The animals exerted great effort throughout the year like slaves, but they were happy with their work.

Therefore, they did not regret neither for pain nor for sacrifice, for they know that every pain they dedicated themselves to will reap its fruits, as will the generations to come, and not a lazy gang of humans who harvest the fruits of others' efforts.

And in the month of August, Napoleon informed the animals that they must work after noon on Sunday as well. And he requested from them to add this effort voluntarily, except that every animal that exempts itself from that work will have its share of food lowered to half.

And there are two fields that must be planted with roots at the beginning of the summer, and their exemption was in order to relieve them from until the completion of the ploughing at the set time for this. It is possible to face a harsh winter.
