وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd likewiseمَاwhatوُرِدَwas mentionedفِيinحَدِيثِthe hadithإِبْنِof IbnعُمَرَUmarكَيْفَhowيَحْكِيit narratesرَسُولُthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allah
And likewise what was mentioned in the hadith of Ibn Umar, how the Messenger of Allah narrates.
قَالَHe said:«“يَأْخُذُHe takesاللَّهُAllahعَزَّMightyوَجَلَّand MajesticسَمَاوَاتِهِHis heavensوَأَرْضَهِand His earthبِيدَيْهِin His hands,فَيَقُولُand He says:أَنَاI amاللَّهُAllah»”؛وَيَقْبِضُAnd He clenchesأَصَابِعَهُHis fingersوَيَبْسُطُهَاand opens them(۱)(1)
He said: “Allah, Mighty and Majestic, takes His heavens and His earth in His hands, and He says: I am Allah.” And He clenches His fingers and opens them (1).
فِيُقَالُIt is saidفِيهِin itمَاwhatقِيلَhas been saidفِيinحَدِيثِthe hadithأَبِيof AbuهُرَيْرَةَHuraira
It is said in it what has been said in the hadith of Abu Huraira.
وَالفَائِدَةُAnd the benefitالمَسْلَكِيَّةُpracticalمِنْofالإِيمَانِfaithبِصِفَتِيin the attribute ofالسَّمْعِhearingوَالْبَصَرِand sight:أَنَّis thatنَحْذَرَwe bewareمُخَالَفَةَagainst disobedienceاللَّهِAllahفِيinأَقْوَالِنَاour statementsوَأَفْعَالِنَاand our actions
And the practical benefit of faith in the attributes of hearing and sight is that we beware of disobeying Allah in our statements and actions.
وَفِيAnd inالْآيَةِthe verseمِنْofأَسْمَاءِNamesاللَّهِAllahإِثْبَاتِthe establishmentاسْمَيْنِof two namesهُمَاwhich are:السَّمِيعُthe All-Hearing,وَالْبَصِيرُand the All-SeeingوَمِنَAnd fromالصِّفَاتِthe attributesإِثْبَاتِthe establishmentالسَّمْعِof hearingوَالْبَصَرِand sight,وَالْأَمْرِand the command,وَالْمَوْعِظَةِand the admonition
And in the verse, of the Names of Allah, is the establishment of two names which are: the All-Hearing and the All-Seeing. And from the attributes is the establishment of hearing and sight, the command, and the admonition.
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His saying:﴿[وَلَوْلَاAnd if it were not forإِذْwhenدَخَلْتَyou had enteredجَنَّتَكَyour garden,قُلْتَyou saidمَاwhatشَاءَwilledاللَّهُAllahلَاNoقُوَّةَpowerإِلَّاexceptبِاللَّهِby Allah[[الكَهْفِ:Al-Kahf:٣٩39]
And His saying: "And if it were not for when you entered your garden, you had said what Allah willed; there is no power except by Allah" [Al-Kahf: 39].
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His saying:﴿[وَلَوْAnd ifشَاءَwilledاللَّهُAllahمَاnotأَقْتَتَلُواthey would have foughtوَلَكِنَّbutاللَّهَAllahيَفْعَلُdoes whatمَاwhatيُرِيدُHe wills
And His saying: "And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought, but Allah does what He wills" [Al-Baqarah: 251].
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His saying:((أُحِلَّتْIt has been made lawfulلَكُمfor youبَهِيمَةُthe beastالأَنْعَامِof the grazing livestockإِلَّاexceptمَاwhatيُتْلَىis recitedعَلَيْكُمْto youغَيْرَnotمُحِلِّيmaking lawfulالصَّيْدِsome gameوَأَنْتُمْand youحُرُمٌare in the state of ihramإِنَّIndeedاللَّهَAllahيَحْكُمُrulesمَاwhatيُرِيدُHe wills[[المَائِدَةِAl-Ma'idah:١1]
And His saying: "It has been made lawful for you the beast of the grazing livestock except what is recited to you; not making lawful some game while you are in the state of ihram; indeed Allah rules what He wills" [Al-Ma'idah: 1].
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His saying:فَمَنSo whoeverيُرِدِwantsاللَّهُAllahأَنْto guide himيَهْدِيَهُHe guides himيَشْرَحْHe opensصَدْرَهُhis breastلِلْإِسْلَامِto IslamوَمَنAnd whoeverيُرِدْwantsأَنْto mislead himيُضِلَّهُHe misleads himيَجْعَلْHe makesصَدْرَهُhis breastضَيِّقًاtightحَرَجًاconstrictedكَأَنَّمَاas ifيَصْعَدُhe is climbingفِيinالسَّمَاءِthe sky﴾﴿[[الْأَنْعَامِ:Al-An'am:(1)(1)رَوَاهُNarratedمُسْلِمٌby Muslim(۲۷۸۸)(2788)عَنْfromإِبْنِIbnعُمَرَUmarرَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُAllahعَنْهُمَاwith both of them
And His saying: "So whoever Allah wants to guide, He opens his breast to Islam, and whoever He wants to mislead, He makes his breast tight and constricted as if he were climbing in the sky" [Al-An'am: (1) Narrated by Muslim (2788) from Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him].
