he rushed upon him and stabbed him while saying:

"This one, in the gathering, does not invite me."

And it is also narrated: "In the haste, he does not invite me."

As if he bore a grudge against him because he used to invite the people of the assembly and leave him out.
وَالطَّعَامُAnd the foodالْمَذْمُومُblameworthyعِنْدَهُمْin their viewضَرْبَانِtwo kinds
And the blameworthy food in their view is of two kinds:
أَحَدُهُمَاone of themطَعَامُthe food ofالْمُجَاوِعِthe hungryوَالْحُطْمَاتِand the destituteوَالضَّرَائِكِand the needyوَالسَّبَارِيتِ2and the starvingوَاللِّئَامِand the stingyوَالْجُبَنَاءِand the cowardsوَالْفُقَرَاءِand the poorوَالضُّعَفَاءِand the weak
one of them is the food of the hungry, the destitute, the needy, the starving (footnote 2), the stingy, the cowards, the poor, and the weak.
مِنْfromذَلِكَthatالْفَثُّ3al-Fathth (a kind of food)وَالدُّعَاعُ4and al-Du'a' (a poor food)وَالْهَبِيدُ5and al-Habid (truffles)وَالْقَرَامَةُand al-Qarama (a coarse food)وَالْقَرَّةُand al-Qurra (a kind of herb)وَالْعُسُومُand al-'Usum (a plant)وَمُنْقَعُand soakedالْبَرَمِ6al-Baram (a plant)وَالْقَصِيدُand al-Qasid (crushed grain)وَالْقَدُّ7and al-Qadd (dried meat)وَالْحَيَّاتُand snakes
Examples of that include al-Fathth (3), al-Du'a' (4), al-Habid (5), al-Qarama, al-Qurra, al-'Usum, soaked al-Baram (6), al-Qasid, al-Qadd (7), and snakes.

But as for al-Fathth, although it is a disgusting drink, it does not fall into this category.
وَكَذَلِكَand likewiseالْمَجْدُوحُal-Majduh (a drink)
and likewise al-Majduh.
فَأَمَّاBut as forالْفَظُّal-Faththفَإِنَّهُthen itعُصَارَةُthe juiceالْفَرْثِof the stomach contentsإِذَاwhenأَصَابَهُمْafflicts themالْعَطَشُthirstفِيinالْمَفَاوِزِthe deserts
But as for al-Fathth, it is the juice of the stomach contents (of dead animals) when thirst afflicts them in the deserts.
وَأَمَّاAnd as forالْمَجْدُوحُal-Majduhفَإِنَّهُمْthen theyإِذَاwhenبَلَغَreachesالْعَطَشُthirstمِنْهُمْamong themالْمَجْهُودَthe extremeنَحَرُواthey slaughterالْإِبِلَthe camelsوَتَتَلَّقَوْاand they receiveأَلْبَابَهَاtheir (the camels') innardsبِالْجِفَانِwith large bowlsكَيْلَاso that notيَضِيعَis lostمِنْofدِمَائِهَاtheir bloodشَيْءٌanything
And as for al-Majduh, when thirst reaches its extreme among them, they slaughter camels and receive their innards in large bowls so that none of their blood is lost.
فَإِذَاAnd whenبَرَدَcooledالدَّمُthe bloodضَرَبُوهُthey beat itبِأَيْدِيهِمْwith their handsوَجَدَحُوهُ8and stirred itبِالْعِيدَانِwith sticksجَدْحًاstirringحَتَّىuntilيَنْقَطِعَit separates
And when the blood cools, they beat it with their hands and stir it (footnote 8) with sticks, stirring until it separates.

So its watery part separates from the heavy part, just as butter is purified by churning and cheese by rennet (footnote 9).

Then they drink that water (footnote 10) and sustain themselves with it until they come out of the desert.
