وَإِنَّهُAnd Heيُنْعِمُbestows graceعَلَيْكَupon youوَيُنْعِمُand bestows graceعَلَىٰuponآلِthe familyيَعْقُوبَof Jacob.
And He bestows grace upon you and bestows grace upon the family of Jacob.
وَكَانَAnd he wasيَعْقُوبُJacobشَيْخًاan old manكَبِيرًا،great,وَكَانَand he wasيَعْرِفُknowingطَبَائِعَthe naturesالنَّاسِ.of people.
And Jacob was a great old man, and he knew the natures of people.
وَكَانَAnd he wasيَعْرِفُknowingكَيْفَhowيَغْلِبُovercomesالشَّيْطَانُ،Satan,وَكَيْفَand howيَلْعَبُplaysالشَّيْطَانُSatanبِالْإِنْسَانِ.with man.
And he knew how Satan overcomes, and how Satan plays with man.
فَقَالَ:So he said:يَاOوَلَدِي،my son,لَاdo notتُخْبِرْtellبِهَذِهِthisالرُّؤْيَاdreamأَحَدًاany oneمِنْofإِخْوَتِكَyour brothersفَإِنَّهُمْfor theyيَحْسُدُونَكَwill envy youوَيَكُونُونَand will beلَكَto youعَدُوًّا.an enemy.
So he said: O my son, do not tell this dream to any one of your brothers, for they will envy you and will be an enemy to you.

وَكَانَAnd hadيُوسُفُJosephلَهُfor himأَخٌa brotherآخَرُanotherمِنْfromأُمِّهِhis motherاسْمُهُnamedبِنْيَامِين،Benjamin,وَكَانَand wasيَعْقُوبُJacobيُحِبُّهُمَاloving themحُبًّاa loveشَدِيدًا،intense,وَكَانَand wasلَاnotيُحِبُّlovingمِثْلَهُمَاlike themأَحَدًا.anyone.
And Joseph had another brother from his mother named Benjamin, and Jacob loved them intensely, and he did not love anyone like them.
وَكَانَAnd wereالْإِخْوَةُthe brothersيَحْسُدُونَenvyingيُوسُفَJosephوَبِنْيَامِينَand Benjaminوَيَغْضَبُونَ،and getting angry,كَانُواthey wereيَقُولُونَ:saying:
And the brothers were envying Joseph and Benjamin and getting angry, they were saying:
لِمَاذَاWhyيُحِبُّdoes loveأَبُونَاour fatherيُوسُفَJosephوَبِنْيَامِينَand Benjaminأَكْثَرَ؟more?
Why does our father love Joseph and Benjamin more?
وَلِمَاذَاAnd whyيُحِبُّdoes loveأَبُونَاour fatherيُوسُفَJosephوَبِنْيَامِينَand Benjaminوَهُمَاwhile they areصَغِيرَانِsmallضَعِيفَانِ؟weak?
And why does our father love Joseph and Benjamin while they are small and weak?
لِمَاذَاWhyلَاnotيُحِبُّنَاdoes he love usمِثْلَlikeيُوسُفَJosephوَبِنْيَامِينَand Benjaminنَحْنُweشُبَّانٌare young menأَقْوِيَاءُ،strong,هَذَاthis isأَمْرٌa matter
Why does he not love us like Joseph and Benjamin? We are strong young men, this is a matter
