هَذِهِthisالْآيَةُverseفِيis inتَضَاعِيفِthe folds ofالْقِصَصِthe laterالْمُتَأَخِّرَةِstories

This verse is in the folds of the later stories

وَقَدْandكَانَتْwasفَرْضِيَّةُthe obligation ofالزَّكَاةِZakatقَبْلَهَاbefore itبِأَعْوَامٍby years

and the obligation of Zakat was before it by years

فَمُرَادُso the intent ofابْنِIbnعُمَرَUmar- رَضِيَ- may Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهُمَا -them -

so the intent of Ibn Umar - may Allah be pleased with them -

هُوَisتَقَدُّمُthe advancement ofالْإِجْمَالِthe summaryرُتْبَةًin rank

is the advancement of the summary in rank

لَاnotنُزُولًاin revelationعَلَىoverالتَّفْصِيلِthe detail

not in revelation over the detail

الَّذِيwhichهُوَit isمُتَأَخِّرٌlaterرُتْبَةًin rank

which is later in rank

وَإِنْeven ifكَانَit wasمُتَقَدِّماًearlierنُزُولًاin revelation

even if it was earlier in revelation

وَبِالْجُمْلَةِand in shortفَإِنَّindeedشُرُوطَthe conditions ofالْمُفَسِّرِthe exegeteفِيinهَذَاthisالْبَابِchapterلَاdo notتَتَجَاوَزُexceedهَذَيْنِthese twoالْأَمْرَيْنِmatters

And in short, indeed the conditions of the exegete in this chapter do not exceed these two matters

أَوَّلُهُمَاthe first of them isقَصَصُthe stories ofالْغَزَوَاتِthe invasionsوَغَيْرُهَاand others

The first of them is the stories of the invasions and others

الَّتِيwhichتَرِدُoccurفِيهَاin itالْإِيمَاءَاتُthe allusionsإِلَىtoخُصُوصِيَّاتِthe specificities ofالْقَصَصِthe storiesوَالْأَحْدَاثِand events

in which allusions to the specificities of the stories and events occur

بِحَيْثُsuch thatلَاnotتُفْهَمُare understoodالْآيَاتُthe versesإِلَّاexceptفِيinضَوْءِlight ofالِاطِّلَاعِknowingعَلَيْهَاthem

such that the verses are not understood except in the light of knowing them

وَالثَّانِي:and the second:الِاطِّلَاعُknowingعَلَىofفَائِدَةِthe benefit ofبَعْضِsomeالْقُيُودِrestrictions

And the second: knowing the benefit of some restrictions

وَأَسْبَابِand the reasons forالتَّشْدِيدِstrictnessوَالتَّأْكِيدِand emphasisفِيinبَعْضِsomeالْمَوَاضِعِplaces

and the reasons for strictness and emphasis in some places

الَّتِيwhichتَتَوَقَّفُdependsمَعْرِفَةُthe knowledge ofحَقِيقَتِهَاits realityعَلَىuponمَعْرِفَةِthe knowledge ofأَسْبَابِthe reasons forالنُّزُولِrevelation

whose knowledge of reality depends upon knowing the reasons for revelation

وَهَذَاand thisالْمَبْحَثُtopicالْأَخِيرُthe lastهُوَisفِيinالْأَصْلِoriginفَنٌّan artمِنْfromفُنُونِthe arts ofالتَّوْجِيهِguidance

And this last topic is originally an art from the arts of guidance

فَنُّthe art ofالتَّوْجِيهِ:guidance:

The Art of Guidance:

وَيُرَادُand it is meantبِالتَّوْجِيهِby guidanceبَيَانُthe clarification ofوَجْهِthe aspect ofالْكَلَامِspeechوَمَعْنَاهُand its meaning

And guidance means the clarification of the aspect of speech and its meaning

وَحَاصِلُand the summary ofهَذِهِthisالْكَلِمَةِwordأَنَّهُ:is that:

And the summary of this word is that:

  • قَدْsometimesتَقَعُthere occursأَحْيَانًاat timesفِيinالْآيَةِthe verseشُبْهَةٌan apparentظَاهِرَةٌsuspicion
  • An apparent suspicion sometimes occurs in the verse

  • لِاسْتِبْعَادِdue to the improbability ofتِلْكَthatالصُّورَةِformالَّتِيwhichتَدُلُّpointsعَلَيْهَاto itالْآيَةُthe verse
  • due to the improbability of that form which the verse points to
