خَلَقَGod createdاللَّهُGodتَبَارَكَblessedوَتَعَالَىand exaltedالْلَّوْحُthe Tabletالْمَحْفُوظُthe Preservedحَفِظَهُprotected itبِمَاby whatكَتَبَwas writtenفِيهِin itمِمَّاof whatكَانَwasوَمَاand whatيَكُونُwill beوَلَاand notيَعْلَمُknowsمَاwhatفِيْهِis in itإِلَّاexceptاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىexaltedوَهُوَand it isمِنْofدُرَةٍpearlبَيْضَاءَwhiteقَوَائِمِهِits columnsيَاقُوتَتَيْنِtwo rubiesحَمْرَوَانِredوَهُوَand it isفِيinعَظَمٍgreatness
God, blessed and exalted, created the Preserved Tablet and protected it by what was written in it, of what was and what will be, and no one knows what is in it except God alone. It is made of white pearl, its columns are two red rubies, and it is in great size.
خَلَقَcreatedاللَّهُGodسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himوَتَعَالَىand exaltedقَلَماًa penمِنْofجَوْهَرٍjewelطُولُهُits lengthخَمْسُمَائَةٍfive hundredعَامٍyearsمَشْقُوقٍsplitاللِّسَانِthe tongueيَنْبَعُsproutsالنُّورُthe lightمِنْهُfrom itكَمَاasيَنْبَعُspringsمِنْfromأَقْلاَمٍthe pensأَهْلِthe peopleالدُّنْيَاof the worldالْمِدَادُink
God, glorified and exalted, created a pen from jewel, its length five hundred years, split-tongued, light springs from it just as it springs from the pens of the people of the world, its ink.
وَفِيAnd inالْهَيْئَةِthe shapeالسُّنِيَّةِthe radiantلِلْسُّيُوطِيof Al-Suyutiعَنْaboutابْنِthe sonعَبَّاسٍof Abbasرَضِيَmay he be pleasedاللَّهُGodعَنْهُمَاwith themقَالَsaidرَسُولُthe Messengerاللَّهِof Godﷺpeace be upon himإِنَّIndeedاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىis exaltedخَلَقَcreatedلَوْحًاa Tabletحَدٍّthe faceوَجِيهٍof its frontمِنْofيَاقُوتٍa rubyحَمْرَاءَredوَالْوَجْهُand the faceالثَّانِيthe secondمِنْofزُمُرُّدَةٍemeraldخَضْرَاءَgreenقَلَمُهُHis penالنُّورِthe lightفِيهِin itيَخْلُقُcreatesوَفِيهِand in itيَرْزُقُprovidesوَفِيَهِand in itيُحْيِيgives lifeأَحَدٌoneوَفِيَهِand in itيُمِيتُcauses to dieوَفِيَهِand in itيُعِزُّgives honorوَفِيَهِand in itيُذِلُّgives humiliationوَفِيَهِand in itيَفْعَلُdoesمَاwhateverيَشَاءُHe willsفِيinكُلِّeveryيَوْمٍdayوَلَيْلَةٍand nightإِلَىuntilأَنْthatالسَّاعَةِthe hourتَقُومُrises
And in the radiant shape according to Al-Suyuti, Ibn Abbas may God be pleased with him said: "Indeed, God created a Tablet, the front of which is of a red ruby and the second face is of a green emerald. His pen is the light; in it He creates, in it He provides, in it He gives life, in it He causes to die, in it He gives honor, in it He gives humiliation, and in it He does whatever He wills in every day and night until the Hour rises.
قَالَHe saidالمُؤَلِّفُthe authorأَبُوAbuحَنِيفَةَHanifaرَضِيَmay he be pleasedاللَّهُGodعَنْهُwith himوَنَقَرُand we acknowledgeبِأَنَّthatاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىis exaltedعَلَىaboveالْعَرْشِthe Throneاسْتَوَىhas establishedمِنْwithoutغَيْرَwithoutأَنْthatيَكُونَto beلَهُfor Himحَاجَةٌneedوَاسْتِقْرَارٌor stabilityعَلَيْهِon itوَهُوَand He isحَافِظٌthe preserverالْعَرْشِof the Throneوَغَيْرٌand other thanالْعَرْشِthe Throneمِنْwithoutغَيْرَneedingاحْتِيَاجٌneedفَلَوْif it wasكَانَwasمُحْتَاجًاneedingلِمَاto whatقَدَرَcouldعَلَىtoإِيجَادِcreateالْعَالَمَthe worldوَتَدْبِيرِهِand its managementكَالْمَخْلُوقِينَlike the creaturesوَلَوْifكَانَhe wasمُحْتَاجًاneedingإِلَىtoالْجُلُوسِsittingوَالْقَرَارِand settlementفَقَبْلَso beforeخَلْقِthe creationالإِسْتَوَاءِthe establishment
The author Abu Hanifa may God be pleased with him said: "And we acknowledge that God is exalted above the Throne without needing it or establishing upon it, He is the preserver of the Throne and other than the Throne without needing. If He were in need, He could not create the world and manage it like the creatures. If He were needing to sit and establish, He would have done so before the creation."
