اللَّهُAllah
Allah.
وَعُمَرُand Omarرَضِيَmay be pleasedاللَّهُAllahعَنْهُمَاwith them bothوَاخْتَلَفُواand they differedفِيinعُثْمَانَUthmanوَعَلِيٍّand Aliرَضِيَmay be pleasedعَنْهُمَاwith them both
And Omar, may Allah be pleased with them both, and they differed concerning Uthman and Ali, may Allah be pleased with them both.
قَالَSome saidبَعْضُهُمْsome of themعُثْمَانَUthmanأَفْضَلُis betterمِنْthanعَلِيٍّAliكَمَاasفِيinمَرَاتِبِthe ranksالْخِلَافَةِof the caliphate
Some of them said: Uthman is better than Ali as in the ranks of the caliphate.
وَقَالَAnd some saidبَعْضُهُمْsome of themعَلِيٌّAliأَفْضَلُis betterمِنْthanعُثْمَانَUthman
And some said: Ali is better than Uthman.
وَقَالَAnd some saidبِفَضْلِby favorالشَّيْخَيْنِof the two shaykhsوَبِحُبِّand by the loveالْخَاتِنَيْنِof the two wives
And some said: By the favor of the two shaykhs and by the love of the two wives.
وَاخْتَلَفُواAnd they differedفِيinتَفْضِيلِthe superiorityفَاطِمَةَFatimaوَعَائِشَةَand Aishaرَضِيَmay be pleasedعَنْهُمَاwith them both
And they differed in the superiority of Fatima and Aisha, may Allah be pleased with them both.
قَالَSome saidبَعْضُهُمْsome of themعَائِشَةُAishaأَفْضَلُis betterمِنْthanفَاطِمَةَFatimaلَأَنَّbecauseدَرَجَتَهَاher rankمَعَwithالنَّبِيِّthe ProphetفِيinالْجَنَّةِParadise
Some of them said: Aisha is better than Fatima because her rank with the Prophet in Paradise.
وَقَالَAnd some saidبَعْضُهُمْsome of themفَاطِمَةُFatimaأَفْضَلُis betterمِنْthanعَائِشَةَAishaلَأَنَّbecauseدَرَجَةَthe rankعَائِشَةَAishaإِنَّمَاis onlyارْتَفَعَتْraisedتَبَعًاfollowingلِلنَّبِيِّthe Prophetعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeace
And some said: Fatima is better than Aisha because the rank of Aisha is raised only following the Prophet, peace be upon him.

Another Chapter:
قَالَThe jurist saidالْفَقِيهُthe juristرَضِيَmay be pleasedاللَّهُAllahعَنْهُwith himقَدhasذَكَرْنَاmentionedمَسَائِلَissuesهَذَاof thisالْبَابِchapterإِلَّاexceptمَسْأَلَةًone issueوَاحِدَةًoneوَهِيَand it isمَسْأَلَةًissueخَلْقُthe creationالْجَنَّةِof Paradiseوَالنَّارِand the Fire
The jurist said, may Allah be pleased with him, we have mentioned the issues of this chapter except one issue which is the creation of Paradise and the Fire.
قُلْنَاWe saidمَخْلُوقَتَانِthey are createdوَقَالَتْand the group saidالْجَهْمِيَّةُthe Jahmiyyahوَالْمُعْتَزِلَةُand the Mu'tazilahهُمَاthey areغَيْرُnotمَخْلُوقَتَيْنِcreatedلَأَنَّbecauseاللَّهَAllahتَعَالَىthe Most Highلَيْسَis notبِعَاجِزٍincapableعَنْofخَلْقِهَاcreating themفَيَخْلُقُهَاso He creates themفِيat the timeاِفْتِرَاقِof separationالْفَرِيقَيْنِof the two groups
We said: they are created, and the Jahmiyyah and the Mu'tazilah said: they are not created because Allah, the Most High, is not incapable of creating them at the time of the separation of the two groups.
وَنَرُدُّAnd we refuteعَلَيْهِمْagainst themبِقَوْلِهِwith His sayingتَعَالَىthe Most Highفِيinشَأْنِthe matterالْجَنَّةِof ParadiseوَأُزْلِفَتِAnd brought nearالْجَنَّةِthe Paradiseلِلْمُتَّقِينَfor the righteous,وَفِيand inشَأْنِthe matterالنَّارِthe Fireبِقَوْلِهِwith His sayingتَعَالَىthe Most High:«أُعِدَّتْ"preparedلِلْكَافِرِينَfor the disbelievers
And we refute against them with His saying, the Most High, concerning Paradise: "And brought near Paradise for the righteous", and concerning the Fire, with His saying, the Most High: "It has been prepared for the disbelievers."
وَلَأَنَّAnd becauseقَوْلَهُمْtheir sayingيُؤَدِّيleadsإِلَىtoتَكْذِيبِthe denialاللَّهَof AllahفِيinخَبَرِهِHis reportلَأَنَّهُbecauseتَعَالَىthe Most Highخَوْفَfearالْكَافِرِينَthe disbelieversبِالنَّارِby the Fireوَرَغَّبَand He encouragesالْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersفِيinالْجَنَّةِParadiseوَالتَّخْوِيفَand the warningبِالْمَعْدُومِof the nonexistentوَالتَّرْغِيبَand the encouragementفِيهِin itلَغُوٌis nonsenseوَعَيْبٌand is a shameتَعَالَىthe Most HighاللَّهُAllahعَنْabout
And because their saying leads to the denial of Allah in His report, because the Most High, fears the disbelievers by the Fire and encourages the believers in Paradise, and the warning of the nonexistent and the encouragement in it is nonsense and is a shame. Allah, the Most High, is above that.
