The proposed construction of the windmill posed unexpected difficulties.
فَعَلَىSo onأَرْضٍthe groundالْمَزْرَعَةِthe farmيُوجَدُthere isمَقْلَعٌquarryحِجَارَةٌstones,,وَفِيAnd inأَحَدِoneالمَسْتَوْدَعَاتِof the warehousesأيضًاalsoيُوجَدُthere isالرَّمْلُsandوandالإسْمِنْتُcementبُوفْرَةًin abundance,,وَالْمُعَدَّاتُand equipmentمَتَوَفِّرَةٌavailableقُرْبَnearمَكَانِthe placeالْعَمَلِof work,,إِلَّاexceptأَنْthatالْحَيَوَانَاتُthe animalsاصْطَدَمَتْcollidedفِيwithالْبِدَايَةِthe beginningبِمَشْكَلَةٍwith a problemلَاnot,,قَطْعِcuttingالْحِجَارَةِthe stonesإِلَىintoقِطَعٍpiecesقَابِلَةٍusableلِلِاِسْتِعْمَالِfor use
So on the ground of the farm there is a stone quarry, and in one of the warehouses, there is also sand and cement in abundance, and the equipment is available near the place of work, except that the animals initially collided with a problem of not being able to cut the stones into usable pieces.
كَيْفَHowسَتُوَاجِهُwill you faceذَٰلِكَthat
How will you face that?
يُوجَدُThere isحَلٌّa solutionآخَرُanotherعَلَىapparentlyمَاwhatيَظْهَرُseems,,إِلَّاexceptبِمُسَاعَدَةِwith the help ofالرَّافِعَةِthe craneوandالْمِعَوَّلِthe pickaxe
Apparently, there is another solution, except with the help of the crane and the pickaxe.
وَمَاAnd whatيَتَجَاوَزُgoes beyondالْحَيَوَانَاتُthe animals,,هُوَisأَنْthatلَاnotأَحَدٌanyoneيَسْتَطِيعُcanالْبَقَاءَstayingوَاقِفًاstandingلِمُدَّةٍfor a duration ofطَوِيلَةٍlongعَلَىonقَائِمَتَيْهِits hind legsالْخَلْفِيَتَيْنِthe two
And what goes beyond the animals is that no one can stay standing for a long time on its hind legs.
مَرَّتْSeveralعِدَّةٌweeksأَسَابِيعَhave passedبَذَلَتْduring whichفِيهَاthe animals madeجُهْدًاa great effortكَبِيرًاfor nothingمِنْwithoutدُونَnoticeنَتِيجَةٍduring the timeتَذَكُّرٌbefore,,قَبْلَthatأَنْone of themتَخْطُرُthoughtعَلَىto mindبَالٍthe correct ideaالْفِكْرَةِto benefit fromالصَّائِبَةِthe law of gravity
Several weeks have passed during which the animals made great effort for nothing, before one of them thought of the correct idea: to benefit from the law of gravity.
وَوُضِعَتْThey placedعَلَىonسَفْحِthe slopeالْمَقْلَعِof the quarryكُتَلًاlarge blocksضَخْمَةٍhuge,,أَكْبَرَmuch largerبِكَثِيرٍthanمِمَّاwhatيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey canاَسْتَعْمَالُهَاuse them as isكَمَاas they areهُمْThey surrounded
They placed large blocks, much larger than they could use as they are, on the slope of the quarry.
أَحَاطَتْهَاThey surrounded themالْحَيَوَانَاتُthe animalsبِالْحِبَالِwith ropes,,ثُمَّthenأَسْهَمَeveryone contributedالْجَمِيعُeveryoneبِالْبَقَرِwith cows,,الْخَيْلِhorses,,الْخِرَافِsheep,,وَكُلُّand allمَنْwhoيَسْتَطِيعُcanأَنْtoيُمْسِكَholdحَبْلًاa rope(حَتَّى(evenالْخَنَازِيرُthe pigsسَخَّرَتْusedأَكْدَامَهَاtheir strong feetالْقَوِيَةِstrongفِيatهَذِهِthisاللَّحْظَةِmomentالْعَصِيبَةِdifficult
The animals surrounded them with ropes, and then everyone contributed with cows, horses, sheep, and all who could hold a rope (even the pigs used their strong feet at this difficult moment) to lift those stone blocks slowly to the top of the quarry.
وَمِنْAnd from thereهُنَاكَthereتَتِمُّit can be doneدَحْرَجَتُهَاits rolling downفَتَصْطَدِمُand it collidesبِالْأَرْضِwith the groundوَتَحْطِمُand breaksإِلَىintoقِطَعٍpiecesصَغِيرَةٍsmall
And from there, it can be done to roll it down so that it collides with the ground and breaks into small pieces.
وَعِندَمَاAnd whenتَنْكِسِرُthey breakتِلْكَthoseالأحْجَارُstones,,يُصْبِحُit becomesنَقْلُهَاeasy to carryسَهْلًاeasyكَانَتْthey wereالْخَيْلُthe horsesتَنْقُلُهَاcarried itعَلَىwithعَرَبَاتٍcartsبِعَجَلَتَيْنِwith two wheels,,وَتَجْرُand pulledالْخِرَافُthe sheepكُلُّهَاall of themحَجَرًاa stoneواحِدًاone..وَالشَّيْءُAnd the sameالَّذِيwhatبِالنِّسْبَةِforإِلَىtoمُورِيِلَMuriel>>الْعَنْزَةُthe goatوَبِنْيَامِينُand Benjamin::فَقَدْtheyكَانُواwereمَرْبُوطِينَtiedإِلَىtoعَرَبَةٍa cartقَدِيمَةٍoldمِنْwithoutدُونَspendingادِّخَارٍany effortأَيِّtheyجُهْدٍeffortوَمَعَAnd withنِهَايَةِthe endالصَّيْفِof summerتَوَفَّرَتْthere wasكَمِّيَّةٌa large amountكَبِيرَةٌlargeمِنْofالأَحْجَارِstonesلِبِنَاءِfor buildingالطَّاحُونَةِthe millتَحْتَunderإِشْرَافِsupervisionالْخَنَازِيرِthe pigs
And when the stones break, it becomes easy to carry them; the horses carried it on two-wheeled carts, and the sheep all pulled one stone. And the same goes for Muriel the goat and Benjamin: they were tied to an old cart without spending any effort, and by the end of summer, there was a large amount of stones available for building the mill under the supervision of the pigs.
