مُؤْمِنُThe believerآلِof the familyفِرْعَوْنَof Pharaoh.
The Believer of the Family of Pharaoh.
وَلَمَّاAnd whenأَرَادَintendedفِرْعَوْنُPharaohأَنْtoيَقْتُلَkillمُوسَىMoses,قَامَstood upرَجُلٌa manمِنْfromآلِthe familyفِرْعَوْنَof Pharaohيَكْتُمُconcealingإِيمَانَهُhis faithوَقَالَ:and said:
And when Pharaoh intended to kill Moses, a man from the family of Pharaoh stood up, concealing his faith, and said:
أَتَقْتُلُوْنَDo you killرَجُلًاa manأَنْthatيَقُوْلُhe saysرَبِّيَMy Lordاللهُis Allah,وَقَدْand indeedجَاءَكُمْhe has come to youبِالْبَيِّنَاتِwith clear proofsمِنْfromرَّبِّكُمْ؟your Lord?
Do you kill a man because he says, 'My Lord is Allah,' and indeed he has come to you with clear proofs from your Lord?
وَقَالَAnd saidالرَّجُلُthe manالرَّشِيدُthe wiseمِنْfromآلِthe familyفِرْعَوْنَof Pharaoh
And the wise man from the family of Pharaoh said:
لِمَاذَاWhyتَتَعَرَّضُوْنَdo you confrontلِمُوسَىMosesوَلِمَاذَاand whyتُؤْذُوْنَهُ؟do you harm him?
Why do you confront Moses and why do you harm him?
إِذَاIfلَمْnotتُؤْمِنُوْاyou believeبِهِin him,فَاتْرُكُوْهُthen leave himوَشَأْنَهُand his affairوَخَلُّواand let goسَبِيْلَهُ,his way,
If you do not believe in him, then leave him to his own affair and let go his way.
وَإِنْAnd ifيَّكُhe isكَاذِبًاa liar,فَعَلَيْهِthen upon himكَذِبُهُ.is his lie.
And if he is a liar, then upon him is his lie.
وَإِذَاAnd ifآذَيْتُمُوْهُyou harm himوَوَقَعْتُمْand you attackبِهِhimوَكَانَand he isنَبِيًّاa prophet,فَلَكُمُthen for youالْوَيْلُis woe
And if you harm him and attack him, and he is a prophet, then woe is yours.
وَإِنْAnd ifيَكُhe isصَادِقًاtruthful,يُصِبْكُمْwill strike youبَعْضُsomeالَّذِيof that whichيَعِدُكُمْ.he promises you.
And if he is truthful, some of that which he promises you will strike you.
وَيَاAnd Oإِخْوَانِي!my brothers!لَاdo notتَغْتَرُّواbe deceivedبِمُلْكِكُمْ,by your dominion,وَلَاand do notتَغْتَرُّواbe deceivedبِقُوَّتِكُمْby your strengthوَجُنُودِكُمْ.and your armies.
And O my brothers! Do not be deceived by your dominion, and do not be deceived by your strength and your armies.
يَقَوْمِO my people,لَكُمُto youالْمُلْكُis the dominionالْيَوْمَtoday,ظَاهِرِينَdominantفِيinالْأَرْضِthe land;فَمَنْbut whoيَنْصُرُنَاwill help usمِنْagainstبَأْسِthe punishmentاللَّهِof Allahإِنْifجَاءَنَا؟it comes to us?
O my people, to you is the dominion today, dominant in the land; but who will help us against the punishment of Allah if it comes to us?
وَكَانَAnd wasجَوَابُthe replyفِرْعَوْنَof Pharaohأَنْthatقَالَ:he said:
And the reply of Pharaoh was that he said:
مَاNothingأُرِيكُمْdo I show youإِلَّاexceptمَاwhatأَرَىI see,وَمَاand nothingأَهْدِيكُمْdo I guide youإِلَّاexceptسَبِيلَthe wayالرَّشَادِ.of right conduct.
I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the way of right conduct.
وَأَرَادَAnd intendedالرَّجُلُthe manالرَّشِيدُthe wiseأَنْtoيُحَذِّرَwarnقَوْمَهُhis peopleسُوءَof the evilالْعَاقِبَةِconsequenceوَمَصِيرَand the fateالظَّالِمِينَ.of the wrongdoers.
And the wise man intended to warn his people of the evil consequence and the fate of the wrongdoers.
