وَمِنَAndعَطْفِthe conjunctionالْمُلْزِمِobligatoryقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَىthe Most HighأَطِيعُواObeyاللَّهَGodوَأَطِيعُواand obeyالرَّسُولَthe Messengerوَأُولِيand those in authorityالأَمْرِthe commandمُنْكَرٌdenied
And the obligatory conjunction is His saying: "Obey God and obey the Messenger and those in authority."
فَإِنَّهُمْFor theyإِذَاifأَطَاعُواthey obeyedالرَّسُولَthe Messengerفَقَدْindeedأَطَاعُواthey obeyedاللَّهَGodكَمَاasقَالَHe saidتَعَالَىthe Most HighمَنْWhoيُخَالِفِdisobeysالرَّسُولَthe Messengerفَقَدْthenأَطَاعَhe has obeyedاللَّهَGod
For if they obey the Messenger, then they have indeed obeyed God, as He the Most High said: "Whoever disobeys the Messenger has indeed disobeyed God."
وَإِذَاAnd ifأَطَاعَhe obeysاللَّهَGodمَنْwhoبَلَغَتَهُhas receivedرِسَالَةَthe MessageمُحَمَّدٍMuhammadفَإِنَّهُthen indeedلَاthere is noبِدٌّwayأَنْbutيُطِيعَhe obeysالرَّسُولَthe Messengerفَإِنَّهُfor there is noلَاobeyingطَاعَةًobedienceاللَّهَto Godإِلَّاexceptبِطَاعَتِهِby obeying him.
And if he obeys God, whoever has received the message of Muhammad, then indeed he must obey the Messenger, for there is no obedience to God except by obeying him.
وَالثَّالِثُAnd the thirdعَطْفٌconjunctionبَعْضِsomeالشَّيْءِthingعَلَيْهِupon itكَقَوْلِهِas His sayingحَفِظُواThey preservedعَلَىonالصَّلَوَاتِthe prayersوَالصَّلَاةِand the prayerالْوُسْطَىthe middle
And the third can be a conjunction of some things, as His saying: "They preserved the prayers and the middle prayer."
وَقَوْلِهِAnd His sayingوَإِذْAnd whenأَخَذْنَاwe tookمِنَfromالنَّبِيِّينَthe Prophetsمِيثَاقَهُمْtheir covenantوَمِنْكَand from youوَمِنَand fromنُوحٍNoahوَإِبْرَاهِيمَand Abrahamوَمُوسَىand Mosesوَعِيسَىand Jesusابْنِthe son ofمَرْيَمَMary.
And His saying: "And when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus the son of Mary."
وَقَوْلِهِAnd His sayingوَمَنAnd whoeverكَانَwasعَدُوًّاan enemyلِلَّهِto Godوَمَلَائِكَتِهِand to His Angelsوَرُسُلِهِand to His Messengersوَجِبْرِيلَand Gabrielوَمِيكَائِيلَand Mikael.
And His saying: "And whoever was an enemy to God and His Angels and His Messengers and Gabriel and Mikael."
وَقَوْلِهِAnd His sayingوَأَوْرَثَكُمْAnd He gave you
And His saying: 'And He gave you their land.
أَرْضَهُمْtheir landوَدِيَارَهُمْand their homesوَأَمْوَالَهُمْand their wealthوَأَرْضًاand a landلَمْthat you did notتَطَؤُهَاtread upon."
and their wealth, and a land you did not tread upon."
[الأحزاب:[The Confederates: ٢٧27].
وَالرَّابِعُAnd the fourthعَطْفٌconjunctionالْشَّيْءِa thingعَلَىtoالشَّيْءِthe thingلِاخْتِلَافِdue to differingالصَّفَتَيْنِthe attributes.
And the fourth is the conjunction of a thing to another due to differing attributes.
كَقَوْلِهِAs His saying.﴿سَبِّحْ"Glorify,اسْمَthe nameرَبِّكَof your Lordالْأَعْلَىthe Most High.الَّذِيHe whoعَلَىonالْفُرُشِthe canopy
As His saying: "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, Who is on the canopy and who has brought forth the pasture."
وَالَّذِيAnd He whoفَذَرَhas leftفَهَدَىand guided.وَالَّذِيAnd He whoأَخْرَجَhas brought forthالْمَرْعَىthe pasture.
And He who has left to guide, and He who has brought forth the pasture.
[الأعلى،[The Most High,وَقَوْلِهِand His saying.(الَّذِينَ"Those whoيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِالْغَيْبِin the unseen.وَيُقِيمُونَAnd establishالصَّلَاةَthe prayer.وَمِمَّاAnd from whatرَزَقْنَاهُمْWe provided for themيُنْفِقُونَthey spend.وَالَّذِينَAnd those whoيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveبِمَاin what.أُنزِلَwas revealedإِلَيْكَto you.
And His saying: "Those who believe in the unseen and establish the prayer, and from what We provided for them they spend. And those who believe in what was revealed to you."
وَمَاand whatأُنزِلَwas revealedمِنْfromقَبْلِكَbefore you.وَبِالْآخِرَةِand in the Hereafter.
And what was revealed before you, and believe in the Hereafter.
[البقرة].[The Cow].
وَقَدْAnd indeedجَاءَcameفِيinالشِّعْرِpoetryمَاthat whichذُكِرَwas mentionedأَنَّهُthat it wasعَطْفٌattributedلِاخْتِلَافِdue to differingاللَّفْظِwordingفَقَطonly.
And indeed it came in poetry that it was attributed due to differing wording only.
كَقَوْلِهِAs His saying.وَأَلْفَىAnd he foundقَوْلَهَاher wordكَذَبًاto be a lie.وَمَيْنًاand a treachery.
As His saying: "And he found her word to be a lie and treachery."
يُوقِّنُونَthey are assured.
وَمِنَAnd fromالنَّاسِthe peopleمَنْamong themيَدَّعِيclaimsأَنْthatمِثْلَsuchهَذَاthis.جَاءَcameفِيinكِتَابِthe Bookاللَّهِof Godكَمَاasيَذْكُرُونَهُthey mentionفِيinقَوْلِهِHis saying.
And from the people, some claim that such came in the Book of God as they mention in His saying.
شِرْعَةً"A lawوَمِنْهَاجًاand a system.
"A law and a system.
))[المائدة:[The Table: ٤٨]48].
وَهَذَاAnd thisغَلَطٌis an error.مِثْلَSuchهَذَاthisلَاdoes notيَجِيءُcome inفِيtheالْقُرْآنِQur'an.وَلَاNorفِيinكَلَامٍspeech,فَصِيحٍeloquent.
And this is an error. Such does not come in the Qur'an, nor in eloquent speech.
وَغَايَةَAnd the utmostمَاthatيَذْكُرُthey mentionالنَّاسُpeopleاخْتِلَافَthe differenceمَعْنَىin meaningاللَّفْظِthe wording.كَمَاAsأَدَّعَىsome claimed.
And the utmost that people mention is the difference in meaning of the wording, as some claimed.
أَنْthatمِنْfromهَذَاthis.قَوْلِهِHis saying.
His saying.
أَلَاIndeed.حَبَّذَاHow niceهِنْدٌis Hind.وَأَرْضٌAnd the landبِهَاin itهِنْدٌHind.وَهِنْدٌAnd Hind.أَتَىcame.مِنْfromدُونِهَاbeyond it.النَّايُthe pipes.وَالبُعْدُAnd the distance.
Indeed, how nice is Hind and the land in it, and Hind came from beyond it with the pipes and the distance.
