الْإِنْسَانُThe humanيَوْمَon the dayالْحَشْرِof gatheringعَلَىuponوَجْهِهِ،his face,
Man on the Day of Gathering will be upon his face,
قَالَhe said- صَلَّى- peaceاللَّهُbeعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ -:and blessings -:
he - peace and blessings be upon him - said:
"إِنَّ"IndeedالَّذِيHe whoأَمْشَاهُmade him walkفِيinالدُّنْيَاthe worldly lifeعَلَىonرِجْلَيْهِhis two legs
"Indeed, He who made him walk in this world on his two legs
لَقَادِرٌis surely ableأَنْtoيُمْشِيَهُmake him walkعَلَىonوَجْهِهِ".his face."
is surely able to make him walk on his face."
- وَهَكَذَا- And thusلَمَّاwhenسَأَلُواthey askedابْنَIbnعَبَّاسٍAbbas- رَضِيَ- may Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهُمَا -them both -
- And thus when they asked Ibn Abbas - may Allah be pleased with them both -
عَنِaboutالْآيَةِthe verseالَّتِيin whichيَقُولُsaysاللَّهُAllah- تَعَالَى -- the Exalted -فِيهَا:in it:
about the verse in which Allah - the Exalted - says:
{لَا{They will notتُسْأَلُونَ}be questioned}
{They will not be questioned}
وَعَنِAnd aboutالْآيَةِthe verseالَّتِيin whichيَقُولُsaysاللَّهُAllah- تَعَالَى -- the Exalted -فِيهَا:in it:
and about the verse in which Allah - the Exalted - says:
{وَأَقْبَلَ{And they will approachبَعْضُهُمْone anotherعَلَىtoبَعْضٍone anotherيَتَسَاءَلُونَ}questioning each other}الْآيَةُ.the verse.
{And they will approach one another questioning each other} the verse.
كَيْفَHowيُمْكِنُis it possibleالتَّطْبِيقُto reconcileبَيْنَbetweenالْآيَتَيْنِ؟the two verses?
How can one reconcile between the two verses?
قَالَ:He said:عَدَمُThe absence ofالتَّسَاؤُلِquestioningفِيis inيَوْمِthe Dayالْحَشْرِof Gatheringوَالتَّسَاؤُلُand questioningبَعْدَafterالدُّخُولِenteringفِيintoالْجَنَّةِ.Paradise.
He said: The absence of questioning is on the Day of Gathering, and questioning is after entering Paradise.
- وَسَأَلُوا- And they askedعَائِشَةَAisha- رَضِيَ- may Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهَا -:her -:
- And they asked Aisha - may Allah be pleased with her -:
إِذَاIfكَانَwasالسَّعْيُthe Sa'iبَيْنَbetweenالصَّفَاAl-Safaوَالْمَرْوَةِand Al-Marwahوَاجِبًاobligatory
If the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah was obligatory,
فَلِمَذَاthen whyقَالَdid sayاللَّهُAllah- تَعَالَى -:- the Exalted -:
then why did Allah - the Exalted - say:
{فَلَا{Then there is noجُنَاحَblameعَلَيْهِupon himأَنْtoيَطَّوَّفَperform Tawafبِهِمَا}between them}الْآيَةُ.the verse.
{Then there is no blame upon him to perform Tawaf between them} the verse.
قَالَتْShe said- رَضِيَ- may Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهَا -her -
She - may Allah be pleased with her - said:
كَانَused toالنَّاسُthe peopleيَتَجَنَّبُونَavoidذَلِكَthatوَيَتَحَرَّجُونَand feel hesitantمِنْهُabout it
The people used to avoid that and feel hesitant about it,
فَلِذَلِكَand thereforeقِيلَ:it was said:{لَا{There is noجُنَاحَ}.blame}.
and therefore it was said: {There is no blame}.
- وَسَأَلَ- And askedعُمَرُUmarبْنُson ofالْخَطَّابِAl-Khattab- رَضِيَ- may Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهُ -him -
- And Umar bin Al-Khattab - may Allah be pleased with him -
رَسُولَthe Messenger ofاللَّهِAllah- صَلَّى- peaceاللَّهُbeعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ -and blessings -
asked the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him -
مَاwhatمَعْنَىis the meaning ofقَيْدِthe restriction{إِنْ{Ifخِفْتُمْ}you fear}فِيinقَوْلِthe statement ofاللَّهِAllah- تَعَالَى -:- the Exalted -:
