وَالشَّرْعِيُّ،And the legal,فَاللَّهُSo Godعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Exalted and Almighty,حَكِيمٌis Wiseبِالْحُكْمِwith the rulingsالْكَوْنِيِّcosmicوَبِالْحُكْمِand with the rulingsالشَّرْعِيِّ،the legal,وَهُوَand He isأَيْضًاalsoمُحْكَمٌthe Perfectلَهُمَا،for both,فَكُلُّso everyمِنَofالْحَكْمَيْنِthe two rulingsمُوَافِقٌis in agreementلِلْحِكْمَةِ.with wisdom.

And the legal, God, the Exalted and Almighty, is Wise with the cosmic and the legal rulings, and He is also the Perfect for both, so every of the two rulings is in agreement with wisdom.

لَكِنَّButمِنَofالْحِكْمَةِwisdomمَاwhatنَعْلَمُهُ،we know,وَمِنْand fromالْحِكْمَةِwisdomمَاwhatلَاnotنَعْلَمُهُ؛we know;لِأَنَّbecauseاللَّهَGodتَعَالَىthe Most High says:﴿وَمَا﴿And whatأُوتِيتُمْyou have been givenمِّنَofالْعِلْمِknowledgeإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًا)a little."

But of wisdom, what we know, and from the wisdom, what we do not know; because God, the Most High says: "And what you have been given of knowledge is except a little."

ثُمَّThenالْحِكْمَةُwisdomنَوْعَانِis of two types:

Then, wisdom is of two types:

الأَوَّلُThe firstحِكْمَةٌis wisdomفِيinكَوْنِthe existence ofالشَّيْءِthe thing beingعَلَىasكَيْفِيَّتِهِits natureوَحَالِهِand its stateالَّتِيwhichهُوَit isعَلَيْهَا؛upon it;كَحَالِlike the stateالصَّلَاةِ؛of prayer;فَهِيَfor it isعِبَادَةٌa worshipكَبِيرَةٌgreatتُشْبِهُwhich requiresبِطَهَارَةٍpurityمِنَfromالْحَدَثِimpurityوَالْخَبَثِ،and filth,وَتُؤَدَّىand is performedعَلَىin aهَيْئَةٍspecific mannerمُعَيَّنَةٍcertainمِنْofقِيَامٍstanding,وَقُعُودٍsitting,وَرُكُوعٍbowingوَسُجُودٍ،and prostration,وَكَكَالزَّكَاةِ؛and like zakat;فَهِيَfor it isعِبَادَةٌa worshipلِلَّهِ تَعَالَىfor Allah the Exaltedبِأَدَاءِby performingجُزْءٍa shareمِنَofالْمَالِthe wealthالنَّامِيthat growsغَالِبًاmostlyلِمَنْfor thoseهُمْwho areفِيinحَاجَةٍneed;إِلَيْهَا ؛to it;أوorفِيinالْمُسْلِمِينَthe Muslims'حَاجَةٍneedإِلَيْهِمto themكَبَعْضِlike someالْمُؤَلَّفَةِwhose hearts areقُلُوبِهِمَ .reconciled.

The first is wisdom in the existence of the thing as its nature and state is upon it; like the state of prayer; for it is a great act of worship which requires purity from both impurity and filth, and is performed in a specific manner of standing, sitting, bowing and prostration, and like zakat; for it is a worship for Allah the Exalted by performing a share of the growing wealth mostly for those who are in need; or in the Muslims' need to them like some whose hearts are reconciled.

وَالنَّوْعُAnd the second type:الثَّانِيthe secondحِكْمَةٌis wisdomفِيinالْغَايَةِthe purposeمِنَofالْحُكْمِ؛the ruling;

And the second type: wisdom in the purpose of the ruling;

حَيْثُwhereإِنَّindeed,جَمِيعَallأَحْكَامُrulingsاللَّهِ تَعَالَىof Allah the Exaltedلَهَاhaveغَايَاتٌgoalsحَمِيدَةٌnobleوَثَمَرَاتٌand fruitsجَلِيلَةٌ .great.

where indeed, all the rulings of Allah the Exalted have noble goals and great fruits.

فَانظُرْSo look atإِلَىtoحِكْمَةِthe wisdomاللَّهِof GodفِيinحُكْمِهِHis rulings;الْكَوْنِيِّ؛cosmic;حَيْثُwhereيُصِيبُafflictsالنَّاسَthe peopleبِالْمَصَائِبِwith calamitiesالْعَظِيمَةِgreat;لِغَايَاتٍfor nobleحَمِيدَةٍ؛purposes;كَكَوْلِهِas His saying:تَعَالَى :the Exalted:﴿ظَهَرَ﴿Corruption has appearedالْفَسَادُin corruptionفِيonالْبَرِّthe landوَالْبَحْرِand the seaبِمَاby whatكَسَبَتْhas earnedأَيْدِيthe handsالنَّاسِ؛of the people;لِيُذِيقَهُمْto make them tasteبَعْضَsomeمِمَّاof whatعَمِلُواthey earnedلَعَلَّهُمْthat perhaps theyيَرْجِعُونَ)may return."

So look at the wisdom of God in His cosmic rulings; where it afflicts the people with great calamities for noble purposes; as His saying: "Corruption has appeared on the land and in the sea by what the hands of the people have earned; to make them taste some of what they have earned, that perhaps they may return."

[الرُّومَ:[Ar-Rum:٤١]،41],فَفِيهَاSo in itرَدٌّis a replyلِقَوْلِto the sayingمِنْof the one whoيَقُولُ :says:إِنَّIndeed,أَحْكَامُthe rulingsاللَّهِ تَعَالَىof Allah the Exaltedلَيْسَتْare notلِحِكْمَةٍ،for wisdom,بَلْ هِيَrather, they areلِلْمَجَرَّدِmerelyمَشِيئَتِهِ .His will.

So in it is a reply to the saying of the one who says: Indeed, the rulings of Allah the Exalted are not for wisdom, rather, they are merely for His will.

وَفِيهَاAnd in itهَذِهِthisالْآيَةُverseمِنْofأَسْمَاءِthe namesاللَّهِof God,الْعَلِيمِ،the All-Knowing,وَالْحَكِيمِ.and the Wise. The.وَمِنْAnd ofصِفَاتِهِHis attributes:الْعِلْمِknowledgeوَالْحِكْمَةِ.and wisdom.

And in it is this verse of the names of God, the All-Knowing, and the Wise. And of His attributes: knowledge and wisdom.
