هَذِهِtheseآيَاتٌversesفِيinإِثْبَاتٍestablishingصِفَةٍattributeالْمَشِيئَةِwillوَالْإِهْرَارَةِand heat
These are verses in establishing the attributes of will and heat.
فَالْآيَةُSo the verseالأُولَىٰthe firstقَوْلُهُHis sayingتَعَالَىthe Exalted
So the first verse is His saying, the Exalted.
﴿وَلَوْلَاAnd if notإِذْwhenدَخَلْتَyou enteredجَنَّتَكَyour gardenقُلْتَyou saidمَاwhatشَاءَwilledاللَّهُAllahلَاnoقُوَّةَstrengthإِلَّاexceptبِاللَّهِby Allah
"And if not when you entered your garden you said, 'What Allah willed; there is no strength except by Allah.'"
وَلَوْلَاAnd if notبِمَعْنَىmeaningهَلاwhy notفَهِيَit isلِلْحَضِيضِfor the reprimandوَالْمُرَادُand what is meantبِهَاby itهُنَاhereالتَّوْبِيخِthe rebuke
"And if not, meaning 'Why not?' It is for the reprimand, and what is meant by it here is the rebuke."
وَإِذْAnd whenدَخَلْتَyou enteredجَنَّتَكَyour gardenحِينَat the timeدَخَلْتَyou entered
"And when you entered your garden at the time you entered."
جَنَّتُكَYour gardenالْجَنَّةُthe gardenبِفَتْحِwith the openingالْجِيمِof the letter Jimهِيَit isالْبُسْتَانُthe orchardالْكَثِيرُmanyالْأَشْجَارِtreesسُمِّيَتْit is calledبِذَلِكَthusلِأَنَّbecauseمَنwhoفِيْهَاin itمُسْتَتِرٌis concealedبِأَشْجَارِهَاby its treesوَغُصُونِهَاand its branchesفَهُوَit isمُسْتَجْنٌhidden
"The garden, with the pronunciation of 'Jim' as 'Jim', is the orchard with many trees. It is called thus because those in it are concealed by its trees and branches; it is hidden in it."
وَهَذِهِAnd thisالْمَادَّةُthe material(الْجِيمُ(the Jimوَالنُّونُ)and the noon)تَدُلُّindicatesعَلَىonالْاسْتِتَارِconcealmentوَمِنْهَاAnd from itالْجَنَّةُthe Jannah (paradise)بِضَمِّwith the Dhamma (ض)الْجِيمِthe letter Jimالَّتِيwhichيَتَرَّسُis used as a shieldبِهَاby itالْإِنْسَانُthe humanعِندَat the time ofالْقِتَالِthe fighting
"And this material (the Jim and Noon) indicates concealment. And from it, the Jannah (paradise), with the Dhamma (ض) of Jim, which the human uses as a shield in fighting."
وَمِنْهَاAnd from itالْجَنَّةُthe Jannah (paradise)بِكَسْرِwith the Kasra (ك)الجِيمِthe letter Jimيَعْنِيmeansالْجِنَّthe jinnلَأَنَّهُمْbecause theyمُسْتَتِرُونَare concealed
"And from it, the Jannah (paradise) with the Kasra (ك) of Jim, means the jinn; because they are concealed."
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His saying﴿جَنَّتَكَyour gardenهَذِهِthisمُفْرَدٌsingularوَالْمَعْلُومُand it is knownمِنَfromالْآيَاتِthe verses
"And His saying: 'Your garden', this is singular and it is known from the verses that he has two gardens."
فَمَاSo whatهُوَis itالْجَوَابُthe answerحَيْثُwhereكَانَتْit isهُنَاhereمُفْرَدَةٌsingularمَعَwithأَنَّهُthat itجَنَّتَانِtwo gardens
"So what is the answer where it is singular while it has two gardens?"
فَالْجَوَابُSo the answer
"So the answer is that it is stated..."
أَنْthatيُقَالُis saidإنَّthatالْمُفْرَدُthe singularإِذَاifأُضِيفَis addedيَعُمُّwill encompassفَيَشْمَلُthus it includesالْجَنَّتَيْنِthe two gardens
"That it is stated that the singular, if added, will encompass thus including the two gardens."
أَوْorأَنْthatهَذَاthisالْقَائِلُthe speakerأَرَادَintendedأَنْtoيُقَلِّلَminimizeمِنْofقِيمَةِvalueالْجَنَّتَيْنِthe two gardensلَأَنَّbecauseالْمَقَامَthe placeمَقَامٌis a placeوَعَظٌof adviceوَعَدَمٌand the lack ofإِعْجَابٍadmirationبِمَاof whatرَزَقَهُHe has provided him
"Or that the speaker intended to minimize the value of the two gardens because the place is a place of advice and lack of admiration of what Allah has provided him."
كَأَنَّهُAs ifيَقُولُhe saysهَاتَانِThese twoالْجَنَّتَانِgardensجَنَّةٌa gardenوَاحِدَةٌone
"As if he says, 'These two gardens are one garden.'"
وَالْوَجْهُAnd the firstالأَوَّلُthe firstأَقْرَبُis closerإِلَىtoقَوَاعِدِthe rulesاللُّغَةِof languageالْعَرَبِيَّةِArabic
"And the first is closer to the rules of the Arabic language."
﴿قُلْتُI said::جَوَابٌanswerلَوْلَاif not
"I said: Answer if not."
