aqeedatul wasitiyyah

وَتُطْلَقُAnd is calledعَلَىuponالمَفْعُولِthe object؛;أَي:that is:المُتَعَبَّدِthe act of worshipبِهِ،by it,وَهِيَand it isبِهَذَاby thisالمَعْنَىmeaning

تُعَرَّفُIs knownبِمَاby whatعَرَّفَهَاhe defined itبِهِby itشَيْخُSheikhالإِسْلاَمِof IslamابْنُIbnتَيْمِيَّةَ؛Taimiyah;حَيْثُwhereقَالَhe saidرَحِمَهُmay Allah have mercy on him::«الإِعْبَادَةُ"Worshipاسْمٌis a nameجَامِعٌcomprehensiveلِكُلِّfor allمَاthat whichيُحِبُّهُHe lovesاللَّهُGodوَيَرْضَاهُand is pleased withمِنَofالأَقْوَالِthe statementsوَالأَعْمَالِand actionsالظَّاهِرَةِthe apparentوَالْبَاطِنَةِand the hidden (secret)

هَذَاThisالشَّيْءُthingالَّذِيthatتَعَبَّدْنَاWe worshipedاللَّهَGodبِهِby itيَجِبُmustتَوْحِيدُthe unificationاللَّهَof Godبِهِ،by it,لَاnotيُصْرَفُshould be directedلِغَيْرِهِ؛to others;كَالصَّلَاةِlike prayerوَالصِّيَامِand fastingوَزَكَوَاتِand almsgivingوَالحَجِّand pilgrimageوَالدُّعَاءِand supplicationوَالنُّذُرِand vowsوَالخَشْيَةِand fearوَالتَّوَكُّلِand reliance......إِلَىtoغَيْرِotherذَٰلِكَthatمِنَofالْعِبَادَاتِ.the acts of worship.

فَإِنْIf you say:قُلْتَyou say: مَاWhatهُوَisالدَّلِيلُthe evidenceعَلَىonأَنَّthatاللَّهَGodمُنْفَرِدٌis uniqueبِالْأُلُوهِيَّةِ؟in divinity?

فَالْجَوَابُ:The answer:هُنَاكَthere areأَدِلَّةٌevidencesكَثِيرَةٌ؛many;مِنْهَا:among them:

قَوْلُهُHis sayingتَعَالَى:the Most High:﴿وَمَا﴿And We have notأَرْسَلْنَاsentمِنْofقَبْلِكَbefore youمِنْofرَسُولٍmessengerإِلَّاexceptنُوحِيَWe inspireإِلَيْهِto himأَنَّكُرُto inform:لَاthere is notإِلَهَGodإِلَّاexceptأَنَاIفَاعْبُدُونِ﴾worship Me."﴾[الأنبياء:[Al-Anbiya:٢٥]25].

وَلَقَدْAnd indeed,بَعَثْنَاWe have sentفِيinكُلِّeveryأُمَّةٍnationرَسُولًاa messengerأَنِto adviseاعبدواworshipاللَّهَAllah،وَاجْتَنِبُواand avoidالطَّاغُونَ)the tyrants)

وَأَيْضًاAnd alsoقَوْلُهُHis sayingتَعَالَى:the Most High:﴿شَهِدَ﴿TestifiedاللَّهُAllahأَنَّهُthat Heلَاnotإِلَهَa GodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHeوَالْمَلَائِكَةُand the angelsوَأُولُواand thoseالْعِلْمِof knowledge

لَوْIfلَمْnotيَكُنْbeمِنْofفَضْلٍthe virtueالْعِلْمِof knowledgeإِلَّاexceptهَذِهِthisالْمَنْقَبَةِ،merit,حَيْثُwhereإِنَّifاللَّهَGodمَاnotأَخْبَرَinformedأَنْthatأَحَدًاanyoneشَهِدَbore witnessبِأُلُوهِيَّتِهِto His divinityإِلَّاexceptأُولُواthe possessorsالْعِلْمِ،of knowledge,نَسْأَلُwe askاللَّهَGodأَنْthatيَجْعَلَنَاmake usمِنْهُمْ:of them:

﴿شَهِدَ﴿TestifiedاللَّهُAllahأَنَّهُthat Heلَاnotإِلَهَa GodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHeوَالْمَلَائِكَةُand the angelsوَأُولُواand thoseالْعِلْمِof knowledge

قَائِمًاstanding withبِالْقِسْطِjustice.﴾[آل عمران:﴾[Al-Imran:١٨]؛18];بِالْعَدْلِ،with justice,ثُمَّThenقَرَّرَhe confirmedهَذِهِthisالشَّهَادَةَtestimonyبِقَوْلِهِ:by his saying:﴿لَا﴿There is notإِلَهَa GodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHeالْعَزِيزُthe Mighty,الْحَكِيمُ﴾the Wise."﴾[آل[Alعِمْرَان:Imran:١٨]؛18];
