وَجَمَعَAnd collectingالْمَالَmoney

And collecting money

(حَلَالٌ(HalalأَقُولُI sayقَالَsaidأَهْلُthe peopleالسُّنَّةِof the Sunnahوَجَمَاعَةٍand the communityإِنَّIfكَانَthere isلَهُfor himقُوتٌprovisionفَالْكَسْبُthen earningلَهُfor himرُخْصَةٌis permissible

(Halal) I say, the people of the Sunnah and the community said that if there is provision for him, then earning is permissible for him

فَإِنَّAnd ifكَانَthere isمُضْطَرًّاin necessityأُولَهُfor him and his familyأَهْلٌthe familyوَعِيَالٌand dependentsفَالْكَسْبُthen earningعَلَيْهِupon himفَرِيضَةٌis an obligation

And if he is in necessity for him and his family, then earning is an obligation upon him

كذَاthusفِيinبَحْرِthe seaالْكَلَامِof speech

Thus it is in the sea of speech

وَفِيهِAnd in itأَيْضًاalsoأَنْthatرِوَايَةٍnarrationالرِّزْقِof sustenanceمِنَfromالْكَسْبِearningكُفْرٌis disbeliefوَضَلَالٌand misguidanceوَمِنَAnd fromاللَّهِAllahتَعَالَىthe Most Highدِينٌreligionوَشَرِيعَةٌand law

And in it also that the narration of sustenance from earning is disbelief and misguidance, and from Allah the Most High is religion and law

يَدُلُّindicatesعَلَيْهِon itمَاwhatرُوِيَwas narratedعَنْfromالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetلَاthatأَنَّهُhe saidقَالَsaidثَمَنُthe priceطَلَبِof seekingالدُّنْيَاlifeحَلَالًاis permissibleاسْتَعْفَافًاseeking to refrainعَنْfromالْمَسْأَلَةِaskingوَسَعْيًاand strivingعَلَىforعِيَالِهِhis dependentsوَتَعَطُّفًاand being kindعَلَىonجَارِهِhis neighborجَاءَcameيَوْمَthe dayالْقِيَامَةِof Resurrectionوَوَجْهُهُand his faceكَالْقَمَرِlike the moonلَيْلَةَthe nightالْبَدْرِfull moon

It indicates what was narrated from the Prophet that he said: The price of seeking life is permissible, seeking to refrain from asking, striving for his dependents, and being kind to his neighbor, will come on the Day of Resurrection with his face like the moon on a full moon night

وَمَنْAnd whoeverطَلَبَseeksالدُّنْيَاthe worldly lifeحَلَالًاin a permissible wayمُفَاخِرًاboastfullyمُكَاثِرًاand increasingلَقِيَwill meetاللَّهَAllahوَهُوَand heعَلَيْهِupon himغَضْبَانٌis angry

And whoever seeks the worldly life in a permissible way, boastfully and increasing, will meet Allah and he will be angry upon him

وَفِيهِAnd in itأَيْضًاalso**ثُمَّthenالدَّليلُthe evidenceعَلَىonأَنْthatالاِكْتِسَابَearningمِنْfromحَلَالٍHalalلَيْسَis notبِحَرَامٍforbidden

And in it also, then the evidence on that earning from Halal is not forbidden

لِأَنَّBecauseالْأَنْبِيَاءِthe Prophetsعَلَيْهِمُupon themالصَّلَوَاتُthe prayersوَالسَّلَامُand peaceكَانُواwereمُتَوَكِّلِينَdependent on Allahمَكْتَسِبِينَand earning

Because the prophets upon them prayers and peace were dependent on Allah and earning

لِأَنَّBecauseآدَمَAdamعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeaceكَانَwasزَرَّاعًاa farmer,,(الأَنْبِيَاءِ(The Prophetsعَلَيْهِمُupon themالصَّلَوَاتُthe prayersوَالسَّلَامُand peaceكَانُواwereوَإِدْرِيسُIdrisعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeaceكَانَwasخَيَّاطًاa tailor,,وَنُوحٌand Noahعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeaceكَانَwasنَجَّارًاa carpenter,,وَإِبْرَاهِيمُand Ibrahimعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeaceكَانَwasبَزَّازًاa merchant,,وَمُوسَىand Musaعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeaceكَانَwasأَجِيرًاa laborerلِشُعَيْبٍfor Shu'aybعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeace,,وَمُحَمَّدٌand Muhammadعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeaceكَانَwasغَازِيًاa soldierانْتَهَىendedمُلَخَّصًاsummarizingمِنَfromبَحْرِthe seaالْكَلَامِof speechوَتَمَامِهِand its completionهُنَاكَthere

Because Adam upon him peace was a farmer, (the Prophets upon them prayers and peace were) Idrees upon him peace was a tailor, and Noah upon him peace was a carpenter, and Ibrahim upon him peace was a merchant, and Musa upon him peace was a laborer for Shu'ayb upon him peace, and Muhammad upon him peace was a soldier, summarizing from the sea of speech and its completion there

مُلَخَّصًاSummarizingمِنَfromبَحْرِthe seaالْكَلَامِof speechوَتَمَامِهِand its completionهُنَاكَthere

Summarizing from the sea of speech and its completion there

قَالَHe said(وَجَمَعَ(And collectingالْمَالَmoneyوَمِنَAnd fromالْحَرَامِthe prohibited

He said: (And collecting money and from the prohibited)

(حَرَامٌ(ForbiddenأَقُولُI sayقَوْلُهُhis sayingوَجَمَعَand collectingالْمَالَmoneyمِنَfromالْحَرَامِthe prohibited

(Forbidden) I say, his saying: and collecting money from the prohibited is prohibited

ظَاهِرٌis apparentلِأَنَّBecauseالْحَرَامَthe prohibitedلَاdoes notيُصْبِحُbecomeحَلَالًاpermissibleبِالْجَمْعِby collectingكَعَكْسِهِlike its oppositeوَأَيْضًاand alsoإِنَّIfالْحُرْمَةَthe prohibitionتَنْتَقِلُtransfersمِنْfromذِمَّةٍthe responsibilityإِلَىtoذِمَّةٍthe responsibilityفَقَالَHe saidفِيinالأَشْبَاهِthe similar casesوَالنّظَائِرِand counterparts

It is apparent because the prohibited does not become permissible by collecting like its opposite, and also if the prohibition transfers from one responsibility to another, he said in the similar cases and counterparts
