فََالْعَامَّةُSo the general::هِيَisالَّتِيthatتَكُونُisلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَfor the believersوَغَيْرُand nonالْمُؤْمِنِينَbelievers
So the general is that which is for believers and non-believers.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this؛;لَوْifسَأَلْنَاwe were to askسَائِلًa questioner::هَلْIsلِلَّهِto Godعَلَىuponالْكَافِرِthe disbelieverنِعْمَةً؟blessing?
And for this, if we were to ask a questioner: Is there a blessing from God upon the disbeliever?
قُلْنَاWe would say::نَعَمْYes؛;لَكِنَّهَاbut itنِعْمَةٌis a blessingعَامَّةٌgeneralوَهِيَand it isنِعْمَةٌblessingمَاwhatتَقُومُsustainsبِهَاwith itالْأَبْدَانِthe bodies
We would say: Yes; but it is a general blessing and it is a blessing that sustains the bodies.
لَاNotمَاwhatتَصْلُحُis suitableبِهَاwith itالأَدْيَانِthe religions;مِثْلَlikeالطَّعَامِthe foodوَالشَّرَابِand drinkوَالْكِسْوَةِand clothingوَالْمَسْكَنِand shelterوَمَاand whatأَشْبَهَresemblesذَٰلِكَthat;؛;فَهَذِهِso thisيَدْخُلُentersفِيهَاin itالْمُؤْمِنُthe believerوَالْكَافِرُ.and the disbeliever.
Not what is suitable by it for the religions; like food, drink, clothing, and shelter, and what resembles that; so this includes the believer and the disbeliever.
وَالْنِّعْمَةُAnd the blessingالْخَاصَّةُthe specificمَاwhatتَصْلُحُsuitableبِهَاwith itالأَدْيَانِthe religionsمِنَofالإِيمَانِfaithوَالْعِلْمِand knowledgeوَالْعَمَلِand righteous deeds;الصَّالِحِthe righteous;فَهَذِهِso thisخَاصَّةٌis specificبِالْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believers;
And the specific blessing is what is suitable for the religions from faith, knowledge, and righteous deeds; so this is specific to the believers.
وَهِيَAnd itعَامَّةٌis generalلِلْأَنْبِيَاءِfor the prophets;وَالصَّدِيقِينَand the truthful;؛;كَالشُّهَدَاءِlike the martyrs;وَالصَّالِحِينَ.and the righteous.
And it is general for the prophets and the truthful; like the martyrs and the righteous.
وَلَكِنَّButنِعْمَةُthe blessingاللَّهِof Godعَلَىuponالْأَنْبِيَاءِthe prophetsوَالرُّسُلِand the messengersنِعْمَةٌblessingهِيَisأَخَصُّmost specificالنِّعَمِ،of the blessings,وَاسْتَمِعْand listenإِلَىtoقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَى:the Exalted:﴿﴿وَأَنْزَلَand He revealedاللَّهُGodعَلَيْكَupon youالْكِتَابَthe Bookوَالْحِكْمَةَand Wisdomوَعَلَّمَكَand taught youمَاwhatلَمْhas notتَكُنْhad beenتَعْلَمْyou knowوَكَانَand wasفَضْلُfavorاللَّهِof Godعَلَيْكَupon youعَظِيمًا)greatly)[النِّسَاءِ:[An-Nisa:١١٣]؛113];
But the blessing of God upon the prophets and the messengers is the most specific of the blessings, and listen to His saying, the Exalted: "And Allah revealed to you the Book and Wisdom and taught you what you had not known, and the favor of Allah upon you is great." [An-Nisa: 113];
فَهَذِهِSo thisالنِّعْمَةُblessingالَّتِيthatهِيَisأَخَصُّmost specific,لَاdoes notيَلْحَقُcome near toالْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersفِيهَاin it,النَّبِيِّينَ،to the prophets,بَلْbutهُمْtheyدُونَهُمْ.are beneath them.
So this blessing that is most specific cannot be approached by the believers in it, but they are beneath them.
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His saying::«صِرَاطَ"The pathالَّذِينَof those whoأَنْعَمَhave been blessedاللَّهُby Allahعَلَيْهِم"upon them"::هِيَisكَقَوْلِهِas His sayingتَعَالَىthe Exalted::اهْدِنَاGuide usالصِّرَاطَto the pathالْمُسْتَقِيمَthe straight**صِرَاطَthe pathالَّذِينَof those whoأَنْعَمْتَhave bestowedعَلَيْهِمْupon them"
And His saying: "The path of those whom Allah has blessed upon them" is like His saying the Exalted: "Guide us to the straight path – the path of those whom You have bestowed upon them."
فَمَنْSo whoهُمْare theyالَّذِينَthose whoأَنْعَمَhave been blessedاللَّهُby Allahعَلَيْهِم؟upon them?
So who are those whom Allah has bestowed upon them?
فَسَّرَهَاHe explained itتَعَالَىthe Exaltedبِقَوْلِهِ:by His saying:﴿﴿وَمَنAnd whoeverيُطِعِobeysاللَّهَAllahوَالرَّسُولَand the Messengerفَأُوْلَـٰئِكَthen they areمَعَwithالَّذِينَthose whoأَنْعَمَhave been blessedاللَّهُby Allahعَلَيْهِمْupon them::مِنَfromالنَّبِيّينَthe prophetsوandالصِّدِّيقِينَthe truthful;وandالشُّهَدَاءِmartyrs;وandالصَّالِحِينَthe righteous;
He explained it the Exalted by His saying: "And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger, then they are with those whom Allah has blessed from the prophets and the truthful and the martyrs, and the righteous."
فَهَؤُلَاءِSo theseأَرْبَعَةٌfourأَصْنَافٌtypes;
So these are four types;
