الْإِنْسَانُ

The human

يَوْمَ

on the day

الْحَشْرِ

of gathering

عَلَى

upon

وَجْهِهِ،

his face,

Man on the Day of Gathering will be upon his face,

قَالَ

he said

- صَلَّى

- peace

اللَّهُ

be

عَلَيْهِ

upon him

وَسَلَّمَ -:

and blessings -:

he - peace and blessings be upon him - said:

"إِنَّ
"Indeed
الَّذِي
He who
أَمْشَاهُ
made him walk
فِي
in
الدُّنْيَا
the worldly life
عَلَى
on
رِجْلَيْهِ
his two legs

"Indeed, He who made him walk in this world on his two legs

لَقَادِرٌ
is surely able
أَنْ
to
يُمْشِيَهُ
make him walk
عَلَى
on
وَجْهِهِ".
his face."

is surely able to make him walk on his face."

- وَهَكَذَا

- And thus

لَمَّا

when

سَأَلُوا

they asked

ابْنَ

Ibn

عَبَّاسٍ

Abbas

- رَضِيَ

- may Allah be pleased

اللَّهُ

with

عَنْهُمَا -

them both -

- And thus when they asked Ibn Abbas - may Allah be pleased with them both -

عَنِ

about

الْآيَةِ

the verse

الَّتِي

in which

يَقُولُ

says

اللَّهُ

Allah

- تَعَالَى -

- the Exalted -

فِيهَا:

in it:

about the verse in which Allah - the Exalted - says:

{لَا
{They will not
تُسْأَلُونَ}
be questioned}

{They will not be questioned}

وَعَنِ

And about

الْآيَةِ

the verse

الَّتِي

in which

يَقُولُ

says

اللَّهُ

Allah

- تَعَالَى -

- the Exalted -

فِيهَا:

in it:

and about the verse in which Allah - the Exalted - says:

{وَأَقْبَلَ
{And they will approach
بَعْضُهُمْ
one another
عَلَى
to
بَعْضٍ
one another
يَتَسَاءَلُونَ}
questioning each other}
الْآيَةُ.
the verse.

{And they will approach one another questioning each other} the verse.

كَيْفَ

How

يُمْكِنُ

is it possible

التَّطْبِيقُ

to reconcile

بَيْنَ

between

الْآيَتَيْنِ؟

the two verses?

How can one reconcile between the two verses?

قَالَ:

He said:

عَدَمُ

The absence of

التَّسَاؤُلِ

questioning

فِي

is in

يَوْمِ

the Day

الْحَشْرِ

of Gathering

وَالتَّسَاؤُلُ

and questioning

بَعْدَ

after

الدُّخُولِ

entering

فِي

into

الْجَنَّةِ.

Paradise.

He said: The absence of questioning is on the Day of Gathering, and questioning is after entering Paradise.

- وَسَأَلُوا

- And they asked

عَائِشَةَ

Aisha

- رَضِيَ

- may Allah be pleased

اللَّهُ

with

عَنْهَا -:

her -:

- And they asked Aisha - may Allah be pleased with her -:

إِذَا

If

كَانَ

was

السَّعْيُ

the Sa'i

بَيْنَ

between

الصَّفَا

Al-Safa

وَالْمَرْوَةِ

and Al-Marwah

وَاجِبًا

obligatory

If the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah was obligatory,

فَلِمَذَا

then why

قَالَ

did say

اللَّهُ

Allah

- تَعَالَى -:

- the Exalted -:

then why did Allah - the Exalted - say:

{فَلَا
{Then there is no
جُنَاحَ
blame
عَلَيْهِ
upon him
أَنْ
to
يَطَّوَّفَ
perform Tawaf
بِهِمَا}
between them}
الْآيَةُ.
the verse.

{Then there is no blame upon him to perform Tawaf between them} the verse.

قَالَتْ

She said

- رَضِيَ

- may Allah be pleased

اللَّهُ

with

عَنْهَا -

her -

She - may Allah be pleased with her - said:

كَانَ

used to

النَّاسُ

the people

يَتَجَنَّبُونَ

avoid

ذَلِكَ

that

وَيَتَحَرَّجُونَ

and feel hesitant

مِنْهُ

about it

The people used to avoid that and feel hesitant about it,

فَلِذَلِكَ

and therefore

قِيلَ:

it was said:

{لَا

{There is no

blame}.

and therefore it was said: {There is no blame}.

- وَسَأَلَ

- And asked

him -

- And Umar bin Al-Khattab - may Allah be pleased with him -

رَسُولَ

the Messenger of

اللَّهِ

Allah

asked the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him -

مَا

what
