فَقَالَ:So he said:
So he said:
حَقَرْتَYou have belittledوَنَقَرْتَand pecked
You have belittled and pecked
(١)،(1),لَاdo notتَقْرَبْapproachشَيْئًاanythingمَسَّتْهُtouched itالنَّارُ.the fire.
(1), do not approach anything touched by the fire.
وَنَهَاهُAnd he forbade himأَنْthatيَبْنِيَhe buildsعِنْدَهُnear himمَسْجِدًاa mosque(٢).(2).
And he forbade him to build a mosque near him (2).
رَوَاهُNarrated itحَرْبٌHarbالْكِرْمَانِيُّ.Al-Kirmaani.
Narrated by Harb Al-Kirmaani.
وَالْأَحَادِيثُAnd the Hadeethsفِيinهَذَاthisكَثِيرَةٌ.are many.
And the Hadeeths concerning this are numerous.
وَقَدْAnd indeedنَهَىforbadeصَلَّىmayاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peaceعَنْfromتَشْرِيفِelevatingالْقُبُورِthe graves
And indeed, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he forbade elevating graves
وَالْبِنَاءِand buildingعَلَيْهَا،upon them,وَأَمَرَand he commandedبِتَسْوِيَتِهَاwith leveling them(٣).(3).
and building upon them, and commanded that they be leveled (3).
وَعَنْAnd fromعَلِيِّAliبْنِson ofأَبِيAbiطَالِبٍTalib
And from Ali bin Abi Talib
عَنْfromأَبِيAbiهَيَّاجٍHayyajالْأَسَدِيِّAl-Asadiقَالَ:he said:
from Abi Hayyaj Al-Asadi, he said:
قَالَsaidلِيto meعَلِيُّAliبْنُson ofأَبِيAbiطَالِبٍ:Talib:
Ali bin Abi Talib said to me:
أَلَاShall notأَبْعَثُكَI send youعَلَىuponمَاwhatبَعَثَنِيsent meعَلَيْهِupon itرَسُولُMessenger ofاللَّهِAllahصَلَّىmayاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ؟and grant him peace?
"Shall I not send you upon that which the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent me upon?
أَنْThatلَاnotأَدَعَI leaveقَبْرًاa graveمُشْرِفًاelevatedإِلَّاexceptسَوَّيْتُهُ،I leveled it,
That I do not leave an elevated grave except that I level it,
وَلَاand notتِمْثَالًاa statueإِلَّاexceptطَمَسْتُهُ.I obliterated it.
and no statue except that I obliterate it."
رَوَاهُNarrated itالْإِمَامُthe ImamأَحْمَدُAhmad(٤)،(4),وَمُسْلِمٌand Muslimفِيinصَحِيحِهِhis Saheeh(٥)،(5),وَغَيْرُهُمَا.and others besides them.
Narrated by Imam Ahmad (4), and Muslim in his Saheeh (5), and others.
وَفِيAnd inرِوَايَةٍa narrationلِأَحْمَدَfor Ahmad(٦)(6)عَنْfromعَلِيِّAliبْنِson ofأَبِيAbiطَالِبٍTalibقَالَ:he said:
And in a narration for Ahmad (6) from Ali bin Abi Talib, he said:
كَانَWasرَسُولُMessenger ofاللَّهِAllahصَلَّىmayاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peaceفِيatجِنَازَةٍa funeralفَقَالَ:so he said:
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was at a funeral, and he said:
«أَيُّكُمْ"Which of youيَنْطَلِقُwill set outإِلَىtoالْمَدِينَةِAl-Madinahفَلَاso he does notيَدَعْleaveبِهَاin itوَثَنًاan idolإِلَّاexceptكَسَرَهُ،he breaks it,
"Which of you will set out to Al-Madinah and not leave in it any idol except that he breaks it,
وَلَاand notقَبْرًاa graveإِلَّاexceptسَوَاهُ،he levels it,
and no grave except that he levels it,
وَلَاand notصُورَةًa pictureإِلَّاexcept
and no picture except
