فَإِنَّSo ifقُلْتَyou say::استدلالُكَYour argumentبِالْمَثُوبَةِwith the rewardعَلَىonرِضَاthe approvalاللهِof Allahعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Exalted and Gloriousقَدْmayيُنَازَعُbe disputedفِيهِ؛in it;لِأَنَّbecauseاللهَAllahسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himقَدْmayيُعْطِيgiveالْفَاسِقَthe sinnerمِنَmoreالنِّعَمِblessingsأَكْثَرَmoreمِمَّاthanيُعْطِيHe givesالشَّاكِرِthe grateful.
So if you say: Your argument with the reward on the approval of Allah may be disputed; because Allah, glory be to Him, may give the sinner more blessings than He gives to the grateful.
وَهَذَاAnd thisإِيرَادٌis a strong argument.قَوِيٌّ.Powerful.
And this is a strong argument.
وَلَكِنَButالْجَوَابُthe responseعَنْهُto itأَنْis thatيُقَالُit is said:::إِعْطَاؤُهُHis giving to himالْفَاسِقَthe sinnerالْمُقِيمَwho persistsعَلَىonمَعْصِيَتِهِhis sinاِسْتَدْرَاجٌis a lureوَلَيْسَand notعَنْfromرِضَاthe approvalكَمَاasقَالَHe saidتَعَالَى:the Exalted [said]:﴿(وَالَّذِينَAnd those whoكَذَّبُواhave deniedبِـَٔايَاتِنَاin our signsسَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُمْWe will lure themمِنْfromحَيْثُwhereلَاthey do notيَعْلَمُونَknow.وَأُمَلِيAnd I give respiteلَهُمْto them.إِنَّIndeedكَيْدِيmy planمَنِينٌis very powerful."
But the response to it is that it is said: His giving to the sinner who persists in his sin is a lure and not from the approval, as the Exalted said: "And those who have denied in our signs, we will lure them from where they do not know. And I give respite to them. Indeed, my plan is very powerful."
وَقَالَAnd He saidالنَّبِيُّthe Prophet ﷺ:إِنَّIndeedاللَّهَAllahيُـمْلِيgives respiteلِلظَّالِمِ،to the oppressor,حَتَّىuntilإِذَاwhenأَخَذَهُ؛He takes him,لَمْnotيُفْلِتْهُ»،let him go,"وَتَلَاand recitedقَوْلَهُHis words:تَعَالَى:the Exalted [said]:﴿(وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd likewiseأَخَذُthe punishment ofرَبِّكَyour Lord,إِذَاwhenأَخَذَHe tookالْقُرَىthe villagesوَهِيَwhen they areظَالِمَةٌoppressive,إِنَّIndeed,أَخَذَهُHis taking of itأَلِيمٌis painful;شَدِيدٌsevere.
And He said the Prophet ﷺ: "Indeed Allah gives respite to the oppressor, until when He takes him; He does not let him go," and He recited His words: "And likewise, the punishment of your Lord, when He took the villages while they were oppressive. Indeed, His taking of it is painful; severe."
وَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَى:the Exalted [said]:﴿(فَلَمَّاSo whenنَسُواthey forgotمَاwhatذُكِّرُواthey were reminded of,بِهِby it,فَتَحْنَاWe openedعَلَيْهِمْto themأَبْوَابَthe doors ofكُلِّallشَيْءٍthings, untilحَتَّىuntilإِذَاwhenفَرِحُواthey were happyبِمَاwith whatأُوتُواwas given to them,أَخَذْنَاهُمْWe took themبَغْتَةًunexpectedly.فَإِذَاThen whenهُمْthey areمُبْلِسُونَ*despairing,*فَقُطِعَتْthen was cut offدَابِرُthe rearالْقَوْمِof the people whoالَّذِينَwhoظَلَمُواwere oppressive,وَالْحَمْدُand all praiseلِلَّهِis due to Allah,رَبِّthe Lord ofالْعَالَمِينَ)the worlds."
And He said the Exalted [said]: "So when they forgot what they were reminded of, We opened to them the doors of all things, until when they were happy with what was given to them, We took them unexpectedly. Then when they are despairing,* then was cut off the rear of the people who were oppressive, and all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds."
أَمَّاAs forإِذَاwhenجَاءَتْthe reward cameالْمَثُوبَةُthe rewardوَالْإِنْسَانُand the personمُقِيمٌis persistentعَلَىonطَاعَةِobedienceاللَّهِ؛to Allah;فَإِنَّنَاthen we know thatنَعْرِفُwe knowأَنَّthatذَلِكَthisصَادِرٌis out ofعَنْfromرِضَاthe approvalاللَّهِ عَنْهُ .of Allah upon him.
As for when the reward comes, and the person is persistent in obedience to Allah; then we know that this is out of the approval of Allah upon him.
آيَاتٌVerses ofصِفَاتِattributesالْغَضَبِof angerوَالسَّخَطِand wrathوَالْكَرَاهِيَةِand hatredوَالبُّغْضِ:and enmity:(۱)(1)رَوَاهُNarrated byالْبُخَارِيُّAl-Bukhari(٤٦٨٦)(4686)،,وَمُسْلِمٌand Muslim(٢٥٨٣)(2583)؛;عَنْfromأَبِيAbuمُوسَىMusaالْأَشْعَرِيِّAl-Ashari,رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ.may Allah be pleased with him.
Verses of the attributes of anger, wrath, hatred, and enmity: (1) Narrated by Al-Bukhari (4686), and Muslim (2583); from Abu Musa Al-Ashari, may Allah be pleased with him.
