Henry stretched on the ground and began enjoying the gazes of others at him from time to time.

One of the soldiers said: "I bet that the army will never see a battalion like us ever!"

قَالَSaidآخَرُanotherمِنْwithoutدُونِanyشَكٍّdoubt."

Another said without any doubt: "Without a doubt!"

وَقَالَAnd saidثَالِثٌ:a third:«كُلَّمَا"Wheneverضَغَطُواthey pressuredعَلَيْنَا،us,أَخْرَجُواthey brought outأَفْضَلَthe bestمَاof whatلَدَيْنَا.we have."

And a third said: "Whenever they pressured us, they brought out the best of what we have."

قَالَSaidآخَرُanother,لَقَدْ"Indeed,فَقَدُواthey have lostرِجَالًاmenكَثِيرِينَmany."

Another said, "Indeed, they have lost many men."

رَدَّRepliedآخَرُanother:هَذَا"Thisصَحِيحٌis true,وَلَوْand ifعَادُواthey returnمَرَّةًonceأُخْرَىagain,لَفَقَدُواthey would loseالْمَزِيدَmore."

Another replied: "This is true, and if they return once again, they would lose more."

كَانَThereلَاwasيَزَالُstillهُنَاكَthereضَجِيجٌnoiseفِيinالْغَابَةِthe forest.

There was still noise in the forest.

وَمِنْAnd fromبَعِيدٍafarبَيْنَamongالْأَشْجَارِ،the trees,جَاءَcameصَوْتُthe soundقَعْقَعَةِof the rattlingإِطْلَاقِof gunfireالنِّيرَانِ.shots.

And from afar among the trees, came the sound of the rattling of gunfire shots.

تَصَاعَدَتْRoseغَيْمَةٌa cloudدَاكِنَةٌdarkمِنَofالدُّخَانِsmokeإِلَىtoالسَّمَاءِthe skyبِاتِّجَاهِtowardsالشَّمْسِthe sunالَّتِيthatكَانَتْwasتُشْرِقُshiningوَسْطَin the middle ofالسَّمَاءِthe skyالزَّرْقَاءِ.blue.

A dark cloud of smoke rose to the sky towards the sun that was shining in the middle of the blue sky.

There were a few minutes for the unorganized soldiers to rest, but the sounds of the battle in the forest grew louder and louder.

It seemed as if the trees were trembling and the earth was shaking from the rush of the men.

Henry's battalion listened to the sounds of the noise.

كَانَEveryoneالْجَمِيعُwasظِمَاءًthirsty,وَقَالَand saidويلسونWilsonإِنَّهُthat heسَمِعَhad heardعَنْaboutجَدْوَلِa streamمَاءٍof waterقَرِيبٍ،nearby,وَتَطَوَّعَand volunteeredلِلذَّهَابِto goوَإِحْضَارِand bringالْمَاءِ.the water.

Everyone was thirsty, and Wilson said that he had heard about a nearby stream of water, and volunteered to go and bring the water.

وَقَالَAnd saidآخَرُونَ:others:«وَ"Andنَحْنُweأَيْضًا.»too."

And others said: "And we too."

غَادَرَLeftهنريHenryوويلسونand Wilsonيَحْمِلَانِcarryingالْعَدِيدَmanyمِنَofالقِرَبِ،the waterskins,وظَلَّاand they continuedيَبْحَثَانِsearchingلبَعْضِfor someالْوَقْتِ،time,لَكِنْbutعِنْدَمَاwhenلَمْthey did notيَجِدَاfindجَدْوَلَthe streamالمَاءِ،of water,قَرَّرَاthey decidedالْعَوْدَةَ.to return.

Henry and Wilson left carrying many waterskins, and they continued searching for some time, but when they did not find the stream of water, they decided to return.

They could see many dark smoke clouds where the other battalions were fighting, and they could also see a part of a house behind the trees burning and smoke rising from it to the sky, and they saw their battalion.

The hill behind them was crowded with the retreating battalions.

نَظَرَLookedهنريHenryوandويلسونWilsonإِلَىatالْغَابَةِthe forestالْقَرِيبَةِnearbyمِنْهُمَاto themفَوَجَدَاand they foundجِنْرَالًاa generalوandمَعَهُwith himمُسَاعِدُوهhis assistantsيَمْتَطُونَridingجِيَادَهُمْ.their horses.

Henry and Wilson looked at the forest nearby and found a general with his assistants riding their horses.
