the Quranكَثِيرَةٌ.
are many.We say that which has been established with us is that the aspects of inimitability in the Quran are many.

of style:][The inimitability of style:]
مِنْهَا
Among themالْأُسْلُوبُ
is the styleالْمُعْجِزُ
inimitableالْبَدِيعُ،
and marvelous,Among them is the inimitable, marvelous style,
وَلَقَدْ
and indeedكَانَتْ
there wereلِلْعَرَبِ
for the Arabsعِدَّةُ
severalمَيَادِينَ
fieldsيَرْكُضُونَ
in which they runفِيهَا
in themجَوَادُ
the steedبَلَاقَتِهِمْ
of their eloquenceوَبَيَانِهِمْ،
and expression,and indeed the Arabs had several fields in which the steed of their eloquence and expression ran,
وَيَتَسَابَقُونَ
and they raceفِيهَا
in themمَعَ
withأَقْرَانِهِمْ
their peersوَهِيَ
and they areالْقَصَائِدُ،
the poems,وَالْخُطَبُ،
and the speeches,وَالرَّسَائِلُ
and the epistlesوَالْمُحَاوَرَاتُ،
and the dialogues,and they raced in them with their peers, and they are the poems, the speeches, the epistles, and the dialogues,
وَلَمْ
and they did notيَكُونُوا
knowيَعْرِفُونَ
other thanغَيْرَ
stylesأَسَالِيبِ
of theseهَذِهِ
fourالْأَصْنَافِ
categories,الْأَرْبَعَةِ،
and nor did theyand they did not know other than the styles of these four categories,
وَلَا
and norكَانَتْ
wasعِنْدَهُمْ
with themقُدْرَةٌ
abilityعَلَى
uponإِبْدَاعِ
inventingغَيْرِهَا
other than itمِنَ
fromالْأَسَالِيبِ،
the styles,nor did they have the ability to invent other styles besides them,
فَكَانَ
so wasإِبْدَاعُ
the inventionأُسْلُوبٍ
of a styleجَدِيدٍ
newيَخْتَلِفُ
differingعَنْ
fromأَسَالِيبِهِمْ
their stylesعَلَى
uponلِسَانِ
the tongueنَبِيٍّ
of a prophetأُمِّيٍّ
unlettered- عَلَيْهِ
- upon himأَفْضَلُ
the bestالصَّلَاةِ
of prayersوَالسَّلَامُ -
and peace -إِعْجَازاً
an inimitabilityقَائِماً
standingبِرَأْسِهِ.
on its own.so the creation of a new style differing from their styles upon the tongue of an unlettered Prophet - upon him be the best of prayers and peace - was an inimitability standing on its own.

a manner thatيُصَدِّقُ
confirmsالْكُتُبَ
the booksالسَّابِقَةَ
previousوَيُهَيْمِنُ
and dominatesعَلَيْهَا
over themمِنْ
withoutدُونِ
takingأَخْذٍ
from itعَنْهَا
and learningوَتَعَلُّمٍ
from it.And among these aspects was the Noble Quran's informing about past stories and the rulings of previous laws in a manner that confirms the previous books and dominates over them without taking from them or learning from them.
