وَAndأَكِيدُI planكَيْدًاa scheme؛يَعْنِيwhich means:كَيْدًاa schemingأَعْظَمُgreaterمِنْthanكَيْدِهِمْtheir scheming
And I plan a scheme; which means a scheming greater than their scheming.
وَمِنْAnd fromكَيْدِهِمْtheir schemingوَمَكْرِهِمْand their plottingمَاwhatذَكَرَهُHe mentionedاللَّهُAllahفِيinسُورَةِthe chapterالْأَنْفَالِof Al-Anfal:﴿وَإِذْAnd whenيَمْكُرُونَthey plotبِكَagainst youالَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواdisbelievedلِيُثْبِتُوكَto detain youأَوْorيَقْتُلُوكَto kill youأَوْorيُخْرِجُوكَto expel you
And from their scheming and plotting is what Allah mentioned in the chapter of Al-Anfal: 'And when they plot against you, those who disbelieved, to detain you or to kill you or to expel you.'
ثَلاثَةُThreeآرَاءٍopinions(۱)
Three opinions (1):
۱1- يُثَبِّتُوكَ)؛to detain you;يَعْنِيwhich means:تَحْبِسُوكَto imprison you.
1 - To detain you; which means to imprison you.
۲2- يَقْتُلُوكَ)؛to kill you;يَعْنِيwhich means:يُعَدِّمُوكَto execute you.
2 - To kill you; which means to execute you.
- يُخْرِجُوكَ)؛to expel you;يَعْنِيwhich means:يَطْرُدُوكَto expel you.
3 - To expel you; which means to expel you.
وَكَانَتْAnd the opinionرَأْيُof killingالْقَتْلُwasأَفْضَلَthe bestالْآرَاءِof opinionsعِندَهُمْamong themبِمَشُورَةِby the counselإِبْلِيسٍ؛of Iblis;لِأَنَّbecauseإِبْلِيسَIblisجَاءَهُمْcame to themبِصُورَةِin the formشَيْخٍof an elderly manنَجْدِيٍّfrom Najdوَقَالَand saidلَهُمْ:to them:اِنْتَخِبُواChooseعَشَرَةًtenشُبَّانٍyoung menمِنْfromعَشَرَةٍtenقَبَائِلَtribesمِنْofقُرَيْشٍ،Quraish,وَأَعْطُواand giveكُلَّeachوَاحِدٍoneسَيْفًا،sword,ثُمَّthenيَعْمِدُونَthey should go toإِلَىtoمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺMuhammad ﷺفَيَقْتُلُونَهُand kill himكَـقَتْلَةٍas one manوَاحِدٍoneفَيَضِيعَso that his bloodدَمُهُis lostفِيinالْقَبَائِلِ؛the tribes;فَلَاso thatتَسْتَطِيعُthe Banu Hashimبَنُوthe childrenهَاشِمof Hashimأَنْtoتَقْتُلَkillوَاحِدًاany oneمِنَofهَـٰؤُلَاءِtheseالشُّبَّانِ،young men,وَحِينَئِذٍand thenيَلْجَأُونَthey would resortإِلَىtoدِيَةٍ،ransom,فَتَسْلَمُونَand then you will be safeمِنْهُ فَقَالُواfrom him. So they saidهَذَاthisالرَّأْيُ!!opinion!!
And the opinion of killing was the best among them by the counsel of Iblis; because Iblis came to them in the form of an elderly man from Najd and said to them: Choose ten young men from ten tribes from Quraish, and give each one a sword, then they should go to Muhammad ﷺ and kill him as one man so that his blood is lost in the tribes; so that the Banu Hashim could not kill any one of these young men, and then they would resort to the ransom, and you would be safe from him. So they said, 'This opinion!!'
وَأَجْمَعُواBut they conspiredعَلَىonذَٰلِكَthat(٢).(2).
But they conspired on that (2).
وَلَكِنَّهُمْBut theyمَكَرُواdevised a plotمَكْرًاa schemeوَاللَّهُand Allahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedيَمْكُرُdevises a planخَيْرًاbetterمِنْهُ؛than that;قَالَsaidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَى:the Exalted:﴿وَيَمْكُرُونَAnd they plotوَيَمْكُرُand Allah plansاللَّهُAllahوَاللَّهُand Allahخَيْرُis the bestالْمَكِرِينَof the planners.)[الْأَنْفَالِ :(Al-Anfal:٣٠]؛30];فَمَاSo whatحَصَلَhappenedلَهُمْto themالَّذِيwhichيُرِيدُونَthey wantedبَلْRatherإِنَّthatالرَّسُولَthe Messengerعَلَيْهِupon himالصَّلَاةَpeaceوَالسَّلَامَand blessings
But they devised a plot, and Allah, the Exalted, devises a plan that is better than that; Allah said: 'And they plot, and Allah plans, and Allah is the best of planners.' (Al-Anfal: 30); So what happened to them which they wanted? Rather, the Messenger upon him be peace and blessings.
