.
كَانَwasدَأْبُهُمْtheir habitدِرَاسَةُthe studyالدِّينِof religion,,وَالْبَحْثُand the searchعَنْforالْإِسْلَامِIslamوَإِيضَاحُand clarifyingمَقَاصِدِهِits objectivesلِلْأَنَامِfor the peopleوَتَقْدِيمُهَاand presenting itلِلْخَلَفِto the generationsسَهْلَةًeasyسَائِغَةًand palatable
Their habit was the study of religion, and the search for Islam, and clarifying its objectives for the people, and presenting it to the generations in an easy and palatable way.
فَيَاSo theyلَهُمْfor themمِنْfromسَلَفٍthe predecessorsكِرَامٍnobleوَضَّحُواclarifiedالطَّرِيقَthe wayوَأَنَارُواand they illuminatedالسَّبِيلَthe pathوَأَبَانُواand they made clearالتُّرَاثَthe heritageوَسَجَّلُواand they recordedعِلْمَهُمْtheir knowledgeلِيَكُونَto beذَخِيرَةًa treasureحَيَّةًaliveلِلْأَجْيَالِfor the generationsالْقَادِمَةِto come
So they were noble predecessors who clarified the way, illuminated the path, made clear the heritage, and recorded their knowledge to be a living treasure for the generations to come.
وَحَتَّىAnd so thatيَكُونَit becomesلَهَاfor itنِعْمَYesالزَّادُthe provision
And so that it becomes indeed a good provision for it.
إِنَّنَاIndeed weلَوْifرَجَعْنَاwe returnإِلَىtoأَسْفَارِthe booksالْعِلْمِof knowledgeوَسُطُورِand the linesالدِّرَايَةِof masteryالَّتِيwhichحَرَّرَهَاwere written byأُولَـٰئِكَthoseالْقَوْمُpeopleلَقَدْرَتْwe could appreciateجُهُودَهُمْtheir effortsوَعَلِمْتُand I knewأَقْصَىthe utmostمَرَامِيَهُمْof their intentions
Indeed, if we return to the books of knowledge and the lines of mastery that were written by those people, we could appreciate their efforts and know the utmost of their intentions.
كَانَwasأَحَدُهُمْone of themيَجِدُfoundمَلَذَّاتِpleasuresالْحَيَاةِof lifeفِيinسَهَرٍstaying awake
One of them found the pleasures of life in staying awake.
